cheers for answering my question mate, appreciate it! good to know that you can still have a good social life outside of the football as that’s an important factor for me
What is the difference in player from Missouri State to Drury? (TOP D1 to D2) Is it noticeable that D1 players are much better and what do they do differently compared to D2 players? Do they train more, more gym, more running, etc.?
i started soccer late so i didnt really have time to develop enough to point where i could play at a high level, however im 18 now and have been developing as i play for a high level amatuer league where alot of former pros and college players play in. i hope to move up the soccer ladder by getting into a semi pro team by tryouts , etc. but it can be so unmotivating at times
Q/A: I don't know how much you know about your teammates and so on but from your knowledge, about how much does a typical scholarship cover? Like do most players get at least some scholarship or do the best players get big scholarships while the worse players get nothing?
I believe that it's kind of done on a priority system. The better players are more likely to get a higher scholarship. Some players do get nothing, however most get at least a little.
Q and A? Did most of your teammates from High school soccer/ Academy go to college soccer or a higher level. What percent of your upper youth teammates went into a higher level?
Yes, but it will be a tough road. I was never in an Academy and managed to get into the 15th ranked D1, however it meant sacrificing that I may not play much initially.
@@lotgriff good to know ! Thank you for the quick answers. Your videos help a lot being in France and not really being able to do much to get on coaches radars but emails and videos, so thanks for that.
Q: since a D1/2 team can only give out 9.9 scholarships, is it normal the coach spreads it out across all players? Or give some full ride (in ur experience)
Some students still get full ride it's just that they get some from the athletic funds on the school and the rest their grades and test scores determine how much of an addition to their athletic scholarship they will get.
Q: I'm a junior at highschool with no club or academy experience, no highlights at all, but I'm really determined and confident that I can make a d3 or even d2 school, is it going to be extremely hard to play college soccer for me or are tryouts and showcases my best bet?
If you have no way of getting game footage, then your best bet probably is tryouts and showcases! Just make sure you are going in to things with the right mindset!
Hi I’ve been looked at by academies and gone to trials before and got invited back but then corona happened and it was called off I play top division football in my county area for the past few years. Do you think this is around the level to get into a low d3.

@@lotgriff Oh i didn't realise what did you ask, sorry. I meant like can he recommend you to them or tell them something good about you that can maybe change their mind or maybe get them more confident about choosing you

Q: I have the opportunity to go to the US but only would be able to go there for 6 months because I'm already in college in another country, do you think it would be realistic to get on a team for only 6 months?
I'm not sure whether that would be the best decision for you. Could be a lot of work for little return. But depends on what you want and the current situation you're in.
@@lotgriff Thanks for answering, just a quick follow up: I'm probably going to study there anyway since it is sort of mandatory to study abroad for at least 6 months. You've never experienced anyone only being in the team for 6 months? And what do you exactly mean by much work for little return?
@@rtm8723 No I haven't heard of that before and I just meant it can be a lot of paperwork etc and I guess you may not be able to break into the squad in 6 months
