    It was a bit drawn out but at least you are telling us how to understand and deal with the problem, rather than just blowing smoke up our ants. Good job, at least now I know what I'm dealing with and how best to try to solve the problem!

    You deserve a million subscriptions! I'd NEVER given thought to the gutters! (Ours are FULL OF LEAVES & of course water! And we have we should touch in our house even though I know that is not a good thing! I have not had the energy to take care of the outside much in the past few years and the ants come in every spring. They came in at the beginning of April AGAIN!

    I have a Pharaoh ant problem in my condominium. I have noticed them all over my unit but the majority of them are coming from behind my kitchen cabinets and the microwave range (it is a microwave + hood extractor above the stove). I have been using Terro liquid for 2 months and it attracts most of them (a few avoid it) and activity dies for a short period of time before they appear again in waves. I was going to try the Alpine WSG but several websites say this will not work on Pharaoh ants.
    Any recommendation on what additional treatment I can use in addition to the liquid baits?

    I've had great luck with the Terro outdoor stakes. If I could just keep my lawn guy from running them over. I don't get it, they're so obvious, right against the exterior of my house!... Knucklehead. So far this year, the ants are teeny-weeny newborns outside, none in the house at all! They're struggling to rebuild hee hee...DIE! I like your videos.

    I will give it try for killing the ants!! I think a tree outside has the ants in it…small itty bitty ants. I’m cutting tree down so hopefully it will eliminate most ants. These didn’t get bad till rain and limbs fell off of tree

    I live in a low-rise building about four floors, I'm on the first floor and we have black ants all around the living room or open kitchen. We've put all the food in containers that are waterproof, what do we tell the exterminator when he comes to spray?

    Thanks, appreciate the information. They go away and come back, Then UGH. I've started clean up the outside of this property so thinking I am disturbing them. Much covered over sand. That looks like a good ant habitat. Why I have avoided provisional treatment as they want to spray and not identify the source. What I did learn from your video it takes 3 to 6 months to eliminate as well as treat feet away from the foundation. Little buggers!!! Thanks

    • @GreenAkersPC

      On the soil around the house. If you use them over the yard then I would recommend square foot covering rather than linear footage around the house

    Question: I live in an second floor apartment in southeast Michigan. Near the river, have a big pine tree and another huge tree,, possibly maple in the yard very close to apartment. Several times (about 6 times), what looks like a carpenter ant has crawled on me, and I could swear the last one tonight as I was swatting it away trying to squash it, it actually grabbed on to my finger. No joke here. Is this actually a carpenter ant? It looks like it. Why is this happening? I don't see them ordinarily, only these few times I found it crawling on me. I am usually sitting watching TV in my living room. Do you think this is carpenter ants?

      That’s true

    • @phil7574
      @phil7574 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree though on the baiting. Never been a fan of baits for ants because of the fact that they avoid them alot. A good non repellent with a granular insecticide like Demand G or Bifen LP through the mulch beds and yard usually does the trick.

    • @GreenAkersPC
      @GreenAkersPC  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bifenthrin and demand aren’t really non-repellents even though the labels claim they are. I have personally found that they repel ants

    • @phil7574
      @phil7574 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GreenAkersPC Yeah I know Bifen LP and Demand G are both synthetic pyrethroids and are repellents but in combination with a good non repellent such as Termidor SC they yield excellent results. I use Demand G throughout my customers mulch beds and around the perimeter while I treat the foundation and entry ways with Termidor SC.
