    I bought this welder because you made it easier to understand. By the way, it was your grandpa that sold me too. One concern is him not using welding gloves. I can feel the heat come through them. The danger is high ultra violet light and radiant heat.

    Great video. This is the machine I’ve been waiting for. It’s a shame they didn’t include a spool gun. It would’ve put this machine far past the competition. You should put a spool gun on it and give it try. I’d love to know how it handles it. Thank you and keep up the great work.

      It does not come with a spool gun but it will run the spool gun the same as the Mig 180 you just have to purchase it separately from primeweld. It is not a specific line item on their website but if you call primewald they will sell you a spool gun to run on it

    I just got my MTS 200 and wondered if the fans are supposed to come on when you turn it on, or do you need to weld first before it starts to cool? Why no .035 contact tip? Mine has no gas knob to turn gas on and off on the tig gun. GREAT VIDEO. I bought this because of your video. Thanks.

    With a settings chart for the MIG180 to dial in your welding, would you say that the synergic feature in the MTS200 is just a costly luxury? Or are the advantages well worth it? Appreciate your feedback, thanks.

      @amcustomfab  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yes, I would agree with that. You don't get much more amperage for the price. The make 180 is simple and proven. And then it also gives you the versatility of coming with a spool gun . I would recommend the 180 and save the extra cash towards a dedicated TIG welder

    Your grandad is great. When I went to buy a new MTS welder it came down to the PrimeWeld and WeldPro brands. I ended up getting the WeldPro, but not because it was that much better. I think both brands are really fine welders for what they are. In fact, when I went to buy an AC/DC Tig machine I almost bought the PrimeWeld, but went with the WeldPro again. Part of the reason I chose the WeldPro is because I watched a video where a guy was trying out his new WeldPro machine in his pasture, had it hooked up to his generator and while he was filming ended up running over his brand new $1200 welder with his dually truck. He dusted it off, plugged it back in and it welded just fine. But, that's not why I chose them; I picked WeldPro because when the guys from WeldPro saw his video they sent him a new one because while the thing welded just fine, even after being smashed, they didn't want anyone to get hurt if the welder had been damaged. So, they sent him a new one, and a postage paid sticker to send the old one back. I'm sure PrimeWeld has great customer service too. But, that whole thing impressed me. In the end, it's like Chevy, Ford and Dodge. All three companies make fine pickups, but if your old man was a Ford guy you are probably going to be a Ford guy too.

      @@jamescaneda9515 Hi James, just a suggestion when purchasing an extension cord, in my opinion, only buy ones that are at least 12 gage and even better 10 gage, most low price cords are 14 or worse yet 16 gage. If all you want to do is feed a 100 w lightbulb 16-18 gage would work fine if you add 10 X the load it will not do very well. Rule of thumb with extension cords buy the largest gage of wire you can afford. Any welder, plasma cutter, tig welder etc.. NEEDS a extension cord of AT LEAST 12 gage and 10 would be better and please remember keep the cord as short as possible. Good luck!

    I don’t understand with all these cheap welders. It seems like the only feature that you can’t do is the only one that matters. You can’t independently control the wirefeed speed and amps?

    • @amcustomfab

      This one there is a bypass so you can control them independently

    I'm about to pull the trigger on buying this unit. Are you aware of any promo codes to plug in at the Primeweld purchase page?
    Thanks for the excellent, thorough reveiw.

      They already priced their welders at the lowest price point they can for the customer the only discounts that they sometimes have a email pop up when you log on to the website that will give you $25 off if you get on their email list 🙂

  • @Dimigrey
    @Dimigrey 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    On a DC welder you have DC neg or DC positive DC positive gives a better penetration on DC negative the weld bead sits on more on the suffice. Less penetration. If you want stick weld thicker material this is not the machine to use

    This machine is not a "scratch start" tig machine. The specs and face display clearly state "lift tig" there is a difference between the two. My suggestion would be to learn the basics & differences between the two prior to doing any TH-cam welder reviews.

      I'm sure he knows the difference. he probably just misspoke. he owns a lot of machines and does a lot of reviews for them and I'm sure he just got mixed up, especially since its new and he is literally doing the unboxing for it. but I'll be keeping an eye on your Channel and waiting for all of the perfect reviews that you'll be doing in the near future

    It is a Lift arc tig, which means you touch down, the machine notices the contact, and then you lift a bit and the arc initiates, Not scratch start.
