Hi there, I apologize that I didn't include the clipboard when I recording this video. Richard Walton asked a similar question about how to find the contents of SuApprovalList in the clipboard. You can read his comment and the replies.
"you can find the contents of SuApprovalList using the clipboard by creating a new case --> go through steps until you reach your approval step --> open your clipboard --> pyWorkPage --> pxFlow --> click pxFlow(pyCascadingGetApproval) (Embed-PegaEPRO-FlowPage), and you will see there is a property named "pxRouteTo". The value of that property is your approver ID. Also, if you click "pxFlow(pxCascadingApproval)(Embed-PegaEPRO-FlowPage)", you will see "pyApproversList" which contains one or more subpages depending on how many people/approver ID needed to approve this case. Click on each page, you will be able to view the contents of your approver IDs under the approval list. "

Thank you very much for very informative demonstration, and if I may why the first cell of the first line has to be blank you emphasized?

    • @sustudypega8841
      @sustudypega8841  3 ปีที่แล้ว

It doesn't have to be blank. Depending on what your or your client's requirement is. For example, in this video, Pega academy challenge is asking us to route the task to the manager NO MATTER WHAT the vendor's name is. By leaving the first line blank, I'm telling Pega that you need to route the task to the manager whatever the vendor's name is.
However, if your task is to route a case to the manager when the vendor's name is "ABC", then you will have to fill out the first line by "ABC".
      Hope that makes sense :)

@@sustudypega8841 Thank you very much in deed for your inputs.
May ask another question in relation to create custom Edit Validate, how to relate to the Field Value such as in one of the example in TIN or SSN?

@@sarkong6687 Hi there, you can use Live UI to restrict user input (e.g. TIN must contain a 9 digit number). So first click live UI and select the field. On the right panel, you will see a Template and different sections you have. Find the field that you want to apply Edit Validate (Here let's use TIN as an example). Click the pencil next to TIN field. There are two tabs: General and Presentation. You can make this field Reqired under general tab. Then go to Presentation tab, under Editable Settings, you will see "Min characters" and "Max characters". By entering 9 for both fields, you are telling Pega that users can only enter a 9 digit value here. Hope that makes sense!

@@sustudypega8841 thank you very much for the information. I have been utilizing TIN ideas and configured as per your mentioned. I could not link between Field Value and the custom Edit Validate that I have created. So in order to meet the business requirements with messages, I wrote java codes to display specific message for each u field.
May I sincerely thank you again for your guidance.
      Take care

Hi , thank you for the video may i ask how can i use workqueue's and operators in the decision table at the same time because pega gives some errors if i use workqueue's for the return value

A bit confused. the List of Approvers contains Approver Ids. However when you changed the Property type from Text to PageList, the class you provided was the Work Class NewVendor.
    How???
Then the note about not having ApproverId property and creating it of Type Text is even more confusing. I thought our objective is to store List of Approvers only on the Case. A Value List should have been used, no? It seems extreme to create ApproverId property on the Work Class, and then for storing list of Approvers for Case, store a List of type Work Class and use its Approver Id property. IF we want to use Class for Page List, maybe Operator is better option for the Page List.
Thanks in advance for any explanation.

The question I have is how can I see the contents of "Su Approval List" after the decision table has executed? I have tried to find it in the clipboard and find it using the tracer. Is it possible to find the contents of the Su Approval List page list in the clipboard or using the tracer? Also I was thinking the page list contents could be stored in the database. Since I use the pega academy cloud version of pega I know of no way to search the pega academy cloud version of pega. I had not trouble of getting the same results you got when I repeated your steps. I though it would be could know how to find what is in the Su Approval List page list for debugging purposes in future problems I might incounter. Thus the reason for my question.
Keep up the good work. I worked thru 2 of you videos this week and will continue with the other videos as time permits. One of the main reasons I like your videos over most of the utube videos on Pega is I can understand your English (because it sounds like the English spoken in the United States).

I'm so glad that you are following along and asking awesome questions! I truly appreciate your dedication. You are definitely encouraging me to make better videos. So, thank you!
Back to your question, you can find the contents of SuApprovalList using the clipboard by creating a new case --> go through steps until you reach your approval step --> open your clipboard --> pyWorkPage --> pxFlow --> click pxFlow(pyCascadingGetApproval) (Embed-PegaEPRO-FlowPage), and you will see there is a property named "pxRouteTo".
As for the Tracer, I'm not entirely sure. If I find something that's helpful, I will come back and update you :)
I came to the U.S. for college a couple years ago. Thanks for the compliment!
