@@CraftyMagicDollz I think because 4 had a unique facemold, so any similar doll would need to have that mold. You couldn’t just mash together parts from other TM dolls

I have three Create Your Own dolls, so those are obviously the most rare because I made them myself, but in terms of dolls that have been produced, I have a white body Molly with factory braids, a first edition Felicity and Josefina, and a Truly Me 43. Those are my rarest ones.
Nice collection. I own all the dolls you mentioned in this video except Gabriella. Total 18” AG dolls ~40. My most rare doll is my childhood white body Samantha. She is my fist doll and the one that I’d never part with. I do plan to make some wefts to sew into her original wig. Her hair has seen lot of love. My next most rare is my #4 with pie bangs. She’s my favorite modern doll Miki Mai.
My mom got me Marie Grace and a just like me American girl for Christmas one year, from what I could remember, they did a half off sale (which is 100% the only reason I got two AGs lol), only the mini me doll was on my wishlist but I was so shocked to get Marie Grace! I still have both of them but I’ll be honest, Marie Grace’s hair bothers me so much 😭

I think Kanani was popular during her year because of her hair. The original Felicity had long hair too, but not as long as Kanani's. I brought her to my classroom and the girls had a waiting list to take her home for a weekend. (I had a number of AG dolls in the classroom but Kanai was the most popular.) I wound up buying her complete set, mostly in pieces. She is a lovely doll.

I think popularity and high value of the dolls has a lot to do with the actresses that play the live-action versions of the characters. I have friends who purchased "Ruthie" not because Madison Davenport played her in the Kitt Kittredge movie, but because she went on to star in a number of horror movies like The Possession, Parasomnia and as Kate Fuller in the Dusk Til Dawn TV series.
Fun fact possession was filmed across the street from me and my house is in the trailer haha! I could see that for Grace, but many of the dolls that are popular didn’t get movies.
When I was a kid a had a sonoli but when I was 16 I really needed the money so I sold her for basically nothing (I didn’t know how much she was worth) and I still am kicking myself for it. I did end up replacing her recently but I definitely paid top dollar for her.
I think my rarest doll I own is JLY #4 from 2004 but I also own caroline, kanani, mia, Chrissa and lanie and a pleasant company felicity who’s in brand new condition and I found my Chrissa brand new in box a couple months ago for $100
I completely agree with your list for character dolls. I was surprised you didn’t include Ivy though. I have never seen Ivy (w/ or w/ out box) sell for less than $140 US. I was fortunate to win the auction for my Ivy (who did come with her box) for $150, but I have seen people who paid upwards of $459 on eBay for an Ivy NIB. Also, to answer your inquiry, out of my own collection, my most valuable dolls are Ivy, Caroline, my mint Lanie, and my Pleasant Company Molly.
I own Kanani, & Gabby , but my most expensive doll’s are Sonali, Cecile , and JLY #18.. Even though Kanani is still coveted her pricing had dropped in the last year, you’d be surprised what she goes for unless she’s MIB, out of box ok condition less than a &100, but Cecile has become very expensive now, and Sonali’s prices never wavered , currently she’s much more pricey than Kanani . JLY 18’s expensive, because she’s very rare that to find in good condition. Also I’m sure Gabby’s prices might drop significantly after AG’s flash sale this weekend offering Gabby deluxe set for 119, hopefully she’ll maintain .

But I have a very early pleasant company Kristen that I found on mercari for 20 bucks, I eventually want to hunt down her meet outfit. I'd love to find Marie Grace, Cecile, or Elizabeth one day they are definitely on my wish list.

My 1987 Molly is worth $1200, my 1987 Dreamer Molly is worth $1400, my signed Kirsten from 1989 is worth $1000, and I have a few others worth around $500!
I have Marie Grace and 2 Kananis. One is so bad I got her for $20. I'm going to send her in to the hospital. and though I know she'll be different, she'll be perfect. I also just got Caroline in a lot. I'm looking forward to adding her to my collection. I've only seen a Ruthie for sale once. I love Kit so maybe one day I'll add her to the collection.
I'm very very grateful to own a Kanani and Marie Grace! I do also own a Lea but I'm not sure if that's worth as much. I love looking for good deals on dolls, and that is how I got my Kanani for $55! I'm very proud of that, and I hope you all get the dolls you want!

I would disagree that Lainie is valuable. She IS retired but I've seen (in my experience) so many people trying to be rid of their lanies, it's not even funny. It's interesting how much I feel like people hate that poor doll 😭

I am French and Native American. In English Her name is Marie....Ma-ree, not Mary. Marie is, however, the French version of Mary.....so you would just say Mary with a slight roll. So, in short....Marie if English...Mary if French :)

I just googled it and she was only retired last year so maybe not so valuable then, I bought her (28) second hand and she's a really old version which is probably why I think she's old.

I love Ruthie. Her wig is a stunning dark brown with a very subtle reddish-purple tint and her curls are gorgeous.

Oh these are just dolls I own! I don’t own Ivy and that’s why she isn’t on the list. Same with signed or white body dolls

Lea is not rare at all. so is all of the other ones. maybe Ruthie is a little bit rare cuz I don't have her.
