    Pipe and joints laid directly into concrete?? I know very little about groundwork but if I was having a pool built I'd insist they put the pipework in something accessible!

    Wow what an absolute nightmare. I'm a pool and spa tech in Australia. It's crazy how bad some contractors do work and not think about future repairs for us

    What a nightmare. I know nothing about indoor pool plumbing, but I am surprised it was under reinforced concrete and not some sort of accessible conduit or something.

  • @Chrisk427

    nice work, do you think leaks more often in the compression fittings than the glue joints?

    • @OriginalLeakDetective
      @OriginalLeakDetective  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I hate compression joints that are not accessible. Any movement in the ground over time can cause them to leak 👌🕵‍♂️

    So when the leak is fixed what do you use if not concrete to cover them?

    • @davidfarrant4023
      @davidfarrant4023 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Pea shingle then concrete on the top 100-120 mm I'd say

  • @ipanzerschrecku4732
    @ipanzerschrecku4732 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Wouldn't it be easier to install a think liner in all pipes from the start because they other joints are just going to fail and leak. But I guess this way to more time and cost more money. They do quite fancy thin liners that are blown in. We had a liner install in a rental property where the tenant had managed to drill several holes in a downpipe so instead of tearing everything down they install a liner blown in much like a reverse male contraceptive just inside the pipe.

    Pipes WILL leak eventually, Who came up with the idea of burying that into concrete? All piping work i ever did was either in loose soil or in a trench, so i can get to it later on.
