    Here’s a secret I came across that I haven’t seen being advertised. When you head all the way to the most southern point of the map there is a tower with a chest that teleports you to the divine bridge. There is a lift there that you cannot operate, but if you stand close to the edge, you can summon an invader and they will spawn at the bottom and hopefully pull the handle for you so the lift becomes operable. Has worked both times I tried it and you can proceed through the game without having to obtain two great runes to get into the city.

    My personal belief is the eternal city Astel destroyed is the one that became the Lake of Rot. The Lake clearly was one, with the Dragonkin Soldier that spawns there and the random Ancestral follower that spawns there. There is even cut content that shows that unique rot-infested Ancestral followers were gonna be the main enemies there before the Kindred of Rot replaced them. Add into it that the Lake is actually where you find Astel, and it just makes sense.

    • @alistairsnowshroud8069
      @alistairsnowshroud8069 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually I think there's some problems with that. the placement of the scarlet rot dagger (I forget the actual in game name for it) in that area wouldn't make sense either as it is the tail of the scorpion-like outer god of rot whom we know was defeated and sealed away by the swordsman described in the blue dancer charm. If the city was already lost to Astel not only would we be likely missing the sky in Nokstella itself and not just the ancestral ruins, there would be no reason for them to really fight the god of rot if the city was already lost to Astel, hell Astel and that god would likely just be fighting each other, and astel coming in afterward wouldn't exactly make the most sense because then he'd have been infected by the rot. It's more likely that this ancient city was the site of the swordsman and rot god's struggle rather than anything to do with Astel.
      Astel being a malformed star is howerver an important being to the residents of the eternal cities given that they had great interest in bringing about the age of stars. Given what we know about the stars in the elden ring universe it's not unlikely that Astel was created/summoned in their attempts to procure a weapon like the fingerslayer blade from the stars to be brandished against the current order and bring about their vision.
      So the narrative I propose is this: They were trying to commune with and/or summon the stars in order to make their weapon and the eternal city in deeproot depths was lost as collateral damage due to summoning Astel. Astel flees from the city scared and confused and finds himself a place to nest underground (Technically multiple places as he does also appear in consencrated snowfield so it is also likely that he just carries the sktolen sky wherever he goes). Not to be detterred they kept at it and eventually got their weapon potentially by sacrificing a ruler or important preist or even, as some have suggested, Ranni's former mentor.
      As far as the dragonkin soldier goes, it's likely that he wandered down from the close by eternal city of Nokstella and was infected with the rot.

    A thought about Godwyn's body mutating the way it has. What if it mutated because the roots of the Erdtree are actually still the roots from the Crucible era tree. Since his body was not truly dead, placing it at the roots of the Great tree caused a chimeric transformation, since that is the main trait of the crucible. This requires you subscribe to the idea that the Erdtree is basically grafted onto the previous Great Tree though.

    The general form of the sword currently called Tizona, or St. Trina's sword, is called an arms and posts sword, referring to the beginning of complex hand protection developing on the hilt, or an espada ropera "robe sword" with the intent of being the sword worn with formal robes, literally a dress sword. Note that does not make it non-functional, just fancy AF. It's an early predecessor to what we now call sideswords and rapiers.
    The original Tizona wouldn't have looked like that, but it could very well have been forged using steel from the blade of the original and have that distinctly 15th century hilt applied.

    • @alejandrolievano5573
      @alejandrolievano5573 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also called carrack or crab sword. Apparently the one shown in the video is very controversial, maybe the blade is original (XI century) but the hilt was mounted in 1470 when presented as a gift. Some historians consider it a forgery from the XVI century.

  • @BlueAsterismSolstice
    @BlueAsterismSolstice ปีที่แล้ว +3

    It's very possible that the placement of the Fingerslayer is the suggestion of whom made it and the sort of recreational arts they took to. The Nox themselves work with a very quicksilver sort of material and give it differing forms of life, so they very well could have been tasked to produce it. The likely most candidates would be either the GEQ or Ranni's mentor. The body would need to be someone important to be able to do the job. If we didn't have Ranni's body already, I would say it's her.

    Nice one RGV. Another one for you to look into. This is with regards the aesthetics of the sacred relic sword and fingerslayer blade, the sword-like image that appears in the cutscene just after Maliketh's death looks quite similar to the relic sword and slayer blade. I don't know what lore implications apply here or if it''s a representation of destined death when unbound, but when I saw it in my latest playthrough, the similarities were striking. It's the sword-like image that forms from the black mist.

  • @alejandrolievano5573

    The saint trine sword is really based on a carrack sword (also called a crab sword) from the XV century, like 500 years after the national hero lived.

      @alejandrolievano5573 ปีที่แล้ว

Wielding his (it's the guys name not the swords name) blades supposedly caused a blood lust. It's in alot of games and it's usually red. Sam uses it in metal gear rising and in chronotrigger it's the legendary blade able to harm the mammon machine

While in Castle Sol its always cloudy and snowing and you can't even see the Erdtree. But if you stand atop of a ladder you can see the Erdtree VERY CLEAR. If you take one step away from the ladder the Erdtree fades out again.

    Every god/Demigod seems to have some sort of duality...marica and Radadon its obvious that they are both part of the relic sword hence the two spines in the sword. ever notice how the Omens have two fights, mohg twice, Magit and Margot, might just be the duality of each other and they are cursed omens so they are cursed to be the same?, Melania and her twin brother? Rennalla has that little larva thing, that could be her other half? this doesn't explain Radahn (unless his other half is his horse which is a bad joke) or Rykard (he could be the man and the snake?) and Ranni i don't know...the god slayer sword has two tines to kill both parts of the god that seems pretty clear now.

    So, something I was thinking was about Melina. We know about Miquella and Malenia and they are twins. What if... Melina was a triplet? We know that Miquella and Malenia were cursed because of the weird parentage of Radagon and Marika being the same person and we know twins are very important but what if Melina was actually part of that birth and they are actually triplets? Something that makes me think there is a connection is how Miquella and Malenia are afflicted by outer gods. The only ending where Melina actively tries to stop you and cares about what ending you have in mind is the frenzied flame ending. She hates the frenzied flame. So much so that she will threaten to kill you and straight up nopes out on you. Where do we get the frenzied flame? The "three" fingers. A weird strange occurance as we know that the norm is two fingers. Two fingers and twins. What if the curse and the burns on Melina are from the frenzied flame? She was another abnormality along with her brother and sister being triplets and lets suppose that when a demigod or empyrian are born there is a two fingers born at the same time. What if due to the Marika/Radagon curse and the birthing of triplets was somehow influenced or affected by this three fingers. Melina was burned and became bodiless because of the touch of the frenzied flame. She was born with it and that is why one of her eyes is closed, as we know the frenzied flame has much to do with eyes. However, Marika or Radagon managed to save her soul. I am guessing Marika because she had a habit of saving her children born with undersirable qualities, Morgott and Mohg.
    I am certain Marika is actually a hero and is not actually contending for "worst mother in video gaming". She certainly made some questionable choices but when you consider her position and the power both she and her children shared and the responsibility that came with that power... She did what she had to do. Not for her sake or even for her childrens sake but for the world. She goaded her children to become great or be cast aside. A harsh thing for a mother to say but she couldn't afford to have her super powered children being lazy royals who sit around and are waited on hand and foot. I still am trying to figure out exactly who Radagon is and where he came from. Was he her twin brother and in the Numen matriarchal society was just a champion who accompanied her? Then when Marika turned on the Elden Beast and tried to shatter the Elden Ring it in turn called back Radagon and fused them together? Was he always apart of her and was seperated and then later fused back into her? If so, then who seperated them and why? Did Marika do it so she could be free of some influence and truly attempt to discern what the Elden Ring was? Did the Elden Ring seperate them for some reason? I am firmly in the camp that the Elden Beast is not a good being and not what it claims to be. There are too many parallels between Marika and the Elden Beast to Christian lore to be coincedence and we know Marika discovered something about the Elden Ring that drove her to try to destroy it. It wasn't the removal of the rune of death as she was the one who did that and she knew all about it. There was something deeper and something more sinister that drover her to that point. She planned a lot of this in advance. She knew to remove the grace from Godfrey and his people and that it would spell the end for the Elden Beast. That was the key part in her plan. She had to remove something from the Elden Rings influence and knew that it would call them back at some point. This leads us, the player character, to return and finish what she started. We destroy the Elden Beast and create a new ending. Only one of these can be canon and I am not sure which one that would be. I am also unsure of the lore behind the NG+. I know that most Soulsborne games have that worked into the lore. DS1 it was you starting the age of flame again and in Bloodbourne it was continuing the hunters dream.

      I think you're onto something, but I do have some minor nitpicks two to be exact. Marit and Mohg were most likely born during the very early erdtree era most likely to Godfrey and Marika. This is a time period when Omen weren't considered abominable yet and before the practices of horn removal and sewer jailing.
      The other, is regarding the elden beast, this one is less of a nitpick and more of a clariication. The Elden beast is merely a manifestation of the ring itself. A tool created by the greater will to aid in the construction of order. The thing is, the greater will doesn't care what KIND of order there is only that there is some form of order as evidenced by the fact that it chose Malaneia as an empyrian despite her being "blessed" by the outer god of rot who was far from a welcome force in the golden order given that rot is so closely linked with death which as we know, the golden order desired to exclude from existence. The idea that the greater will would support something so antithetical to the order we are intended to regard as "flawed but good" shatters the illusion that the greater will cares about creating a form of order that's "good". Though to be fair the ring does affect pretty much all of existence and it is impossible to ascribe morality to anything of that scale to the point where you're basically trying to ascertain whether the planet jupiter is "good" or "evil".

      @@alistairsnowshroud8069 Morgott and Mohg were imprisoned in the shunning grounds and the omen bairn and royal omen bairn clarify that omen born to commoners had their horns cut and omen born to royals were hidden. Their shackles were also crafted specifically to keep them controllable. Most likely held by some jailer or something. How patches got ahold of Morgotts is beyond me. The fact that these bairns were fashioned in the form of babies and the royal bairn was formed in secret shows and that Morgott was refered to the "veilled king of leyndell" shows that the omen were shunned even when Morgott and Mohg were born. Morgotts self loathing is a testament to how he was raised and treated. He still loves the Golden Order and his family but hates being cursed as an omen.
      The second part about figuring out the morality of cosmic beings is correct but the parallel of Marika being a "christ" like figure and the Elden Beast, beast being a common name for the antichrist, coming as a falling star, another allusion to the devil, and also its form being one of golden light and trying to appear to be "holy" is, in my opinion, to many parallels to be mere coincedence. Marika steals or takes the rune of death from the elden ring/beast, another parallel with the christ story, thus creating a world where the tarnished could eventually be able to defeat the Elden Beast. I think that the Greater Will and the Elden Ring/Beast are not in alignment. The Elden Beast, in my opinion, is an interloper and an "outer god". There is crossover with shintoism and there is a really good video explaining that its possible that the outer gods of rot, blood, madness, death etc... are just forces of nature and are considered "outer" because they are not part of the current order. Making them less lovecraftian than western audiences have guessed.
      One of the large issues facing my research is the unclear timeline in Elden Ring. There is something that is clear and that is that the Elden Beast came as a falling star to the lands between and so the lands between had to have been created prior to this event. I theorize that the Elden Ring we see in Farum Azula and possible the one that had the Ancient Dragons as their chosen beings was corrupted by the arrival of the Elden Beast and is why the Elden Ring seemed to abandon the Dragons. They were too pure and close to the original Ring and so it needed to seperate from them and so left them for a new order. It is possible this is when Marika was chosen to be the new Emperyian and the Ancient Dragons confused by their being abandoned by the Elden Ring, perhaps even thinking the humans stole the Elden Ring, attacked them but after seeing how Godwyn was such a good person and they had the full power of the Elden Ring on their side the Ancient Dragons saw that the Elden Ring left them of it's own volition and so in an attempt to continue serving their former god, they chose to side with the humans and Marika after.
      This is just a theory and as with most fromsoft games probably will never get a definitive answer. I still think the paralells with christian lore are too many to be coincedence.

      @@XionDarkblood13 I do think that it's possible that Morgot and Mogh were raised on the surface for a time and then stuffed into the sewers later when public opinion of the omen changed but it is obvious that the omen where not regarded as evil in the begining. If they had been, there would be a specialized prison for them instead of it just being the sewers.
      As for your narrative regarding the beast I think you're quite possibly right, but at the same time I feel like there are problems with it that I'm neither well spoken enough nor knowledgeable enough to articulate.

      @@alistairsnowshroud8069 You are doing just fine imo! and yes that is a possibility but I don't think so. Also, just to be clear I was putting forth the idea that Miquella, Malenia and Melina are triplets, born from Marika and Radagon. Not that she was a triplet with Mohg and Morgott. And yes there are holes in the theory currently that I am unable to address and there is a lot more that I am putting together but haven't gotten enough info to fully flesh it out just yet. I will eventually either post on reddit the entire thing or possibly even make a video myself.
      My theory is unfortunately plagued by the fact that I am looking for facts to support the theory rather than looking at the facts to create a theory but I feel this narrative answers some questions that other theories can't. For example, most theories cannot explain why the Golden Order failed and previous orders failed IF the Greater Will is truly as powerful and cosmic as the lore suggests. From what I have gathered from other theories is that the Greater Will is on a higher level than any of the other "gods" we know of. The god(dess) of rot, blood, madness, death etc... This is shown by the fact that these other gods are trying to take the place of the Elden Beast and not the Greater Will and that, as you mentioned, it seems as though the Greater Will is uncaring what version that order takes. I disagree with this and I believe that the other gods are trying to fix the loss of death within the Golden Order and fill that void. Since every ending where you restore a rune it is taking the place of the rune of death. I think the "best" theoretical ending would be if we could save Miquella and allow him to essentially free the lands between from the influence of these outer gods and most likely allow the Greater Will to directly interact with the lands between. Again, another parallel with christian lore.
      A thought that just came to me is that perhaps Miquella and Melina are the twins and Malenia is Miquellas shadow. This has been speculated at, as she is his guardian and seems to have taken the role of shadow despite being seen as Emperyian. We know all Empyrians are given shadows but we don't see Miqullas or Malenias. We know shadows can be given great runes as Marika gave the rune of death to Maliketh. It could be that the lands between knew that a twin boy and girl were born to Marika and Radagon and perhaps Melina died early on or something as we know she was burnt and bodiless and so people assumed Melania was the twin to Miquella and was in fact his shadow. It is implied that shadows are born as children, given Ijis description of Blaidd and Rannis childhood, so if Melina died young and Marika managed to save her soul or whatever Melina is in her current form. So this leaves the question of who is Melinas shadow? Perhaps it is Torrent? She is very attatched to Torrent and he has some measure of intelligence and wisdom as she describes Torrent having faith in us and she didn't at first and she should have listened to him in the begining. Also Ranni seems to know Torrent as well... Which is somewhat odd but they both speak of Torrents former master. A person we have no knowledge of. There is a slight bit of lore and that comes from the Spirit Ashes we get from Ranni and that is the Wolf spirits. An odd coincedence that both confirmed shadows are wolf like beings. This idea somewhat conflicts with Melania being Miqullas shadow as she has no wolf qualities that are even hinted at, which is the greatest hole in the theory but not an impossible one to exist. Melina is such a huge mystery, especially considering how much she is in the game. Probably the most prominent character aside from the player in the game. Yet we know nothing about her or her origins and she is so integral to the story. I think its also weird that the Blade of Calling, Melinas weapon, is found in a hidden office where you also find the officials outfit. Which describes officials as being the ones that have to carry out the hidden dirty deeds of the royalty, or something like that I can't remember off the top of my head.
      All of this leads back to Marika and what I believe absolutely to be true. She is a grandmaster 4D chess player and nothing she did was accidental or had outcomes she did not forsee. Melina was both the key to burning the Erdtree and enacting her plan to get the Tarnished to the Elden Beast and doubled as a safeguard against the Frenzied Flame. I believe Melina is quite capeable of destroying the Lord of Frenzy should the Tarnished choose that route and I believe Marika saw the Frenzied flame as the greatest threat and worst outcome of her plan. It was also the perfect time for it to make its move as Marika was most likely who kept it at bay for so long and managed to trap its envoy so perfectly. The Frenzied Flame clearly can not be fully contained as we see but if the tarnished wish to claim the Frenzied Flame they have a lot of work to do to find it first. Also it is the only, as far as I am aware, time that fromsoft has given the player a way to undo a major choice like that. Again, perhaps Marika planned for that outcome as well. The tarnished thinking that the Frenzied Flame was the best way and perhaps wished to save Melina from being burned but also coming to realize that the Frenzied Flame was the wrong choice and knew about Miquellas Needle and knew it would be able to remove the influence of the Frenzied Flame.

      @@XionDarkblood13 I was picking up what you were laying down with Melina Miquella and Malenia being triplets, I brought up Mogh and Morgot because you used them as examples of Marika keeping children with undesirable qualities and my understanding was that they were raised normally then only sent to the shunning grounds when things turned for the worse, though I do recognize that that may be wrong especially when it is considered that the regal Omen Barin clearly deipicts an infant Morgot and if Omen were not frowned upon at the time of their birth then there would be no reason for it to exist as the practice of making those Barins simply wouldn't have existed at the time of his birth.
      As far as the triplet situation goes I think that may have pretty significant merit to it and certainly makes me think about the shadows of Malenia and Miquella. I can't honestly for the life of me think of who they could be considering the distinct lack of any mention of them... Possible dlc maybe? lol. Jokes aside I think this is a rabbit hole worth going down. Pardon me while I look through every single item description in mogwhyn snowfield and haligtree to find the slightest indication of their existence because now you've got my curiosity piqued.

    Fingers-slaying Blade states explicitly who killed the god and made the blade:
    "This blood-drenched fetish is proof of the high treason committed by the Eternal City and symbolizes its downfall."
    Numens of the Eternal City killed their own previous god and made his/her body into a weapon. It is proof of a deific murder and ended the age of Farum Azula. Weapon was used to harm Fingers and rent Five Fingers apart into Three and Two, because blade is already known as weapon that slayes fingers prior to Ranni.
    This was the "high treason" against the Greater Will that broke the previous order and which marked the future Nox as traitors for all time.
    It is also reason why Elden Beast was sent to mete out retribution and transform rebellious Numen into ant-queens as punishment.
    Finger-slaying Blade is probably Placidusax's god, (Marika equivalent), god of the previous world-order to mirror Sacred Relic Sword.

    Here's one you probably didn't realise, especially if you don't co-op often. When returning to your world after being summoned as a co-operator or hunter, if the host hasn't died (you don't even need to have successfully fulfilled your duty) you will return with some FP and HP replenished. The amount replenished seems to vary but I'm not sure by what metric.
    This is a great way to stay topped up in legacy dungeons between Graces if you can get consistent co-op action (where flask auto-refills after mob kills don't happen like they do in the overworld).
