Have you grown tomatoes on a balcony? What is your experience?

I have a few seedlings in my apartment right now, it's too cold in my region to put them out for winter so I'll have to keep them inside until it gets warm again.

Glad you have this video still up! The information was great. I live in Texas and it gets very windy here. I was telling my neighbor how I love to garden and she brought me three tomato plants from her mom's garden from another part of the state. I was so excited but now I need to put them in their forever home pot. It's been awhile (living in an apartment) since I've done any gardening and was refreshing my memory. Can't wait to eat the cherry tomatoes while harvesting the big ones for my sandwiches and such! Thank you Nicole!

Aww thanks for this kind comment! Yes it's SO amazing to eat your own homegrown tomatoes. I harvested SO much from my balcony that year. Right now I have a house and more space, but everything started on that tiny little balcony for me :)

Thanks, Nicole! Good tips. If I want to plant two cherry tomatoes in a large pot... what is the minimum distance it should be between them?

Great tips! I'm toying with the idea of buying some cherry tomatoes for my tiny balcony - it's southewest facing so there should be plenty of sun at least!

thanks for sharing. i started my plants from seeds using indoor white LED lights. now, after 3 months, they are ca. 30cm high. no flowers so far. im bringing outside, but i wont have so much sunligt (perhpas 3 hrs per day of direct light). is it too early to get flowers? do u think that they wont survive with such little light? cheers

Thanks for these helpful tips. I am trying to grow tomatoes in a DIY green house as it is not that warm in Denmark. The temperatur in summer is around 8 to 10 C at night. I installed a heater fan inside to get it warm til the sunlight come. What is the optimum temperature 🌡😳?

Still experimenting with the tomatoes I started from the seeds from 2 types of tomatoes I'd eaten. There's so many, need to thin them out and repot them. .
