    I was there in the crowd! Really hard boulders for both women and men! Also the boulders in the semi-finals were interesting! Those youngsters are out for blood 😂

    It was fascinating to see the different methods that all of them used to get through the first move on boulder 2. Great problems all around, really enjoyed this. And great editing, thank you so much for these.

    I really didn't think the climbing the walls that Brooke climbed was physically possible. That girl was amazing.

      Yes I know, it always takes a bit longer than what they are saying. Womens Finals are now watchable, so it's more like 48h later

    I hate pointless starting requirements like in problem 2. Literally no point in lifting your feet up, except that the setter likes seeing girls do ab exercises.

    • @nurfuerdieplaylist
      @nurfuerdieplaylist ปีที่แล้ว

      The rules state that a legal start requires 4 limbs at defined positions in a stable position, so those tape markers need to go somewhere. That's just the most economical placement, and I think these athletes can handle that one leg raise...

  • @youcube6317
    @youcube6317 ปีที่แล้ว +47

    This has less and less to do with climbing. These are injury-prone circus events. The route setters think only of the spectators and not enough of the athletes.

      @@mattified2784guess the first boulder was ok, but all the other boulders were wether extremely dynamic or sloppy or both. sometimes it feels like boulder is more of parcour then climbing.

    Isn't who goes first to try is in disadvantaged because the other athletes can learn from previous athletes's mistakes?

    • @denthap313
      @denthap313 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      Technically athletes will not be able to see each other because they will be secluded in another room. Practically, athletes will hear the crowds and potentially see previous chalk marks if not cleaned well.

    • @dennethdjinn1329
      @dennethdjinn1329 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@denthap313 theoretically the chalk could give false information though if previous athletes have had the wrong/worse beta. Any disadvantage from going first would be extremely minimal from what I've seen.

    • @RimshotKiller
      @RimshotKiller ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@dennethdjinn1329 Also, the routesetters will slap some chalk on the holds before the first athlete comes out, so I guess it's not always easy to see which marks were there before and which were left by the athletes themselves.

    • @PelleKuipers
      @PelleKuipers ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@RimshotKiller To add onto this: the routesetters need to try the routes themselves, so there will be chalk everywhere. They of course need to try the route itself but also see if there's any beta that might circumvent the crux for example.
