Nothing more important then being there for your children, especially when there hurting or worried, im a single father of 3 boys 20 15 and 13, just lastnight my oldest 20 year old went outside with no shoes on step on a broken piece rot iron, sliced his toe wide open i patched him all up, anf layed with him allnight, doesnt matter how old they are ill always put my kids first and do whatever i have to to make sure there ok, so hey if you need time off videos to be there for your daughter, who cares what anyone says, family always comes first, if anyone cant understand that then eff them,

I used to use a buck saw a lot camping and exploring. I ended up making a little leather pouch that I zip tied to the saw and I kept a small plastic wedge in it. So when I was cutting bigger trees I could wedge the cut to keep it from pinching. Just thinking out loud lol. Be safe and take care. Thoughts and best wishes to your dog!!!

Kudos for keeping me coming back for over two years now. I gotta say though, not cool walking away from the fort with the fire going. I assume you didn’t really walk away with it “live”, but setting an example for all the kids that look up to you is important.
i havent been following the series from the start and i keep wondering why, if this a base of sorts, dont you use some more permanent materials like mud over the logs for insulation instead of the tarp. Was it a rule you made when you started? Anyway it is awesome that you make these videos because i personally cant do that sort of camping in my area because the small relatively forest we have is protected because its one of the oldest virgin forests in europe
2020 really went so fast due to this pandemic. It pains me that some of our plans this year went kaput, but now we get to see Joe's winter camping adventures!!!

Winter camping the best. Just did a late fall trip a couple weeks ago to wayne national forest in Southern Ohio. It was my first backcountry trip and we learned a lot about ourselves, our gear, and the woods as well. Seriously looking forward to my next trip when I get to take the kiddos along.
So it actually ended up snowing like a week after this, but I missed it because I had to do a ton of schoolwork. Edit: and then I didn’t get the chance to ever go back to my usual forest by my house because my mom and stepdad divorced and the house was in my stepdad’s name

Great looking fort! The wampus is a real thing! My firewall has wampus issues right now. Can't afford the Boreal or a Silky yet. May have to settle for the Corona 24" for $25 to make my big cuts. My folding Corona is a gem. My Fiskars hatchet is fantastic along with my Mora Bushcraft knife. Lived in the woods for 3 months. Huge workout every day. Lost 65 lbs. I'm in great shape & easily cut firewood & haul trees for hours. Damn near killed me at first.

Folks hardly mention it, but even the little bit youre doing cleaning up dead wood, or even culling a few live ones......is healthy for the woods.
