When you have a chance, I feel like you should listen to Gfriend's older older songs to really grasp their sound, they are really unique in their own way. The ones you listened to last time were essentially their experimental tracks. I'd recommend Rough, Love Whisper, and Me Gustas Tu. Naverilla and Sunrise are also good ones.

GFriend & Mamamoo actually did a variety show together years ago, where they covered each other's song (MMM covered 'Rough' while GFriend covered 'You're the Best').GFriend is famous for their immaculate dance choreography, so if you have the time you should check them out.
I see you've done some reactions to some of their more recent stuff like Apple, Crossroads, and Fever, I'd recommend checking out some of their early stuff. Their songs Me Gustas Tu, Rough, and Navillera are the ones that launched them into popularity. They had a "power innocent" concept when they began which they've transitioned into a more mature concept over time. They first started walking away from the original concept with Fingertip, which you might really like as it has a sort of Disco/Funk thing going on, but they received some backlash for what people perceived as too sudden a change in style. They went back to the innocent concept for a bit then started evolving it again with Time of the Moon Night and Sunrise (which are both awesome songs and well worth checking out for some impressive vocals) which then led into their current trilogy of Crossroads/Labyrinth, Apple, and Mago. The outliers are their summer songs like Fever and Sunny Summer which have always had a brighter poppier feel.

I feel like they are finally getting to experiment with their sound and concept. In the past they usually kept to their sound. They almost came up with their own genre. Like when you listened to a gfriend song you automatically knew it was them. They always had a very theatrical, soft sound with classical instruments mixed in (piano, violin or whatnot) and their music videos and songs were very lyrical and told a story. Don't get me wrong, that sound is still great, but with Apple and Mago, they are EXTREMELY different from their past sounds. It's like a more mature upgrade to their old songs. I love it. I think they've said before they were afraid to try new sounds because they didn't want to disappoint anyone and a lot of fans love them for their signature sound, but they have NAILED it with Apple and Mago

I loved this song! I suggest listening to SNSD's All Night because this song reminded me a lot of that song and MV, also a true BOP.
BTW, I would love if you checked out WJSN/Cosmic Girls, there are 13 members (although they have been promoting as 10 for two years because the 3 chinese girls are busy in China), they have 3 main vocals, three lead vocals that could easily be main vocals as well and the other members all have very nice vocals as well, even the rapper is a great singer. I would suggest you react to Secret, Save me save you, La la love or Dreams come true but any song would be great, I personally adore their whole discography. One of the main vocals is an ex IOI member.
MAGO is connected to their storyline, MAGO is witch/wizard in Spanish and in Apple MV they were tempted because of the apple, in their sort of storybook from their album, the Sirens took their souls where they forgot everything from their past and they finally transformed into witches.
GFriend is also a girl group with a diverse discography and powerful vocalists. If you want to give a whirl of their original sound (that they debuted with and stuck w several years) I recommend Rough, Navillera, Glass Bead and then they begin to break away from that with Fingertip. All of their music has always been amazing, I especially enjoy Yuju and Umji's voices. Yuju has the standard vocal powerhouse qualities of a gg main vocal, I think what distinguishes her is the amount of emotion she is able to convey compared to other vocalists. Umji's voice color is so beautiful but you don't really get to hear it as often in their title tracks so maybe some b-sides or an Umji cover if you get a chance. Thanks for another great reaction.

There are many reasons in general why this should remind you of Sunmi. FRANTS is the principle writer, arranger and producer of the track. He also did Apple.
FRANTS produced Sunmi's Siren (and several other tracks on Warning) as well as many of the Wonder GIrls (Sunmi's GRoup while she was with JYP) tracks that SUnmi helped write.
This is why I tell people it is extremely important to know who the producers/arrangers are, to find all of the connections in the kpop world.
Many people forget that Big Hit's Bang Shi Hyuk got his name Hitman Bang working with JYP including on tracks for the Wonder Girls where his collaborations with FRANTS began.
Intheir comeback show you'll get something like A tale of glass bead like story telling by Eunha.

There’s a lot to check out from Gfriend and their charm is their choreography, as well as versatility these days as they expand to different sounds. Their brand was “powerful innocent” for a very long time and their first actual break from it was actually Fever, which you’ve already seen!
In the album, there's a picture where the sirens took their soul and made them witches but modern witches and they lost their memories that's why they're so happy in Mago because they can't remember anything.

I feel like Gfriend is one of those groups where every title track is connected to previous ones and ones to follow. Not like their debut is necessarily connected to Mago (name of a goddess btw, which goes with their current witch theme) but the journey makes sense. I like Gfriend a lot, they are all really sweet girls and their dancing as a group is especially impressive. Your current bias (the one who started the video) is Sowon (meaning wish) the leader and I think oldest. My favourite is Umji (meaning thumb) the one with yellow top in some scenes and I think the youngest.
If you like Disco I hope you'll consider reacting to Sunmi, her disco comeback this year Porappippam is amazing and all her songs and MVs are generally fresh and retro at the same time.

Apple is loosely connected as the progression of Gfriend girls' transformation. In Apple, they seemingly ditched their innocent old self and embraced the darker realm under the symbolism of witch as you could see the ritualistic scene in the MV (haircutting, dancing in front of the burning tree, new smoky styling) as the lyrics references witching hours. In Mago, the MV clearly describes these bewitching girls jazz up themselves for some nightly fun - also the lyrics speak to how they now accept who they are, the good and the bad, and willingly just being themselves. The lyrics also makes references to witch in a very veiled manner in the verse "6960 magic" - as some already found out - refers to NGC 6960, also known as The Witch's Broom Nebula. It's fun, isn't it?
In a way, the song is very much an self-empowering declaration, decorated in the sound of disco. Hope this helps.

Late to the party but if you're impressed by pole dancing I recommend you check out After School's First Love (also songs like Flashback, Ah, Bang, Because Of You, and Shampoo are great) they were real stars in kpop and pioneers for girl groups. They also had some stellar vocalists like Raina. Would be fun for a throwback!

Fever and Apple are actually quite experimental tracks from them
This Mago, retro sound is actually not a new sound for them, as they are one of the "last defender" of kpop 90's - 2000's - ish sound.
Crossroads is the one that closer to their sound, as in passionate-melancholy type.
I recommend Sunrise, Time for The Moon Night, and Rough. Those three are their best title tracks IMO. Rough particularly is one of modern kpop legendary song.
But yes, GFriend sound is unique... and if you are a songwriter you'll need to dig deeper to the lyrics too, as they have always have a good wholesome unity between lyrics - music - dance - MV - concept, and a continuation story between songs too on top of all that.
