I was in LA in '82 when he won - My Great Uncle Jack was '37 World's Champ. LA in '82' was so very exciting for Uncle Jack Milne, Ivan, and all the Speedway guys that started out in '68 at Costa Mesa Speedway. Bruce was a very good friend of mine and I've missed not seeing him around. Thanks for some great memories.
I grew up in socal and the speedway in costa mesa. From mid 70's until late 80's when I moved up to washington st. The smell of the methanol was addicting for me as a kid. We always sat on pit row me and my Uncle. Awesome times no doubt. What I remember about Penhall other than the obvious of his greatness. He was always to start back on the 20 because of his qualifying times were just too damn fast. Some jerk dumped a beer over his head while he waited for the start of the race. Man I miss it
Penhall was awesome i used to see him @ Irwindale on Thursday night's way back in 1974 when he was just starting out i can remember when he broke his leg @ Irwindale seeing him on a stretcher en route to 2 the hospital in a red&white caddillac ambulance 😂🎉❤ bruce the fox penhall hot chicks love speedway good luck trying to find a foxy chick with penhall there !!! I was there at Wembley. It was my 15th birthday! With my Dad. Treasured memory.

I was there, too! 6 years old with my dad. The atmosphere was electric! That's awesome about your Great Uncle Jack!
I raced Bruce in the late 70's in California. What a classy guy. I was so proud of him winning the world championship.
