- Ride along a (quick) tour of Wheeling, West Virginia!
Quarantine 2020 has consisted of a lot of drives through Downtown and different parts of Wheeling. Every time on the tour it seems like we find something different or exciting. If you are unable to make it to the Friendly City this year feel free to enjoy our tour!
Filmed on December 19, 2020.
On-ramp of Bridgeport, Ohio to exit Downtown Wheeling Main Street then out to Center Market. Passing through the Historical District then back to East Wheeling. Riding along 14th Street down to the Waterfront. Up !2th Street to circle around to sightsee up Market Street to North Wheeling and over the hill into Fulton. National Road takes you through Fulton into Woodsdale. Passing through Woodsdale into Dimmeydale and ending in Elm Grove. Ending our tour just before dusk traveling the hill to Bethlehem.
Total ride time 57 minutes shaved down to 8 minutes of footage.

I just visited Wheeling and you can see what a beautiful bustling city it once was. I love the ornate architecture of the old city buildings. I wish it could make a come back! I really enjoyed my time there!
You got it right...a city it ONCE was. Not any more. More like a ghost town. I remember 65 years ago when it looked like New York City with all the stores and people. So sad.
Looks just like Switzerland
An enjoyable drive. Wheeling is working at historic restoration and has a lot of potential! On a beautiful sunny day, the city is considerably more attractive with its river views , interesting buildings and lovely Wheeling Park and nearby Oglebay Park.
I'm from Greece, but my Grandfather was there as an immigrant. He died before i was born so i dont know many things about this town, But my dream is to visit once in my life . Without to know why, wheeling have a place in my heart.
Where my grandmother stays at. Love dicarlos pizza and the run down city!
Say what you will about it, but it's in a pretty location, and it's just an hour from Pittsburgh and a couple of hours from Columbus.
I live in downtown Wheeling. The Friendly City. I love this town. River rats rule! lol

Having always lived in southern West Virginia I have only been to Wheeling once.

It looks like it's about all torn down. Awful, just awful from the Wheeling in 60's & 70's. Hardly recognize where things are. Driving way too fast with no camera action but thanks anyhow.
They tear down businesses to put in parking lots. No shortage of parking lots.
Is it easy to drive in this place?
At the moment with all the construction going on it's a bit of a nightmare.
