Thank you for making this film. Just had emergency surgery last week and have a Colostomy Bag now- Thank you COVID!! Trying to get used to it and I need to invest in a couple of these. Didn't know how they worked so thank you for the tutorial. Very much appreciated!!
That one was custom made from www.grandmas-hands.com/ but they may offer it as an option to their standard pouch covers now. I would get in touch with them to see.
Hi have you ever come across a bag cover that would be waterproof while taking a shower was an idea I thought about If your wearing a one piece pouch as Ido
Vegan Ostomy thanks so much for replying, you seem to know a bunch about this stuff and I was wondering which pouch cover you’d recommend for the common hollister two piece bag. It sags like a water balloon I just wish it would stay flatter like the Sensura Mio bags ya know? Any firmer bag covers??
I've been using these for years with the Hollister 2pc and love them (the thin cotton ones, not the thicker material) : www.veganostomy.ca/prettylittlecurls-ostomy-pouch-covers-review/
+Shubham Shukla There could be many reasons for this. First thing I'd do is to make sure that the wafer is cut to fit the stoma properly without much skin showing.
Thanks for the reply but Its very difficult to find the exact size, my stoma swells and contracts on its own.. I know it is moving intestine but don't know how to ,.
You can get the ostomy bags from Convatec Natura two piece model, they have a gel like ring around the stoma which makes it fit perfectly without leakage onto the skin. Also use the stoma paste.
I can't think of a scenario where I would need a cover, I never wear mine outside of my clothes. I still have to have my husband help me change the bag. For some reason it is leaking within hours when I do it alone. One time it stayed fir five days and I thought I had it figured out. But after that, the ones I put on refuse to stay. Last Wednesday I had to change it three times before he got home and put one in. I thunk wearing a cover would add to my frustration with that problem. ✌️❤️✌️
Pouch covers are definitely not for everyone, but so many people love them, and they are a simple way to hide the contents of your bag without having to put on a wrap or anything like that. If you've got your bag under your clothing then these are completely unnecessary. When you change your own appliance, are you able to see underneath your stoma? If you don't get that part aligned properly, you will leak! I use a tilting mirror that allows me to see right underneath that area and it really helps.
Vegan Ostomy ~ My stoma is convex, or what I call an innie, very low with no ridge at all and at times sunken in. It's kept the same shape since the day I got it a little over two years ago. It's a weird shape and I think even though I use the previous wafers plastic as a template, I might not be getting the shape cut correctly, it's the only thing I can think I would be doing wrong. Maybe some day I will figure it out. If not, I better die first lol ✌️❤️✌️
"Innies" are more complicated, but I'm sure you'll find a technique that works better for you. Knowing that you can get good wear time (even with your husband's help) is a good sign.
Vegan Ostomy hello sir,how r u,i m from pakistan, sir i have also colostomy bag but pls can u tell me that, its have new technology for bag,pls reply me,
Eric; I have a particular problem. I sent measurements to the woman who makes the covers. I am incontent of urine. I do the best i can but wear sanitary pads and a depend. That works well, but the ileostomy bag is tucked in under the depends but on top of the sanitary pads. Though my large size pouch is water proof, It is still unpleasant to handle it all wet from urine. I need a large pouch cover that is see through on the front and liquid repelant on the back. Can you suggest a person or company that would design a few for me. This way I can place my pouch over the depends and keep dry, and watch fullness. Thank you.
Hi Cleome. That is very specific, but I think you'll need to contact a seemstress perhaps to custom make something like that. I don't think any of the companies who make covers can offer that type of customization.

No problem, Chris :)
Super helpful video. Thank you!
Glad I could help 😊
I find pouch covers helpful, except for the fact that my favorite one that happened to fit a little better got lost a few months ago.
Oh no! I've had some fall off while at home (they don't work well with 1pc bags), but I'd hate to lose one. I hope you're able to get a replacement.
Where did you get the one with velcro? I like that it basically adds the functionality of the sensura mio, while I get to use any bag I like.

Thank you I'll take a look 🙋
