Off to Spain in the van early next month, but we're driving through France. Thanks for the travel tips. Here's one for you! Journey along Northern Spain into Galicia. It's stunning! The people are friendly, the aires empty and it's a lot less manic than going South. You can get into Northern Portugal and again it's really nice. They are much less visited areas of both countries, but ideal motor homing country. Bon route, and if you're still there in Sept, I'll keep an eye out for you.
Thanks we did do Galacia last time we were here and really enjoyed the coast from Fisterra and south to Portugal. We even stayed in the city of Santiago de Vigo on a park up opposite the beach. We are heading that way now and if we have time left will do Galacia again.

Great vid guys inspired us I book our crossing to Santander. What arrangements have you made for your return journey? And can you recommend some of those small campsites? What was that one on the beach?
We haven’t made any arrangements for the return as yet because the rules keep changing so we’ll think about that in a couple of weeks. As for campsites, take a look at last summers road trip playlist and keep an eye on this years road trip videos for campsites and recommendations
looking forward to seeing your travels around Spain, hoping to do this one day ourselves....... how was the crossing going across the Bay of Biscay, I have always wanted to do this crossing but been nervous since we heard horror stories about how rough it is, I am not to good with travel sickness ?
Great to hear you got "let in to Spain". I am travelling a similar route from mid September for 3 weeks, heading to Nerja from Bilbao and steering a course from Cadiz back North. Have you any particular campsite links that you use to "plan ahead for stopovers"? Currently I have no campsites booked, do you pre-book or rock u on spec? Any travel planning tips would be greatly appreciated. Enjoy the holiday.

I always said I wouldn’t go on the ferry, as I get really seasick (had a horrendous trip over to Ireland a few years ago!), but that looked ok. Thoughts? Should we stick to driving over to the Channel Tunnel (from Pembrokeshire) and then driving down through France?
If France is somewhere you like to stop and explore then it’s worth going through the tunnel. We wanted to get here as fast and refreshed as possible. We would have been tired and grumpy after 2/3 days of driving solidly through France.
We are trying to keep a close eye on the return situation, but it’s already changed twice since we left MK 🤦🏻♀️ what ever happens we will just make it work!

The site at Burgos is ok and there’s a lovely small site just outside Soria.
Can't wait for the next vlog, safe travels
Thanks Chris!
Thank you 🙏 family for sharing - what is the make/model of your camper van please?
Hi Richard, it’s a 2016 Swift KonTiki 649
@@RoamingRadfords many thanks indeed please keep well 🙏
Great video, what website do you use to find your camp sites?
Thanks, we mainly use www.searchforsites.co.uk
Happy holidays love the blogs enjoy your holiday
Thank you Brendan x
looking forward to seeing your travels around Spain, hoping to do this one day ourselves....... how was the crossing going across the Bay of Biscay, I have always wanted to do this crossing but been nervous since we heard horror stories about how rough it is, I am not to good with travel sickness ?
Fortunately it was a fairly smooth crossing. We have also heard how bad it can get and wouldn’t want to be on the boat crossing when it’s bad
Happy and safe travels . I'm well jell , we have just postponed our Plymouth Santander ferry yet again until next August 🥺
Oh that’s so disappointing Fiona! But something to look forward to!
How long are you away for?
Great to hear you got "let in to Spain". I am travelling a similar route from mid September for 3 weeks, heading to Nerja from Bilbao and steering a course from Cadiz back North. Have you any particular campsite links that you use to "plan ahead for stopovers"? Currently I have no campsites booked, do you pre-book or rock u on spec? Any travel planning tips would be greatly appreciated.
Enjoy the holiday.
Hey there! We use Searchforsites.co.uk or Park4Night to find stops. We don’t tend to prebook or plan, just pick an area and then find somewhere we like in that area 😊
@@RoamingRadfords cheers, many thanks for that., very interesting, will be busy browsing.
Just caught up with the Radfords. . Ooohhh. . What a Parlava. . Nice to see that Mrs Radford had all paperwork in. Order. . Just wondering if. . It be as easy coming back to UK. . I mean GREAT BRITAIN. . . We will see. . Enjoy your freedom. . And Adventure xx
We have no idea, the rules for coming back have already changed twice so who knows??? 🤨😂
Very interesting, great job 👍👏
Thank you!
Great to see you made it in to Spain. Do you have campsites booked along the way or do you wing it as you go??
We completely wing it as we go along
@@RoamingRadfords Very brave. Good luck and have a great time. Weather here in the North East of England is terrible at the moment. I know where I would rather be! Looking forward to the on the road vlogs but remember...all work and no play Steve. Try to relax along the way.
Great video as usual. We are going to Spain from Portsmouth to Bilbao on the 25th...Have not done any of the paperwork yet (we are travelling straight to Portugal from Bilbao) Bradley needs covid test as he is now 12...
Ahhh, he’s probably an expert after all the tests he’s needed for school!
Loved you guys! I have subscribed
Welcome along Carl!
Glad you have escaped. Check your return details. should be good but its 4 weeks? can always get dinghy
We are trying to keep a close eye on the return situation, but it’s already changed twice since we left MK 🤦🏻♀️ what ever happens we will just make it work!
Great viewing, look forward to your adventures, we should be doing same as you right now however we had one positive randox result 24 hours before we were due to leave. Was heading to Spain driving then France went red so we switched to flying directly to Spain but it wasn’t to be😔 love how organised Mrs R is, stay safe have fun x
Oh no! How disappointing!!!
There are two good campsites at the bottom of Spain 1/ At Duquesa and another on the beach at Soto Grande both popular.
Great tip! Thanks Lynds x
Hi what year was your Plymouth Santander crossing and how much for tag axle please it’s a trip I’m looking to do this July but can’t make my mind up on the tunnel or ferry, I’m in Exeter cheers Derek
Hi Derek. We did Plymouth to Santander in the summer of 2020 and we paid around £1,500 return with a cabin
Great videos l look forward to the nxt one
Thanks Damian!
Living the LIFE 🌍
😊
Thank you for the video. We took, milk, ham, Bovril etc to France - no one checked.
Oh that was lucky! I’d be so worried!
south of burgos,,,sad hill cemetery...scene of the ending of the good the bad and the ugly,,,,good viewing guys
Ahhh we missed that, maybe next time!
Hi. Wondering what you guys put down on the SPTH forms if had not booked somewhere to stay in advance?
Hey Colin, I listed the Ferry Port address, I’d read that advice on the SPTH website. Lynds x
@@RoamingRadfords Thanks Lyndsey. Good to know. Much appreciated 😊
Where planning a European trip in October so love watching your adventures. Im picking lots of useful tips up off you. Might even try and do a youtube channel of our trip 😊 Can I ask which insurance you use for your trips please, as the ones I've been looking at all seems to be if you fly. Thank you in advance.
Hey Julie, we use Comfort for our Motorhome i suntan event which includes European Breakdown cover. Then I used a price comparison site to find holiday insurance with “Covid plus” cover. I think the company is called Puffin.
@@RoamingRadfords thank you , I’ll have a look 😁
Really looking forward to your onward journey videos. I’d literally kill to be going there right now in our motorhome but just not possible with mi e & my husbands jobs atm. 😭😭
Aww that sucks Jennifer, but something good to look forward to?
So glad all went well and they let you all into Spain..... I am keeping up with whereabouts on Instagram... Have a wonderful holiday....Diana from Argentina...
Thanks Diana! Ahhh so you knew the outcome🤫
