    I wonder why you have only 91 subscribers. Your videos are so good. People need to subscribe

      Thanks Babo.... I appreciate it. Not sure. I don't do any social media promoting or any promoting for that matter. I'm not in it for the numbers or money. I just hope I get to learn more from other people as I share what (little) I know. That said, tell your friends to subscribe and join the conversation. Ride safe!

      Its because of the overlong introduction the horrendous loud jazz music! (On!and the creepy cartoon character at the beginning doesn't help either!!)😕

      Hey Mark
      Yeah, production quality could use an improvement. This was some of the earliest vids. Girlfriend drew a character of me for the more recent ones. And, now that you mention it, I just edited up a new, very different intro for 2019. Should be shorter and to the point.

      Hey mark. I appreciate all feedback. Creating vids is a lot harder than I thought. Working on the bike have recording it is waaaay harder. That said I enjoy it so I’ll keep trying to make better quality vids and interesting content. My skin is pretty tough. 👍

    Really enjoy your videos. I did not see in this one that you "burped" the system to insure all air is removed. Doing so can be very messy. Do you feel that the burping is unnecessary?

      Hi John - I have not needed to "burp" the system though I have heard of the issue. Not sure why people experience this. Not sure why it even occurs. We all know its an bubble trapped preventing proper flow. I always add the new coolant very slowly then run the bike to full temp (thermostat open) and radiator cap off to let any bubbles rise to the top and out, then top off the overflow tank as required. I've done 6 of these services on Ninja 1000's: 2012 (4 times) , 2014 (1), 2015 (1) and 2016 (1). Never had an air bubble or need to burp. *shrug*

    Good afternoon, would you be so kind as to inform me of the size of the drain screw washer for the cooling system of the Kawasaki, I have one (z1000sx from 2017) as well as its tightening torque. Thank you very much ✌️

    Do the same steps apply to an 87 Ninja 1000?

    • @Wrenchie
      @Wrenchie  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Jorge - Wow!! Vintage! I'm uncertain of the specifics on the '87 like where the overflow bottle is located, the capacity - how much coolant you need, location of drain bolt, etc. . However, the process is the same for almost every motorcycle, be it a Ninja or anything else. You may want to check / replace all the rubber coolant hoses if you don't know when they were last replaced. They tend to dry out and crack over time.

      Do you have a video for that? This is the first bike I’ve actually owned. Thanks for the input.

    Does your ninja only take a half gallon when doing the flush? I’m about to flush my ninja 1000 and I’m not sure whether to buy a half gallon or a whole gallon worth of coolant. But I’m buying engine ice and it’s pretty expensive so if I can get away with buying 1/2 a gallon I’ll be happy

      Hi Christian! Welcome to the channel and thanks for subscribing. The manual states 3.1 US quarts. I think that takes into account the over flow bottle. If I recall, Engine Ice is propylene glycol, different than ethylene glycol or typical coolant. Make certain you have flushed that system a couple of time with DISTILLED water to get the old stuff completely out. Check out this other vid on coolant change. th-cam.com/video/XZbMGchf_Ic/w-d-xo.html
      You'll want to run the distilled water up to temp to get the thermostat to open so the engine coolant channels get flushed. Also, rinse the overflow bottle out completely with distilled water. I hear is "OK" to mix these two but I play it safe. Flush it out good!. Best of luck. Send a pic of your ride! Tell your friends to tune in and subscribe.
