The background music being almost as loud as the voices is SO annoying and I cannot concentrate on what is being said! There really is no need for background music.
@@nicolewrytr wish I could afford to. I had health ins but couldn't make the payments and somehow I ended up owing them over 2k. I'll never be able to get caught up and I can't afford anything else.
@@nathanhale7444But I thought “the affordable” care act under Obama fixed our health insurance situation?! You don’t get help from the government? Illegals do! I never went for the sleep study. My boyfriend who has been on cpap for 28 years told me I had all the symptoms of sleep apnea. I went and bought a ResMed CPAP machine (NEW). I slept so good with it. My day fatigue went away, my blurry vision gone! I stopped wearing the machine for two years. Fatigue and blurry vision came back. I just re started the machine 3 nights ago. I feel So much better! It's worth mentioning that sleep apnoea isn't always a full obstruction of the airway. That sure sounded like an obstructive apnoea to me though. Another idea is to get pulse oximetry data from an O2 ring or finger probe as that will show drops in O2 saturation. If you see lots of drops below 90%, you definitely need to get it treated. Even after you begin sleep therapy, O2 data helps to review therapy effectiveness.
This video was useless. How about including recorded Oxygen levels which any smart watch can do? Record your Oxygen levels a night with your smart watch. My O2 levels at night go as low as 76%.
Hey Iam 34 and usually wake up More Than 10 timmes at night and my sleep very shallow/light and my concentration and memory very poor. I wasn’t like that before . I dont know if that’s sleep apnea . Does anyone else has same sleep issue ?
this sounds just like my brother. he is pretty healthy but he had surgery on his nose and ever since then he snores and sometimes it sounds like he isn’t breathing. it’s scary. i wonder if he has sleep apnea too
Get that sleep study asap! You wouldn't want things to get worse. The problem in Canada is that doctors don't proactively screen for apnea, even with children. I don't know how things are in the US, but it should be a standard practice to use the O2 ring intermittently throughout life to check things out. Sleep apnea screening needs to be more proactively pursed in all individuals considering the proliferation of it in society, especially for those who snore. It ultimately leads to cancer, diabetes, pinched nerves, chronic neck pain and probably a plethora of other issues. Sleep is the foundation of our health. Think of the savings in health care if we caught this earlier in individuals.
Monitor your Oxygen Saturation with an Pulse Oximeter. They record while you sleep and you can analyse with your computer the next day. If it measures never less than 90 % there is no need to worry. It's also important how long the value goes under a specific threshold.
Oh goodness I snore and i stop breathing I do have sleep apnea. I've used a cpap machine but its been recalled if I stay on my side I seem to sleep better I can't sleep on back it feels like my chest is crushing in within seconds
How about daytime apnea? I tend to stop breathing several times when just going about my day. I get dizziness, headaches & BP spikes or dips (I check my bp at least 2ce daily & it varies considerably from v high to v low.) I'm usually alone, but when in a quiet room, reading, w others, various people have commented & urged me to 'BREATHE!' (I'm older but slim, fit & healthy.)
You no longer need to go to a sleep clinic to be be accurately diagnosed with sleep apnea. Just get a logging oximeter and wear it for a few nights. Even the cheap $30 models are far more accurate than they need to be to detect sleep apnea. If your oxygen levels don't frequently dip lower than 88% then you're just a snorer. Sleep apnea manifests as frequently and prolonged dips below 85%. People diagnosed with sleep apnea ALWAYS see evidence of it when subsequently using an oximeter at home. And everybody who isn't diagnosed with sleep apnea by a sleep clinic NEVER see evidence for it when subsequently using an oximeter at home (although they may see dips caused by a poor connection with the device or raising the sensor too far above the heart level). Anybody telling you that you need to pay thousands and spend the night in a sleep clinic to diagnose sleep apnea is lying to you. They'll uncover more detail, may identify the cause, provide treatment options and so on, but a home diagnosis with even a cheap oximeter is all you need to conclusive prove or disprove sleep apnea. Today's home sensors are just as accurate (use the exact same laser diodes) as the ones used by hospitals to measure your SpO2.
@Ve Yes, you need a prescription to get a cpap. But accurate and cheap home blood oxygen meters (e.g. logging oximeters) used over several nights can rule out sleep apnea with greater certainty than a single night in a sleep clinic, which often miss less pronounced, conditional or periodic sleep apnea. The large majority of people who go to an overnight sleep clinic don't have sleep apnea, and could have easily verified this themselves without needlessly wasting tons of money, resources and time sleeping overnight at a clinic. Only after you confirmed that you have sleep apnea do you need to get diagnosed and a prescription for a cpap.
Very informative I can see some of the factors I could possibly have that could be maybe Apnea. Thank you so this video I really enjoyed the information.
I have sleep apnea and it can be a serious health problem. Not only making you tired during the day but can cause other health problems.
It’s hard to believe only 90 million Americans snore. I would have thought more
Haha same

Who decided to do this?!?
Wow, thank you, that was interesting. I have to say...I leaned absolutely nothing.
Everyone makes these sounds... I wake myself up, doing this some times.
Is there a kind of sleep apnea where you just forget to breathe? I've been noticing that when I'm relaxed enough to fall asleep I stop breathing.
Yes! Central Sleep Apnea as opposed to Obstructive Sleep Apnea.
Yes! Talk to your doctor. You need a sleep study!

except they don't want savings, the medical industry depends on sick people.
If I am falling asleep in the middle of the day almost every day, after plenty of sleep, is that a sign of sleep apnea?
We live in hell

You just go up there and they give you wrist band thingy to wear while you sleep at home now so its not that big a deal to be tested.
I had an apnea while lying down awake is that even possible?
Let us know whether you have it or not! We're invested in the story now, we deserve to know!
I wish people were more aware of sleep apnea!!!
the silent killer sleep apnea, i had no symptoms but got diagnosed with it still
My 02 saturation when I sleep drops down to like 85 some nights heck on on specific night it's dropped down to 70 for 6sec
The video didn't explain how to tell. It simply said go ask someone if you have it.
Thank you for creating and sharing the very helpful video for snorers and people with sleep apnea.
I definitely think I have sleep apnea. I'm supposed to be getting a sleep test done soon.
