@12:30 the Zero should be at +7 attack roll. You forgot to include the +3 TAILING. Again this just shows that there are a lot of modifiers to be aware of and some can be missed. This is why I recommend when you release the updated version of the Dog Fighting Player Aid that you include every possible modifier possible plus a note about DEFENSIVE Firing. It will just help the gamers.
Just to add to Laurence/clarify comment the roll at 13:28 actually doesn't calculate bomber's AtA and is only +6 (when it should be +7 in total as Laurence stated), unless I am missing something? Otherwise thanks for the video and your help to fellow-gamers. I picked up the game recently and enjoy it quite a bit! The theme is strong and it's fun to organise squads and feel connected to the pilots.
Chuck...i bought the miniature models for this game and Im trying to figure out how to use them (with game play mechanics). How do you discern High Altitude and Low altitude? How do you know which is the group leader and other pilots etc.?
Hello! The Emperor uses magnetic stands in two heights. To differentiate pilots, I use a d6. I put one die on the card and another on the stand with the model.
Can bombers maneuver or the gunner ones just wait to get shot down from neutral position? If not probably it could make some sense to give them special move to position themselves at D/Td position for a shot opportunity. Or since we are limited by the number of turns it was designed, so we could try to bring it down with lower chance from neutral position without putting our fighter in danger or just take the risk and position ourselves behind it for additional modifier during attack roll.
Bombers may not maneuver. Attacking fighters maneuver around them. At the end of your comment you hit on the major decision. Do I attack a gunner Bomber from a lower chance but safe neutral or do I maneuver for a better shot but risk defensive fire. There is no correct answer. Sometimes it is wise to attack neutral and sometimes you need that better shot!!
@@chuckseegert6812 Actually have another question, when an aircraft gets minor damage it suffers extra +1 stress at the end of the mission, what about "damaged", does it give any extra stress after the mission or it is just +2 but straight away when the damage is inflicted?
@@rastafari7584 That is a big difference between minor damage and damage. Minor damage gives you one stress immediately and a second one when you land. Damaged gives you both right away. That one less stress in the middle of a mission can be huge!!
@@wartable You are correct, of course!!! The Emperor got up on the wrong side of the bed, I guess. Sorry for the short answer, and thank you for the correction. I appreciate it!!!
I understand. When doing a video, I needed to verbalize all the steps. Sounds repetitive and obnoxious, however, once you do it a couple times, you do not even notice it.

@@chuckseegert6812 Thanks for fast reply! It's my first Leader game, so I'm just getting into it : )

@@chuckseegert6812 Got it, thanks for the clarification!
Just because you rolled a 10 You should still spell out why 10 is a successful attack and hit. Not just assume we know why at 10 is good.
That is covered on the player card explanation, on the dogfight sheet and in the rules. In Leader games, I believe the 10 is always good.
@@chuckseegert6812 okay, just saying…it is a tutorial video…maybe point that out in the video🤷♀️..otherwise the video is helpful 👍🏻

I wanted to like this, I enjoy the subject matter, but my eyes glossed over after ten minutes of plus 2 minus 3 plus one minus 5 etc...

You made it further than me. I bailed out after 7 mn.
Deciphering he rules is worse. Very few examples. Try to figure out a Dogfight card🤔😜
