With the installation of new strings, my ZAGER 900CE now plays effortlessly and beautifully, producing notes that seem to hang suspended in the air. I am truly appreciative of your outstanding work, attention to detail, and excellent customer service. I've grown so fond of my guitar that I've affectionately given her the nickname Miss "Z." Thank you for creating such a wonderful instrument!
Regarding the comment posted by 77 guitarts22, I own two Zager guitars, a ZAD80 CE cedar top with Indian rosewood sides and back, and a ZAD900 CE with a Sitka spruce top and Indian rosewood sides and back. They are the finest guitars I have ever owned or played, by some distance. They are made in either Lincoln Nebraska or Las Vegas, Nevada. The internal labeling under the sound hole and at the base of the neck simply says, "Zager, Est. 1969" I also have another guitar, which came from Zager as the "GO" in a BOGO with my 900 CE when I bought it. It is branded "Easy Play" on the headstock and main internal label. The label on the neck base says "made in China". This guitar may be the type you are referring to. It is a fine starter guitar, which is easy to play and sounds phenomenal for a starter. This guitar, as pleasant as it is to play, doesn't belong in the same conversation with actual Zager branded guitars, which do not say they are made in the USA because of a California lawsuit stating that no product not using zero imported parts can say made in USA. You don't have to go any farther than "Indian rosewood" to see why they don't say that. They are completely assembled in the USA, and. Denny Zager still does the majority of the work himself. The Indonesian and Chinese guitars are donated to schools, given away in contests, and used as marketing tools, such as the BOGO I bought my 900CE with.
I love my Zager also, but you are free to email them directly about where they are assembled. They will not tell you they are completely assembled in the USA. In fact, they will not tell you how much is assembled in Nebraska at all... Just sayin...
I bought the 900 50th anniversary model. First ont they sent me was a piece of crap. 2,200.00 garbage. Sent it back. They said Dennis Zager himself would pull one from a vault. Check it out. Took almost a month to get it replaced. It came it was a bit better but low E buzzed off the saddle bad. I'm a working musician who has a Real fine guitar Gibson Hummingbird being re- fretted. I read the hype. The second I get my Gibson back. This one is for sale. I spent 125.00 to have the saddle fixed at the local guitar shop. These guitars look good have great hardware. But are total garbage for sound. As for easier to play. I have to laugh. They come with a soft silky set of strings. The two they sent me had the string height like a 100.00 guitar. Then tell you to crank the truss rod. If you need to raise them. My resonator set up to play slide has the strings lower than either came from this clown show. If anyone wants mine I'll cut you a great deal. All in all go get a guitar you like the feel of. These play like the cheapest Martin available. Except you still will need your saddle corrected. Zager is a scam. Their from Indonesia not the U.S. They are shipped from Nevada and I think their email responses are AI or pre written script.
@BkB5870 man, you had a wildly different experience than me or any of my associates that have these guitars. 40 years playing. This thing is like buttah...
The meticulous attention to detail in the guitars and the exceptional customer satisfaction are truly remarkable. I couldn't have bought a guitar from a more wonderful group of people, and I absolutely adore my new Zager. Thank you for delivering such a fantastic instrument and providing an outstanding customer experience!
I received my Zager ZAD900CE guitar yesterday and what a beautiful instrument it is! Being the owner of Martin, Guild, and Taylor guitars, I look forward to the enjoyment playing this new addition to my guitar tribe will bring. Kudos to the Zager guitar production family for not only the timely delivery of my splendid new guitar but for the quick and courteous responses to my questions.
I may not consider myself a proficient guitar player despite having picked up the instrument back in high school. Now, at the age of 68 and retired, I decided to test my skills again. Last spring, I bought a Zager ZAD900CE guitar. Little did I know how enjoyable it would be to have such a quality instrument at my fingertips anytime I wished to play. Owning a fantastic guitar may not automatically transform someone into a master player, but it certainly adds an immense amount of enjoyment to the experience. The team at Zager has been incredibly supportive, offering continuous encouragement and assistance, which keeps me motivated to keep exploring and trying out new techniques.
I've also played guitar for approximately 52 years, having owned or played Martin, Taylor, Alvarez, Fender, Takamine, Ibanez, most other lower and Higher end brands, I purchased the ZAD900 CE several years ago and liked it so much I purchased a ZAD900E Dreadnought. Both Zagers are the finest Sounding, Finest playing Acoustic/Electric guitars I've owned/played bar none. They sound better and are much easier to play than any professional brand I've owned. I've played in rock bands as well as just on my own or with one or two others, in clubs, bars, at schools, universities and various venues and attest they are some of the finest instruments with the best service I've seen. The owners are kind, honest people and fair if not more than fair to work with. You have a 30 day money back guarantee to play for 30 days at home with free shipping both ways and a money back guarantee. You literally cannot lose on these guitars. The workmanship is gorgeous. Try it out and you not want to ever give up your purchase. The owners are sincerely honest trustworthy people. They have beginner up to professional models. If you are thinking about a new guitar or changing the brand your have you will not be disappointed.
I'm delighted to hear that your guitar is a truly gorgeous instrument and that it sounds fantastic! It's great to know that it arrived in tune and in excellent shape, ensuring you a smooth and enjoyable playing experience. Enjoy making beautiful music with your new guitar!
I thoroughly enjoy my experience with my Zager ZAD20. It plays exceptionally well and produces fantastic sounds. Whenever I reach out to customer support via email, I'm always welcomed, and they promptly respond to any issues I have. The ability to achieve a low action with 09-42 bronze ultra lights is fantastic, especially for electric guitar players like myself. Additionally, the included form-fitting hard shell case was the perfect finishing touch. Greetings and thanks to the gentlemen at Zager for providing such an excellent product and service!
I am thrilled to report that my Zager guitar arrived yesterday, and it lives up to every description you provided. It was securely packaged, and once I tuned it and let it adjust to the temperature here, the sound it produces is exquisite. I am in love with every aspect of it! I eagerly anticipate my free lesson and am considering signing up for the library too. Thank you for delivering such a fantastic instrument!
I'm absolutely thrilled with my Zager 80CE, which feels like a work of art and an engineering marvel in design. I can play it effortlessly for hours, thanks to its heavenly tone. My left-handed version even came with the optional add-on pick guard, which fit perfectly on the standard right-handed model. When I reached out via email, I received a prompt reply the same day, and the correct replacement was shipped without any hassle. I apologize for the tardiness of my review; I had to recover from an arm injury before I could fully enjoy the sheer joy of playing this incredible instrument. Thank you, Zager, for creating such a masterpiece!
I had a wonderful experience dealing with this company, and I am absolutely in love with the ZAD50CE OM guitar that I purchased. Thank you for providing such excellent products and service!
I recently acquired a truly exceptional Zager guitar and I am thoroughly delighted with my purchase. Without a doubt, I will be making future purchases from them. Thank you for the outstanding service and product!
I've been playing guitar almost 40 years now. In that time I've owned many different brands, Martin, Gibson, Taylor, Fender, Alvarez, Ibanez, Washburn, Squier, Takamine. My Zager Zad900 is by far the best sounding, playing guitar I've ever owned. The craftsmanship and detail that Mr. Zager puts into his guitars is exquisite. Looks like a piece of art that you can play. I picked mine up at their little shop in Lincoln, Nebraska 12 years ago and Denny was still building each guitar by hand. A great family owned operation, the kind I like to support.
@@VajrahahaShunyata Asia, Bolivia, Indonesia, Canada...If you know anything about building guitars you know it's impossible to build a guitar with only American made parts, and what makes American parts better? Many builders these days are buying parts from all over the world so they get the best quality while still maintaining lower price points for their customers.
@@maxsmith4915 This is a very deceptive statement riddled with deceit and manipulation to distract perspective customers from the truth. Resources show me that zager employs a total of 6 people. Now regardless of where the guitar parts come from (tuners, fret wire, tuning pegs, etc), there is absolutely no way zager is designing guitars, acquiring the woods for the guitars, building their own backs and sides, carving their own necks, making their own fret boards, and every other aspect of building a guitar, with only six employees, at the volume that their guitars are produced.
@@matthewbaney2660 I don't know where you're getting your info from but when I picked up my guitar I saw a pretty big operation with at least 20 employees, maybe 25, and that was over 10 years ago. Going by their advertising I wouldn't doubt they've grown. I'm going to send an email and ask as I'm curious myself.
@@maxsmith4915 I simply searched, "How many people does zager guitars employ?" The search yielded the location of the company, the date the company was fiunded, The founder and owners name, the number of people zager guitars employs, and some info on the company business model.
I received my Zager ZAD80CE in January. I just want to say how much I love this guitar and appreciate all the love and knowledge that went into making this fine piece of art! It sounds amazing and plays so nicely. The craftsmanship is outstanding! The Fishman Aura pickup sounds incredible. The fit and gloss finish is remarkable and the inlays are beautiful. Highly recommend Zager Guitars! 5 stars!
My wife and sons purchased a 900 OM electric cutaway for me for my birthday after I was complaining about fighting my Martin. The craftsmanship is amazing, it plays so easily, and plugged into a Fishman acoustic amp the sound is better than I would expect. I have a lot of guitars, acoustic and electric and this is at the top of my list.
Zager's customer service immediately captured my attention. My ZAD50CE arrived safely and with great care. The detailed explanation of what to expect as the guitar is played more only added to my satisfaction. The unique humidity-regulated housing is not just aesthetically pleasing but also incredibly practical. I tested it overnight in a warm setting, and the guitar remained perfectly cool. I encountered a minor issue with a missing tool, and my email seeking support received a prompt and positive response. The educational videos and online tutorials provided are incredibly helpful. I am an extremely satisfied customer.
I absolutely love my cedar top ZAD 80 CE. I'm waiting on my ZAD 50CE mahogany to here. Here's a post I put on the Zager Guitar Owners Facebook page. Four things I wasn't told about my Zager guitar, and it's really pissing me off! 1) "They cost less than half as much as comparable guitars of other brands." While it sounds good on thej surface, there are two problems with this statement. J First, I have looked high and low and have yet to find a comparable guitar of another brand. 2) Second, once I received the ZAD 80 CE guitar and played it, I immediately began twisting my own arm to force myself into buying the ZAD 50 CE mahogany, which I did within two months. Furthermore, I now find myself making plans to purchase a ZAD 900 at some point in the future. I think we all know where this is leading. Inexpensive? Hardly! 3) I wasn't told that Zager guitars are infused with some sort of dark magic which, when the guitar is first played, begins making its pervasive way through the house, causing every guitar not protected by the inlaid Z on the neck to sound like junk, rendering it derelict, waiting to be donated to the first worthy person or cause that presents itself. 4) I wasn't told that once I received my Zager guitar, the joy of playing it would cause me to neglect less important things, like family, work, and other hobbies, in favor of practice time. Yup! Those Zager guitars are dangerous! I'd think twice before buying one. . . Or two . . . Or three. . . Or. . .
I am really enjoying my Zager ZAD80CE. Plays great. Sounds great. My emails to customer service with any questions are always welcomed and answered quickly. As an electric guitar player the ability to get a low action with 09-42 bronze ultra lights is amazing. And the form-fit hard shell case that came with it was the icing on the cake. Thanks, guys.
I recently acquired a ZAD900CEOM from Zager Guitars, and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. The guitar's quality is top-notch, comparable to well-known brands, yet it cost me only half the price. Zager's promise of enhanced playability is undeniably accurate. I highly recommend getting one as soon as you can. It's a fantastic investment!
I am thoroughly delighted with the responsiveness of my new Zager OM guitar. Its sensitivity allows me to effortlessly transition between a gentle, melodic tone and a powerful, striking sound when I strum and pick. This guitar offers a wide variety of tones and is gentle on my fingers, making it a comfortable and versatile choice.
When I received my Zad 50-CE, I was already impressed upon opening the case, but my amazement grew when I held it, examined it closely, and realized the exceptional quality of the instrument. As a beginner, I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to play certain chords compared to my other guitar. Having the opportunity to practice my music on this beautiful Zager Guitars guitar feels like a stroke of luck, and I am truly grateful for it.
Having played guitar since the age of 12 and having experienced various well-known brands, I had almost given up on playing. However, the Zager ZAD80 CE I received completely revived my interest. It's not just a guitar; it's a beautiful instrument of heirloom quality. Impeccably crafted, I can tell it will become my primary choice for playing. I extend my gratitude to Denny and his son for making this musical reawakening possible. Thank you for creating such a fantastic instrument!
I own their ZAD80 and just love it! I’m so happy after 60 years of playing all kinds and brands of guitars I settled on a Zager after extensive shopping around for a new guitar that has quality , playability, beauty , dynamic balanced sound , and great customer service etc all rolled into one , not to mention the price, I couldn’t be more satisfied and happy. I highly recommend these guitars!
I think that is the marketing on these guitars aka easy play. I keep the action on my Taylor nice and low and can play it for hours. I invested in the tools needed to set up my guitars.
To be honest I was a little stressed about buying a guitar I had never played before buying. But I figured with the company's 30-day return plan how can you go wrong? So I bought a guitar from Zager and decided after playing it for a while I would like to upgrade to the next guitar up in their line. I contacted Denny JR and asked him about the upgrade and he immediately emailed a packing slip to return the guitar the day I sent it back he sent the upgraded one. He was very pleasant and asked if there was anything else, he could do for me which in these days and times is rare. I want him to know that his quick response was appreciated. Denny JR is extremely helpful, kind, and considerate to his customers. So, to wrap up Zager sells beautiful, easy-to-play guitars. They back-up every word they say. Customer service is excellent and that is why I am buying another Zager Zad900CE guitar they will have a lifelong customer in me. Thank you Dennis Zager Jr
I find the Zager has a narrower neck than my Taylor, strings closer together. Fretboad narrow, low E string easily rolls off side of frets if changing chords quickly. Requires real effort to be precise to not roll string off edge. Zager guitars are beautiful, seem well made, and sound like what they sell for on sale. Not nearly as articulate as my 714CE ( both cedar tops) and a bit more muted. Also the fretboard radius is a bit much, making it more difficult to get all clean notes when using bar chords up the neck. Tone is a bit more bright than my Taylor, and much more than my Martin D35. (Which could be the light Zager strings that came on it) though I use 11s on most of my acoustics 80/20 . Overall my impression is they sell for what they are worth. Tone wise, they sound like what they sell for, maybe a tad better. Looks wise they are why better than what they sell for, playability is a below what they sell for. This is just for the example I played, as with all guitars they can vary greatly from one to another of the same model. I do know Zager stands behind their products, and if a sub par one slips through they will replace it no problem. While their advertising style puts off many people, I would not bash the company or their products as a whole. Also you can find great deals on them used on reverb, where you can get much more quality than you are paying for.
Additionally, the customer service provided by Zager Guitars deserves a special mention. Their team is knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely passionate about helping musicians find the perfect instrument. The buying experience is smooth, and any queries or concerns are addressed promptly, making the entire process a pleasure.
I would like to say that Zager makes the best acoustic guitar in the world. They are the best thing since sliced bread. They are better than pre-war Martins and make Jame's Olsen guitars sound average. The only instrument you can compare in quality and playability with a Zager, might be a premium Esteban, but as they say, you get what you pay for. I am so glad Zager came into my life. It is the best thing that has ever happened to me. I would like to say, they make the best guitar on the face of the earth.
I'm guessing everyone here that says a Zager is the best guitar in the world have never owned a Martin, or played a Hofner. Even when I wished other guitars were as good, nothing holds a candle to a Martin. If your Martin doesn't sound better than everything else, it needs new strings.
I had a Harmony Sovereign I bought for $100 that sounded every bit as good as the middle of the road Martins I played that sold for 30 to 40 times more. NEVER could justify the cost of Martin guitars compared to some way cheaper others including the Harmony I had. IMHO comparable Taylors sound WAY better. Martin guitars always sounded ...well just like a million other acoustic guitars. Nothing special. The only Martin guitar I ever heard that really moved me was some one off exotic wood model that was a video on here. When you go into comparing acoustic guitar sound you have to do it with a negative attitude towards all of them and play the ones you think you might like and let the guitar change your attitude towards them. when I went to a guitar store and played a few upper end models of all different brands, the Taylors absolutely melted my hearing heart. And THAT is when I walked away thinking WTF is all the fucking hype about Martin guitars being the best...they clearly are not. But that is IMHO. If you like the sound of Martin guitars and feel they are worth the money fine...just don't preach the Martin word as gospel. It clearly is not.
Returned mine and called up set up Nevada ! You could put 2 -quarter on top of 12'fret , guitar was set up square neck dobro and adjusting helped but why to hard to play, return d both guitars , bought a firefly acoustic real wood,$200 had a. Pro set up and beat the zager 50 model ,and orange wood if you email them as you buy guitar to set up guitar for blue grass picking they will set up guitar to lowest action without buzzing,I contact , Dennis Jr, oh we don't do that! No thank you zager guitar's,but they took guitar,s back and paided for shipping $ and told up man in Nevada how neck made wrong ! The right thing Zager should of done ,zager will make you a guitar ,that plays for you give us time and lets make you a good Zager guitar that you and your friends can play and enjoy! Glad the old man retiring ,get those guitars to be EZ play, mine were not! 😮😢
The fact that ALL Zager guitar reviews are "paid" reviews, e.g. the reviewer gets free guitars and swag in exchange for a review negates the possibility of a completely unbiased review. I have literally seen zero real endorsements of their instruments. Even the name - EZ-Play - sounds like something you would buy at Walmart. But the main takeaway is, NO REVIEW THAT IS DONE IN EXCHANGE FOR MONEY, GOODS, OR SERVICES IS UNBIASED. PERIOD.
I recently bought a 900CE. I'm having two string related problems. The first is the B string buzzes like it's on a sitar. I haven't been able to isolate the buzzing to either the nut, bridge, or any individual fret as it buzzes no matter where I fret the string. I also don't like the loose feel and softness of the strings that came with the guitar. The low E string tends to deviate off the fretboard if I press down hard playing the C/G chord. I was thinking of changing the strings to a slightly heavier gauge than supplied with the instrument but the nut looks like it's tightly fitted to the strings that came with it. I tried a drop of super glue on the B string nut and bridge but that made no difference. Anyone who has experience with either of the above issues?
I noticed this an my ZAD80. On mine, it sounded like it was coming from the bridge/saddle area, and again the b string. My thoughts it might be the string or saddle? My guess is the Zager strings?
Zagers are heavy and clunky and overbuilt by comparison with other fine guitars. I’m not playing the 900CE I bought. I’m playing my Yamaha, my Guild and my Taylor. The B string buzzed. They told me to re-humifify the guitar with wet wash cloths on the inside of the body which cured the buzz but corroded the battery contacts on the pickup. All in all I wish I’d never bought this Zagrer.
For those who are still wondering, It's very clear (but hidden) stated on their inside label towards the neck, "Built in Indonesia" - then below so you can see it even without the strings off, something about Denis Z designed and modified them in the USA. Not bad guitars but probably Double the price they are actually worth since so many other All-Solid wood guitars like Epiphone Masterbilt, Eastman, Faith and so on have lower prices and better playability most of the times and better sound. Just listen to their TH-cam sound demos... They all lack the bass and deep tone that other guitars have.

@@inkmastertim Ok, so they changed the strategy by not saying anymore where it's actually made. ( I was actually referring to that label from a 2014 ZAD80 ) Think about this, if they are making them in a shop in the states, why would they not show the shop pictures or let the people take videos about it, right? Like any other serious company... It would cost them hugely to build them in the US, so they use the cheaper handwork in Indonesia, import the guitars, do the setup and that's how they claim the guitars come directly from the legend DZ :)) who probably never even built a guitar ever. They're using his relative notoroty to sell the imported product. Not saying the guitars are bad, but they're overpriced for where they're made.
@77guitarts22 if you'd like me to, I can post some very long emails that explain exactly which work is still being done by an aging Dennis Zager, besides bending the wood for the sides, as well as which countries all of the parts are coming from. Your information is simply not accurate. I don't know why you feel led to dis Zager guitars, but it's really not necessary, in my opinion.
@@inkmastertim First of all, I don't have any pleasure in discrediting Zager, I'm like many looking for the truth behind all this and what unfortunately I can see more and more is that even if the guitars seem to be ok for most people that tried them, there are some lies and decieving going on here with the Zager people.
@@inkmastertim Ok, regarding the emails, how do you know he is not just telling you what you want to hear? Lies? Misleading? Why would they not clearly explain it on their website for Everyone to understand and believe them? You know there's something there that's not right... Their trick still works on people that are hoping for that Easy Playing guitar that will play almost by itself. Well, each can make their decision but they better know if there's something shady about that company.
They try to make people think these are actually made in the states when they are only finished and set up in the states . They have very aggressive sales tactics and say things on the site that are just plain not true . Like the sale end every day lol like those old furniture warehouse commercials
WRONG!! The only imported guitars are the starter guitars that they give away after they set them up here. Everything else is made in Nebraska or Nevada.

I agree 100 percent! I don't care where they're built! They are absolutely peerless!
So why is it that pretty much all the guitars in this video were NOT Zager?
By building by hand did u mean to say assembling by hand from asian made part's?
First, I have looked high and low and have yet to find a comparable guitar of another brand.
I'd think twice before buying one. . . Or two . . . Or three. . . Or. . .
Now thats a review I can live with! Buying a 900ce for my son! Thanks, your review made up my mind!
@@mahto54 Great! That makes me feel good. Neither of you will be disappointed!
A good set up can make pretty much any well made guitar play very easily, been doing just that for years .
I have the Zager ZAD900E and it is beyond AMAZING!
Firewood
Zager with a hard G, not a J sound.
I own two Zager guitars, a ZAD80 CE cedar top with Indian rosewood sides and back, and a ZAD900 CE with a Sitka spruce top and Indian rosewood sides and back.
Lies? Misleading? Unfortunately I've caught some of those lies along...So, the question is: Where is the proof? Pictures? Videos? Why would they not want those going around? Why would they not clearly explain it on their website for Everyone to understand and believe them? You know there's something there that's not right... Their trick still works on people that are hoping for that Easy Playing guitar that will play almost by itself. Well, each can make their decision but they better know if there's something shady about that company.
They are overpriced and the saddles are never right. Buy a different brand and pay for a setup. You'll be better off in the long run.
Call a spade a spade made in china 😂😂😂😂😢😢😢😢
Con artists!!

Just look up all these @users and you got an idea if this is a scam, or not.
