When life gets stressful and overwhelming for our minimalist family, it's so comforting to have a home that's easy to manage and maintain; it's at least one less thing to worry about! ABOUT A TO ZEN LIFE
Along my journey to let go of 30 years of clutter, I accidentally became a minimalist and it was life-changing.
Before, I was an emotional hoarder with nothing but the clutter from lost loved ones - and $25,000 of debt - to my name. Now I have a beautiful home in Europe, a happy family, live debt-free, and - best of all - wake up to a life that I’m EXCITED to live every day.
My mission is to help you conquer your clutter and simplify YOUR way to a happier and better life. HERE'S OUR STORY: atozenlife.com...

After all you can do whatever you want on your own channel,
I'll watch every video because I like your way of talking and thinking. I admire your coolness about this situation of moving twice.. wow! And you even managed to upload a new video... I'm seriously impressed.
I wonder what solutions you came up with about the surface clutter on the table, because I have the same issue.. (or is it just discipline haha)

You should never block a window or a door with furniture, it is a terrible decoration mistake. Windows and doors have a function, should not be blocked. It looks terrible also. Same applies to furniture against walls.

When I was growing up we had TVs in every room but as an adult I’ve only ever had one in the living room. It’s nice because if we (spouse & I) really wanted to we can just use our laptops or iPads to watch something in whatever room we want without having to have additional TVs. My grandma even had one in her kitchen and I admit I do like to watch TH-cam sometimes when I’m making dinner!

@@d31an3y I think it’s relatively common for the oldest generations (my grandma is 85). Lots of women back in the day did their work in the kitchen and why not have a little background entertainment or news on as well? My grandma worked outside the home quite a bit as well but she was also into cooking & baking. My spouse said his grandma had a tv in the kitchen too.

We've never had more than one TV in our American home, but we know that's kind of unusual these days. We currently have one TV in the living room the kids can watch (like 1 hour per day, maybe). However, my husband and I do watch shows on our laptop sometimes after the kids are in bed. :) At this point in our lives, if our TV broke, we might not replace it, but would probably just have the kids watch cartoons on a laptop!

We had a similar situation when buying our first home back in the 1980s. Our house didn’t close and required a waiver.. At this point we had to move in and rent the house while waiting since it couldn’t be signed off.
It was awful….we had chosen the home and all the carpeting, etc before our honeymoon, came home, moved out of our current apartment, got to the bank to sign the paperwork to get the keys and found out the house wasn’t ready and gave us the option to rent until the waiver came through.
I remember sitting on the stairs of the bank, wondering what we were going to do, homeless now with all of our belongs in a truck 😢.
We moved in and after a few weeks, we found out the builder didn’t put a water barrier inside the walls to protect the insulation 😮Anyway, our lawyer said “move out, now!” So we had to rent a a large truck to hold all of our stuff which at the time, wasn’t much since we were newlyweds. We were out in 24 hours and had to stay at friends while we looked for a new home.
I am so sorry you had to go through this. But I love your new home! ❤ And tho I have decluttered so much these past several years, I still feel like we have too much. (decluttering gets addicting 😂) But after 38 years of marriage, I need to hang on to a few things to pass on to my kids and grandchildren ❤ Things that are important to me, pictures, etc)

maintenance guy should be able to fix that door problem. I recently remodeled and one of my bathroom doors did that. When I pointed it out the contractor, he had it fixed in a blink. I wish I had watched, but I didn't so I can't tell you what he did. I'm sure he prob just adjusted one or more of the hinges to make it sit level.

Hinges on wrong side of door jambs, methinks. ??? ALSO, check out feng shui of a mirror facing your bed, or do you cover it at night if it's attached to the dresser?

Yep yep, we cover it at night - it’s attached to the dresser, otherwise we would remove it 😅

We didn’t own a tv until we bought a home together. Then we bought one for in the living room. Last year my husband asked for one in the gym, that he uses with his computer so he can watch work videos while on the treadmill or for yoga videos.

I wonder if 1 of the 2 taller dressers in your master bedroom would have fit into the closet in your son's room who picked the room with the desk & no dresser??? ☺️ ps - I'm happy you found a nice place for you & your family to stay here in the US.

My God, if ever there's a benefit to being a minimalist and not having mountains of crap to wade through and pack it's in a circumstance like a panic move! You must feel so validated with your life choice! I can't imagine how much more of a nightmare this move might have been otherwise and I'm sure it was already stressful enough! 😅

change the hinges in the door. dont make small issues big! you just need better organization. just because you are a minimalist doesnt mean you are going to be less messy. its all about having a place for everything.
