Wonderful to see Ted again. When I was a teenager he was my neighbor. I'm now almost seventy and love reliving his tremendous musicality. His gentle nature and genuine kindness were apparent from the first time I rang his doorbell (me guitar in hand) to be invited inside to share his vast knowledge and skill. What a memorable individual.
Wow….that is special Donn! Thanks for sharing…Ted has Ben a huge influence on me too…through his magnificent books…only through TH-cam am I getting to know his genius…in the true sense of the word…
Been watching Ted videos for years.. his excitement and enthusiasm is wonderful! I am convinced that he sees and hears guitar differently than everyone else.
Well... now I understand his love for Cheyenne theme... ... I seen this years ago Anna has no clue. But I’ve been watching it now for a year or so. Good old stuff.
Thank you for this. I learned to sing this song in Japanese and accompany myself in a couple of different keys a few months ago; next challenge will be to add melody to chords and throw in some jazz flavor like Ted Greene.
Great video! I'm sure that many of you know that the original name of the song is NOT "Sukiyaki". The actual name is "Ue o Muite Arukō" . The recording by Japanese crooner Kyu Sakamoto was a big hit in America in 1963. Love the parallel 4ths Ted adds to the melody; funny how Nick thought it was something out a movie Western.
On raised fingerboards that extend over the body of a archtop guitar, there is an extra chamber underneath that resonates. Need a visual? Look for a side view of an Ibanez 2355M (lawsuit copy of a Gibson ES-175) on the web to see it.
Big thanks for the upload, Ted has become my main study over the last couple weeks and I just can't get enough :) Can anyone explain what he means by high platform? tia

Wow, that must have been an amazing experience. Ted greene is such an inspiration
What a brain !! Concentration and Focus 11/10
Loved sukiyaki for a long time..it made me shed a tear as a child even though the words were foreign.
Yes it is happy and sad. Poignant. Lament for lost love, a love that had promise but which cam never be.

Has anyone notated any of this ? Can't see it on the Greene website...
Amazing❤️❤️❤️
I recall that song!! ha...
What’s a “ high platform “…? Beautiful playing.
What does he mean by high platform under the fingerboard ?
