I support police but this one action against this poor officers is completely nonsense. You cannot dismiss this ones here while your men are everywhere collecting toll from poor innocent transporters.

The assumption that this happened because she was a foreigner was untrue. It happened because there is an evidence(a video) proving that they conducted that act. A video of policemen in portharcourt harassing a man, and his wife ended up this way, too. one should try and get evidence to prove a case against them, especially video.

Instead of dismissing these officers and denying their dependents a means of livelihood, you could just suspend these officers for a time period, which is consumerate with their offense.
Dismissing the officers is not reasonable from the Nigerian context, hence these officers should appeal this judgment for a lesser punishment.

The judgement was harsh because there was hardcore evidence of them requesting for money from a traveler… even if na play, they seemed a bit tad aggressive about it at some point… that’s when it turns to harassment.

I have been to different police station Area command to report cases but all the time i get discouraged because the IPO's are always asking for money before they take any action and i ended up leaving the station without solution.the system needs to a reformation.

The money generates by this rank/files are not solely for them alone, they deliver to their DPO’s and the DPO’s deliver to Their superiors (SP, AC,DC,CP, AIG,IG). This disciplinary action emanated from Norally’s video on one of her bikers trip through Nigeria. The officers here were seen openly and shamefully asking this traveler to give them money. I hope this disciplinary action is not limited to this two only.
Let me add, that the said traveler is a White Female from the Netherlands 🇳🇱 who is a biker that rides her bike round the world. I suspect the Nigerian police took this action as a form of eye service using these officers as scape goats.
