  • Congressman Kim and community members Yvonne Hill (daughter of Laura Wooten), and Joseph Bilby (Curator at the National Guard Militia Museum of New Jersey) discussed the importance of Black History Month in New Jersey and across the nation, the legacy of Sergeant George Ashby, the last surviving New Jersey Civil War veteran who passed in 1946, and the legacy of Laura Wooten, the longest-serving volunteer election poll worker in Mercer County and the state of New Jersey.
