Are you saying this game is good and you like it (genuinely asking)? I never understood these people who think anything under an 8, or hell a 9, is a bad review. 7.5 is a good score.
MrGaming679 yep, current uncharted Games actually have way too much climbing and talking, this is the biggest reason I never managed to finish uncharted 4.
BeeMilk meme or not, uncharted Games have converted in to climbing movies. for some reason it just doesn't feel right that lackluster game like uncharted 4 gained almost perfect score from everyone, I mean seriously when we have games like bloodborne, Dark Souls 3, shadow of mordor, Horizon Zero Dawn etc how can this crap even compete?
Look I'm not trying to hate on Marty, but whoever decided that someone who clearly didn't really dig U4 should review the expansion should get fired... He gave Lego Star Wars, one of the simplest most repetitive and derivative games I've played in a long time a 9, but complained about this being repetitive. If the guy doesn't like 3rd person action games, and prefers walking simulators and kids games that's totally fine, but don't assign him to review U4 for one of the biggest gaming outlets, it's honestly misrepresenting the experience to the largest possible audience. Saying things like "mindless ai" and "boring open world" make me feel like the guy played a totally different game.
The last thing Uncharted needs is an open world. People may not always get it, but the linearity in Uncharted 4 was brilliant and complex. It even felt more free than all those open world games that urge you to choose a path, leaving others undiscovered and in the end, have you wandering around bored because you leveled too far and nothing is challenging or interesting although the story is far from over.
This is the most visually stunning game i've ever played. It's more visually stunning than Journey, in my opinion. The elephant scenes were simply breath taking. Very solid game.
In the open world, if you collect enough of the large golden coins, you can acquire the Queens Ruby which allows you to locate in-world treasures more easily.

Just finished the game. Was a lot better than I expected. It gets better in the later chapters. The final chapter is top notch. It's a more tightly crafted experience than 4 which I liked. There are some occasional slow moments with some tricky puzzles, but fun overall. Some may not like the semi open world chapter early on, but is necessary.
It had an open world area in the game for no reason. You just have to tediously drive while awkwardly bumping into air to get from A to B. The uncharted series only works when it's linear.
I have heard multiple people claim that the open world area introduced in chapter 4 is empty but I have to respectfully disagree. The reviewer failed to mention the sidequest in the area along with the lock crates, photo opportunities, optional conversations, optional encounters, and treasures that can be found there. Not really sure what he was expecting.
Yeah, I understand its only one persons view of the game, but Godammit Marty, feel like you dropped the ball on this one. I've never played an Uncharted game where I would rate it so low, not even the PS Vita game. The cinematic visuals and great storytelling of the series would make me give it an 8 at the very least, before even playing any of it.
Hmmm... I'm curious if you actually got the "side quest" in that open world area. The little hill with the column against it IS accessible. The whole open world area had like 15 mini puzzles all over the place to complete. Some of them were pretty fun too. Would be a shame if you missed it all. If you open a specific window on the tower you will get a little ? on your map. Go there...
I completed this yesterday after playing it for the first time spread over 2 weeks - loved it! Epic! I especially loved that last action-packed train car-chase scene - from smooth & creative game mechanics to fun action it definitely blew away an ol' timer like me! I give it 9/10.
IGN, you feeling okay? Uncharted 2 is my favorite and I finished Uncharted Lost Legacy yesterday and this title is right up there with Uncharted 2. This was amazing.
I bought Lost Legacy BECAUSE I wanted more of Uncharted and it did not disappoint. It was familiar enough to jump right into , yet different enough to surprise and entertain me every step of the way. The Uncharted games aren't about detailed combat mechanics and varied game play styles, it about the characters and the story. i loved it and would recommend it to any Uncharted fan.
Just because it's "been done before" doesn't make it bad or doesn't make it unique. I think each uncharted game while they at their cores are the same are all slightly unique too. Not to mention each game is really a character study in all reality. To get to play as Chloe was enough for me anyways. :)
This is IGN at it's worst. I loved Uncharted Lost Legacy, it might not have been as big or quite as dramatic as Uncharted 4 but I found it the most polished game in the whole franchise(And I love them all, especially Uncharted 2).
People are expecting this be Uncharted 5 or something. It's an expansion. A $40 expansion. I still think it looks great! Always liked Chloe as a character so I'm glad she's back, after being absent from U4. Never really cared for Nadine, though. Don't know why she's here but if the story can give me a change of heart, then I'm all for it. I'm excited for this.
IGN uses a biased rating system in which they don't compare the actual game to all the games in the market that belongs to the same/relative genres, but instead they based the rating mostly on whether or not lost legacy exceeded their expectations from Uncharted 4. To be honest, this game definitely deserves a 8+ rating by itself. 7.5 is a little underrated.
I shouldn't be shocked it's IGN. But then again an open world with absolutely nothing is cool for like 10 minutes until you realize the eye candy is done and theirs nothing else there.
As somebody that's actually played all the uncharted games, including TLL, this is an accurate review. The game was hollow compared to other Uncharted's. I'm not saying Call of Duty deserves all the 9's like I keep seeing people compare it to, but if TLOU is a 10, then this is a 7.5.
This game was awesome and made me love Chloe and Nadine as a team. Found myself cheering them on out loud (don't judge me). Highly recommend especially if you loved uncharted 4
Picked it up for 10 bucks and some change. Great game but I agree with the reviewer: If you've played the previous entries there's nothing new to see here. I just grabbed it to complete the collection.
Chicco PlayZ only an Xbox fanboy would say that he is a Sony fanboy for saying that and IGN review (which are all retarted it doesn't matter the game) is bad. You are an Xbox fanboy and because he said it about Lost Legacy not a COD game having a bloody 9 you call him a Sony fanboy. Go back to your moms basement.
Guys stop being salty and stop caring about ratings so much , hes a reviewer he has hes opinion , we have ours .The important thing in a review its not the rating its the things hes got to say about the game .Gamespot gave tlou 1 my favourite game an 8 that doesnt mean i will say they dont know about games etc they just have theyre opinion even when it comes to amazing games that almost everyone loves.
7.5 is good. People need to remember reviews are opinions. Remember. Reviews don't have to justify your purchase guys. You can still buy this game and not feel bad about.
What people don't seem to get is that reviews are just opinions. He gave a very well-rounded and fair review, I get that IGN has had their issues with reviews in the past, but you have to remember that each reviewer is probably gonna give this game a different score. If a reviewer's opinion is really important to you, you should watch multiple reviews to get the general consensus.
I'd like to hear some honest thoughts on this: Can Uncharted games be improved at all? Is there any way to make it feel like a new experience or has ND hit its peak??
That crate scene was hilarious because of how surprising it was and this video spoils it completely without even showing the whole joke. That was one of my favorite moments in the entire franchise and this video robs that of anyone who hasn't played it yet.
yeah Uncharted 2 was revolutionary, everything else has just been minor additions to the formula, sure 3 and 4 are better mechanically but playing them will never feel like the first time I played Uncharted 2
having played this game i can see why this got so many downvotes. its a fantastic game, deserves so much more than a 7.5, when you consider your average game gets in the 8's, this was scored lower than a lot of much inferior games. ill be watching out for the reviewer from now on cannot take him seriously or his points
The game is only "open World" for one chapter, out of 11. And that chapter is filled with treasures, photo ops, hidden conversation, a complete optional submission that gives you a unique item (helping you finding other hidden treasures throughout the game) and IGN calls that empty and unrewarding? Mmhkay...
What did you expect? An open world game? Uncharted has always been linear and this game is no exception. The open world criticism is too harsh in my opinion.
IGN has kind of lost my trust with their review scores in recent years. They're still truthful, but surprisingly, I find myself criticizing them for giving me an unreasonably fearful mindset when I didn't really have anything to worry as a long-time fan of most game franchises they review. I really don't care if The Lost Legacy has recycled Uncharted gameplay. I'm game for a classic Uncharted game any day if there's at least one difference from the previous games, and the main difference with this game is all too satisfying and interesting for me.
Did he even play this game! And I don't remember there being open world that looks this good in any other uncharted game! It's a story based adventure no need to side missions and I bet there are loads of collectables.
I think they could have gone deeper with the backstory of the two main characters.. maybe flashbacks like in Uncharted 4... to me, This is the only thing missing in The lost legacy : a full understanding of the past of the main characters.
Gamespot gave it a 9, and they are usually less generous than IGN. I think it really depends on what you expect from the game. And I think Marty just expected too much innovation, whereas I just want more content in a familiar Uncharted manner. So I'm going to ignore his opinion and give it a go anyway! I'm sure it will be better IMO.
I've have never been so disagree to IGN's review, but I just gotta post a comment here. I just finished the game, for me it's surely among the best of the series, much better than Uncharted 1, and even better than 3 at some parts. Criticizing it being too similar to Uncharted 4? What the heck... It's a story DLC of Uncharted 4 to begin with anyway... And by the way, am I the only one who enjoy Chloe as much as Nathan? I thought she is one hell of a character, a character with great story and background.
Lol at all the kids who got offended. When are you going to realize REVIEWS ARE OPINIONS. This man explained exactly why he gave the score he did. you could argue against them but its all subjective. NO ONE IS RIGHT OR WRONG.
This game was so much better then 4. The action, the exploring was much much better and also the characters carried it so well. Proof uncharted can live on without drake.
What are you talking about? The open world section did reward us. If you do the optional thing by going around collecting all the tokens you get a bracelet that notifies you when you're near treasure. Did you even play it mate?
As an AVID fan of the Drake series, and considering I have not been up on my game releases for a while, it's aw to see another Drake instalment, of course !! There SEEMS to be one issue or one point to consider and that (this is clearly mentioned in IGN's review here ), SEEMS to have the look of a lot of elements, landscapes, features etc taken and used from all the wealth of material from the previous Uncharted games; I would only guess that any company, to push the game out sooner, could definitely fall back on environmental elements that no one is going to recall very well, say, going back to the first, the ORIGINAL Drake. Also, the sheer amount of environments, challenges, or scale up a beautiful temple challenge could feel definitely like deja vu. I really hope that I am completely wrong because I will still purchase the new game I just hope to see some more innovation but that is a challenge at this point in the series with so much sorry material that could be recycled. That being said, thanks IGN for your always, great reviews ; looking forward to see the new games and the potential content.
Tbh I think Hellblade deserves it, sure it's buggy for some but it tackles and try's to portray a sensitive subject. Mental health, and they did it in a cool and respectful way I suffer from mental health myself and it's great to see them try show how it can and could be. And gotta remember it is essentially an indie game just AAA in terms of graphics.
I really want them to make a full blown Sully origin story. I think it could be really cool! Or if they made an official Nathan Drake origin into a full game that would be cool too.
Good job Marty, I give your review a 5 out of 10. Too similar to your other reviews and not enough new material that left me disappointed and sad knowing this was another by the numbers write-up.
Lost Legacy is one of the best games ever graphics, story, climbing, puzzles and everything is amazing about this game, just brilliant game and got PlayStation hit reward deserved it. 10/10 for me one of the best games ever!
I liked how it played in the original reveal trailer, it was slower paced and much more up close and personal. That's what I was excited for. This is just Uncharted 4 again.
Ok, I haven't played any of the Uncharted games. It's crazy because I HAVE played Tomb Raider and Rise of the Tomb Raider and I love them both. So since this has a Tomb Raider vibe, I'm still gonna get it and play it.
so this gets a 7.5 for being too similar to UC4, but the majority of COD games get above a nine? I call bullshit

This^^^^^^
7.5 is good.
People need to remember reviews are opinions.
Remember. Reviews don't have to justify your purchase guys. You can still buy this game and not feel bad about.
ENSeventea
Not good when COD games get 8-9 while actual good masterpiece like this only get 7.5
different reviewers
ENSeventea shut up
There are such things as ill-advised opinions
Gamer Lycan infinite warfare got shot on by ign lol
What people don't seem to get is that reviews are just opinions. He gave a very well-rounded and fair review, I get that IGN has had their issues with reviews in the past, but you have to remember that each reviewer is probably gonna give this game a different score. If a reviewer's opinion is really important to you, you should watch multiple reviews to get the general consensus.
This is a unique standalone experience! Love this game so much and it stands apart from uncharted 4 in its own way! 10/10 for me
7.5! It's a standalone dlc,not uncharted 5 smh ign will never change
you gonna cry?
You have got to give them credit though, they managed to make this an actual good game considering their time frame.
I'd like to hear some honest thoughts on this: Can Uncharted games be improved at all? Is there any way to make it feel like a new experience or has ND hit its peak??
This was one of the best games in the series. Ign you’ve let me down.
this is exactly what I was worried about. As A huge fan of the series (U2 is the best game of PS3) I didn't think they would change it up enough
Now all we need is a sully dlc
That crate scene was hilarious because of how surprising it was and this video spoils it completely without even showing the whole joke. That was one of my favorite moments in the entire franchise and this video robs that of anyone who hasn't played it yet.
Wow, harsh score... I got this game two days ago and I’ve found nothing disappointing about it. I’m amazed at how perfect it is. Should be a 10/10.
The last part of the game, the train stage, deserves a 12/10 on its own.
no uncharted can surpass uncharted 2
King Of Fiction, 👌👌👌 you speak the truth
Yup yup yup! 👌
Uncharted 4 did.
4*
yeah Uncharted 2 was revolutionary, everything else has just been minor additions to the formula, sure 3 and 4 are better mechanically but playing them will never feel like the first time I played Uncharted 2
having played this game i can see why this got so many downvotes. its a fantastic game, deserves so much more than a 7.5, when you consider your average game gets in the 8's, this was scored lower than a lot of much inferior games. ill be watching out for the reviewer from now on cannot take him seriously or his points
2:22 I totally fell for that the first time when I played it 😂
I've played this and I've found more treasures in the open world area than I have in any other uncharted game
Such a classic game series, its embarrassing how some new games still just cant compete whatsoever with these graphics and game art its so gorgeous
I am a hardcore uncharted game but from the footage that I saw it looks like uncharted 4 without drake.
Did he even play this game! And I don't remember there being open world that looks this good in any other uncharted game! It's a story based adventure no need to side missions and I bet there are loads of collectables.
Check out RobinGaming's review for a much more fair review from a fan. This review seems way too harsh (and spoilery).
7.5 or not I'm still getting it.
And.... Why shouldn't you? You do know that 7. 5 out of 10 is a great score?
Lol at all the kids who got offended. When are you going to realize REVIEWS ARE OPINIONS. This man explained exactly why he gave the score he did. you could argue against them but its all subjective. NO ONE IS RIGHT OR WRONG.
Don't mind me, I'm just here to mine some salt.
This game was so much better then 4. The action, the exploring was much much better and also the characters carried it so well. Proof uncharted can live on without drake.
Hey IGN, wanna know why this game is similar to U4, cuz it's DLC to U4.
Kamil M actually it’s not a dlc it’s a stand-alone game that is not connected to uncharted 4
@@kevduz that started out as the uncharted 4 dlc but became so big they made it Into a standalone game
What are you talking about? The open world section did reward us. If you do the optional thing by going around collecting all the tokens you get a bracelet that notifies you when you're near treasure. Did you even play it mate?
just finish this game so amazing would rate it 9.5/10
As an AVID fan of the Drake series, and considering I have not been up on my game releases for a while, it's aw to see another Drake instalment, of course !! That being said, thanks IGN for your always, great reviews ; looking forward to see the new games and the potential content.
wait wtf... Uncharted: The Lost Legacy gets a 7.5 while Hellblade gets a 9? LOL I'm so done wit Ign
Proof .M I know right? Hellblade wasn't even that great of a game. No offense to people who like Hellblade
Yes, I m done too with this IGN, that Loves every bad call of duty ang give 9/10 -,- IGN logic
You haven't played Lost Legacy so how would you know?
gaming 11 at least it was fresh new idea , new Ip
I really want them to make a full blown Sully origin story. I think it could be really cool! Or if they made an official Nathan Drake origin into a full game that would be cool too.
Good job Marty, I give your review a 5 out of 10. Too similar to your other reviews and not enough new material that left me disappointed and sad knowing this was another by the numbers write-up.
Lost Legacy is one of the best games ever graphics, story, climbing, puzzles and everything is amazing about this game, just brilliant game and got PlayStation hit reward deserved it. 10/10 for me one of the best games ever!
Anyone who agrees with this review is a xbox fan and I understand the hurt
I liked how it played in the original reveal trailer, it was slower paced and much more up close and personal. That's what I was excited for. This is just Uncharted 4 again.
Bad review!!!
Ok, I haven't played any of the Uncharted games. It's crazy because I HAVE played Tomb Raider and Rise of the Tomb Raider and I love them both. So since this has a Tomb Raider vibe, I'm still gonna get it and play it.
