This is a very good mod, they've only replaced what was necessary too. Motor has gone, fixtures have gone, and doors have gone. Every credit to the engineer who set the lifts up for good levelling. They even pre door! Great video, thanks for sharing!
I agree it’s not just a pointless mod unreliability was becoming a big issue especially for the left lift but they both had issues. I know looking at the other lifts these should have been replaced by Kone but I suspect Covid drove them to go for a slightly cheaper option.
@@TheUKTransportCollection Interesting that you say that, as I believe the lifts at M&S in the same shopping centre as the lifts in this video were modded by Kone. Would be interesting to know for sure whether Covid drove them to go for Rubax, or whether it was the poor quality mod of the M&S Lifts that put them off using Kone again.
@@MichalM The Arndale themselves installed a brand new Ecodisc for the Mall refurbishment in 2019 but that was just months pre Covid even the new escalators were Kone I’d say money situation has helped decisions but can’t be certain.

These are modded Otis 2000Hs if I'm correct and the lift at the other end of the food court was a modded regular Otis 2000.
These were Kone Ecodiscs from 2001 the other lift at the other end was a Otis2000H modded by Kone but still Hydraulic
