    "Manchurian gland" is actually a pretty rad name for a loyalty-subverting bit of biotech.

    The 'Ghost of Yarrick' should pop up not to save the Imperium when they are losing...he should pop up when the Orks are beating the Guard so easily its no fun...

      I like the proposal in the video: the Ghost of Yarrick shows up whenever the Orks are losing, because nobody beats the Orks but Bale Eye.

    I hate that part of the Ork lore so substitute my own headcanon.
    The whole 'Ork weapons work due to a gestalt psychic field' is being seen from the Mechanicum (and therefore the Imperium's) perspective. That piece of lore is the Mechanicum trying to shoehorn reality to fit their religious dogma rather than changing their dogma to fit observations (don't forget the Mechanicum are just as much religious zealots as the Imperium, they just pretend to be scientists and engineers).
    The Mechanicum dogma (and a core tenet of belief) is that "things work because they're inhabited with a Machine Spirit or part of the Omnissiah" but the Omnissiah would never assist the Orks so why do Ork weapons work?
    Ork weapons must have something similar to a Machine Spirit but (obviously) not as good as a proper God (because they're filthy Xenos) therefore Orks must have some kind of psychic field which fills in the role of a Machine Spirit/Omnissiah. The reality is that Ork weapons work because of physics and chemistry but that would challenge the Mechanicum's dogma hence the "psychic field" BS.
    Also, (to borrow from Terry Pratchett) Orks can count above 5; they count 1,2,3,4, lotz, lotz 1, lotz 2, lotz 3, lotz 4, lotz lotz 1, lotz lotz 2, and so on up to "lotz lotz lotz lotz", then "many," many 1, many 2, etc

      AdMech player here and yeah, you might be right!
      Just like the rest of the Imperium, their ability to use logic is being crushed under the weight of 10,000 years of Imperial propaganda.
      E.g. The Imperium thinks that the Tau must have mind control powers, because Imperial citizens keep defecting to join the Tau. They know Tau aren't psykers, though, so the mind control powers must be pheremone-based. The Imperium's propaganda is so absolute that they can't or won't admit the obvious truth- the Imperium is a shitty place to live for a LOT of people, and some of those people want out.

    See, I think the entire universe just works that way, it's just that most species don't believe as ridiculous things as Orks do. So, they just think it's a logical orderly universe and that's what they end up creating around them. But Chaos shows this actually isn't the case, which is why it's such a threat. So, much so that the rational species have gone so far as to classify chaos into types (and thus making it so), when really it's all just utter madness.
    Edit: How else could it be that rules change so often?

    My opinion on the Ork belief thing is it alters probability. A crappy gun fires 1/100 times, but Orkish belief makes it fire every time. Red cars don’t typically go faster, but Orkish belief makes it so. But it can’t make a stick fire bullets, nor can it make a red box go zoom.

      @nickdziura7373 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think the thing with it is that Orks are incredibly stubborn and incredibly dumb. Its very hard to convince them of anything.
      Also I think there's a limit to it, because at a certain point even an ork has to accept a gun is broken, and they have some level of awareness that guns use bullets, so they run out eventually

      @Candlemancer 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Pretty much this. It warps reality ever so slightly to smooth out the edges of improbability, it doesn't just make impossible things happen for no reason just because "they believe".
      That said I'm still 100% in favour of Green Knight Yarrick just because the Orks believe it.

    • @yakobsoulstorm5187
      @yakobsoulstorm5187 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Candlemancer That’s not “impossible” though. We know other figures of belief can exist, so in this way it’s entirely feasible.

    In the Ghazghkull book it's called "The Green," by Makari. However, the biggest issue is that Ghaz, he says that the Emperor is dead, he mentions it in the book. Make of that what you will but it's there and what he says is gospel to Orks. Makari also reveals what's been up with him in the book and it him and The Green.
    Maybe more spoiling.
    I liked the book, but the one thing I would disagree with was Ghaz getting his new body. Too much Frankenstein's monster for my liking to be Orky to do artificial body growth, not by krump'n.

    I like the idea that Primaris-ification had like a 50% fatality rate at first, and the Apothecaries are working to bring that number down.
    That's why Primaris-scale Terminators took like 5 years; all the 1st company veterans looked at that 50% mortality rate and said "let the new guys go first."

    • @Ninjat126
      @Ninjat126 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Meanwhile with Calgar, Crawl went "let's practice the Primaris-ifcation surgery on this guy, I mean he's dead anyway."
      Then Calgar miraculously survives and now Cawl has to pretend it's a good idea to Primaris-ify dying marines because the alternative is admitting that he was trying to use Calgar as a guinea pig.

    Afaik, its said that it only applies to very specific things like the weapons and vehicles built by the orks and the colours they wear. Yarrick could be said to be an exception, however he was a badass before the orks saw him as the toughest human. After all, he killed a big ol’ warboss with a chainsword and one of his arms gushing blood from the stump
