I was hoping you’d get the Target exclusive of Onward. Being the Blu-ray collector you are, I figured you’d want to get it with a slipcover so it’ll match the rest of your Pixar collection. Me personally it doesn’t bother me so much, I have all 22 Pixar films and only 15 of them have slipcovers.
Here’s my theory of why they didn’t put a slipcover. The film was only in theaters for about a week and a half. Due to COVID-19, they had to close the theaters and move it to Disney Plus. The Blu-Ray probably came out earlier than they expected. So because of that, they probably didn’t have time to make the slip covers. That’s my theory. I don’t know if it’s true or not
Hopefully later down the line, they release a slipcover for every major retailor. Or if they have to, make the slipcover something you could get seperately on Disney Movie Rewards/Club.
I missed this one because of that pandemic distraction, I just bought a used one at my local flea market 🙂. I didn't knew much about it but once I saw that Pete Docter was involved in it I had high hopes for it and was not disappointed. Great movie and planning to get it 4K cause I bought the DVD one only. I wish I could had seen it when it came out in the theaters.

Even Pixar managed to release a movie in theaters in 2020 just barely before the Coronavirus pandemic.
Well actually the virus pandemic came before the release but the lockdown impacted it’s box office results

You don’t always need a slipcover for a Blu-ray. I had some slipcovers with some of my Blu-ray’s but I shredded them.
You shouldn't be shredding slipcovers. They are valuable.
