One of my most precious possesions is a video I made of my late wife playing and singing this beautiful song on a second hand piano that we purchased from an old church. Sampson and Regina hold a very special place in my heart. Thank you Regina and Joe Mendelson for preserving this amazing time capsul.

I saw a show at Edinburgh Fringe this year where the performer was talking about all the little things in his life that make up who he is. During the performance he played the first few seconds of Samson, then talked about how he loves it but how the older version of the song holds the notes longer and how that extra second or two just breaks his heart. I thought it was just me.
Also The Light has such beautiful gems of wisdom in its lyrics: "I know the morning is wiser than the evening" and "so many things I know but they don't help me"
I saw her play in Cincinnati last in, in 23. I had never liked the color yellow; it was too bright and I always felt it was a happy color, a color for other people and their lives. When she played the song What Might Have Been, it changed the way i saw yellow, and I'll never go to another concert and have the way i see color fundementally changed forever. Yellows mine, too.
Im in agreement with everyone else, didn't even think about how impactful this song or artist was toll growing up. Nearing 30 still loving Regina so glad shes alot more famous than young me gave her credit for thinking it was so hipster 😂😂😂
PLEASE release an official CD-quality download of the album (the original production, not this remaster) for purchase, the scalping online is horrible. Love how raw a lot of the takes in it are, and the remaster is well-done but it loses a lot of the grounded grit of the original release.
@@SkarGig HAH, ain't that a mood and a fifth. They reduced a lot of the room noise and minor things like lip smacks and piano thudding in the original release. I really don't appreciate how badly those version are being scalped right now.
I remember using this song to compete in a solo vocalist competition. It was stressful, but I’m glad I did it. We had to cut the second verse because of the sexual innuendo which I didn’t even catch because I was just a 12-year-old sheltered kid.
