- Flying the Cessna 208 Grand Caravan EX turboprop from Rochester, MN to the South St. Paul Airport near Minneapolis. This was a 3 leg trip and the video starts with the pilot flying around thunderstorms and areas of heavy rain during the first two flights of the airplane. This video includes the Air traffic Control communications with the crew and cockpit view for the takeoff and landings.

Videos like this make me want to get back in to flying again. Its so damned expensive now though. Too expensive for fun, and extremely difficult to get in to professionally. I knew a lot of guys who got their CPL, multi and IFR and ended up driving trucks and doing other things. All that training, and thousands of 1990's dollars down the drain.
I'd love to fly private jets but its just too much of a gamble to spend all that money and only be able two sport four bars in a rented flight school 152 every month to stay current.

Good to see you again. I’m a 17500 hr UK ATPL and thoroughly enjoy your videos. Back in 1999 I went through one of those all to regular redundancy moments and got a freelance job ferrying Cessna 208’s,
(767 to 208 was a shock) the 208 would be my ideal one aeroplane hangar if the big lottery win ever came in. The most adaptable aircraft, superbly equipped and huge fun to fly. I might tuck a Gypsy Moth in there too.
Keep the blue bits up and I’ll look forward to whatever you’re doing next. A day on the G650 calls me today, so operating, not really flying, but it still beats working for a living!

Another great video! Thanks for your common sense flights. I miss flights like these with My Dad in his 185 Skywagon coming into Weiss Airport back in the 60's, wish I would have followed my pilot dreams.
I gotta say having those TV screens in a caravan is cheating! I have spent quite a bit of time flying both pressurized and non pressurized turbines. Flying that caravan must be super easy because there are not many complex systems to manage.

Hi Andy. The first Caravan was sold at the end of last year and replaced by a new Grand Caravan EX with the Garmin NXI. Similar paint and same N#.
