Hi Jay you probably won't see this but I watch every one of your videos and I appreciate your hard work. When I was 9 years old I'm going to be 62 at the end of June my two brothers drove around in the exact same car and it was the color that one was black and white and like you said when your kid it's just a boat but now it is an absolutely beautiful car thanks for everything Jay it means a lot.

I never watched Leno when he was a late show host, but seeing him on youtube- his passion for his cars, thier engineering and history, and how he loves sharing that with people- I have massive respect for the man.

When I was about 12 in 1964 my stepdad bought a
' 55 Buick Roadmaster two tone red/orange and white. We lived on an old abandoned Army Base in Pittsburg, California. All of the buildings were gone but for the foundations. The roads were intact and he'd let us drive around in his Buick. It was powerful and he'd say, Punch It! I loved that car. It glided along the highway while my Mom made " Highballs on the glovebox ". That was crazy 😱! But it wasn't unusual back in those days, LOL. We survived intact.
My parents are gone now...so they can't be arrested. That car was gone before '68 I guess. My stepdad bought a first year Datsun 410, which I took my first driver's license test in. It was a far cry from the Buick...

I owned the little sister version of this car from 1959 to 1966. Mine was a two door hardtop 'Special' with the small motor. Red and white. My most favorite car of all.

"Yeah..its fast!". Genius. Jay does what we all WISH we could do to make a car drivable, today. Sacrilege to some. Heaven to others. The money he has plowed into these cars...the taxes, the registration, the storage, the parts, the upkeep, the machining, the trash bills for the not so environmentally friendly products that are used...OMG thanks for keeping these cars nice, and in the public eye Jay. What he and his employees have done for the car collecting industry is unfathomable. Kudos.

Saw a 55 Buick Sedan parked in a hotel parking lot in Hollywood. I couldn't stop admiring it....yellow and black combination. What a looker.....i walked slooowwwwlllyyy away eyes still glued to this beauty. I think this year was "the" best Buick stylewise by far.

I remember these Buicks when I was just a young punk kid. What gives this car a new look for its old style is its speed right out of the hole. I had to play that over and over again ... I loved that! Those bench seats in the cars in the 50s 60s, reminds me of my steady high school girlfriend and the fun we had going to Drive-In movies.

I used to have a 1954 Buick Special back in the late '80's early '90's. It had that Dynaflow trany Jay spoke of. Manual steering. Ugh! But it was a BEAUTIFUL ride! If on a green light, you started running, you'd probably beat me if I floored it the first 50 feet or so. It felt like the car sort of caught up with the fly-wheel. But when it hit maybe 35, that baby was cruising. And it really was smooth, just as he said. Egg shell white, with a red roof. I'd just sold my '69 Corvette roadster in Southern California before moving to Utah. Saw it for sale in Provo and had to have it. I had 6 big guys in it one warm Indian Summer evening and somebody said, "Hey Allan! Let's all go to Vegas!" We had tons of room in that car. I drove it all the time. Went back to California a couple of times in it. Then out to Texas, where I sold it to a guy who remembered going for rides with his dad in one. Wish I'd kept both those cars. Jay's sleeper sure put a smile on my face!! Thanks Jay!

Hello Jay from Pennsylvania. No you can't beat the American car of the 50''s. I love this Buick being I'm 72 years old I like these vintage cars and the trucks too. The first car I enjoyed driving to school was a 1959 Chevy Impala 4 door, or should I say my first girlfriend Loretta and I both enjoyed going out on dates ... I was 16, she was 15 ... The best memories with these big cars! In memory of these old cars, I mounted a Swan Hood Ornament from Grandpa's 1948 Packard Limo (my birth year) onto the hood of my Pickup. It scared the hell out of a cat once driving down an alley once, it yelled out Weerrellllll. HA! Life is crazy, the first time I took it out the highway, I turned on the radio, and a song came on, "I believe I can fly!" It maybe haunted! And at night the Swan's wings glow gold driving down a country road from my Truck's Amber Cab Lights ... That's Cool! The Swan has been on my truck for 19 years. This 4X4 Truck ls a lot of fun, it still looks and runs like new from the day I bought it.

I learned to drive on a 55 Buick. My dad was a teacher so he couldn't afford the Roadmaster but he had a Century, the next level down. I took my drivers test in that monster including parallel parking it! But dad stopped at the gas station on the way to the test and put 45lbs of air in the front tires! Made it a little easier! Great road cruiser
Now I own a Buick Encore. Much easier to park, but I think even with the rear seats folded, it doesn't have as much room as the 55s trunk!

I simply loved the Belair until I saw Buick's 100 mph car. The Century or Roadmaster has to be my favorite '55 now hands down. Two thumbs up to Jay and all of his excellent improvements. I'd love to see the look on people's faces when they ask and he tells them there's a Leno under the hood.

Really, really nice Jay. I remember going with my uncle and cousin to a Chicago White Sox game in 1955 when I was nine in my uncle's new 1955 Buick. Jay's car and motorcycle collection has to be one of the best in the world. He's got everything from antiques, steam, muscle, modern, super cars, hyper cars, to his Jet car and tank car. Then he's got antique motorcycles to new motorcycles. I've always wondered how much he's spent on his collection to its actual worth.

My family moved from Michigan to California in a '55 Buick with a 20 foot U-Haul trailer packed full of our belongings & weighing much more than that Buick 'tank'! On the last leg of our journey while descending the notorious Altamont Pass, we discovered that the brakes on the trailer weren't working well. The trailer was pushing us downhill and wagging side-to-side while our speed crept toward 90 mph, as my dad was unwilling to apply the car's brakes for fear of having the trailer swing around in the middle of a busy freeway. He watched the trailer in his mirror and punched the brakes hard only when the trailer was centered. We did end up spinning, but at only about 40 mph, and recovered as if nothing happened. That old Buick really impressed me as much as my dad's driving skills!
I was so fascinated with that Dynaflow transmission, I've designed and modified several transmissions to achieve anything similar. That magenta-colored object in my TH-cam icon is a transmission that acts like a Dynaflow using gears instead of fluid. That old Buick is partially responsible for my having been an engineer!

My Grandad, from Slavia, before WWI, came to America in 1898. He went to work for Buick in 1912. That was Before child employment laws. He retired from Buick. My Dad, worked for Buick after he attended GMI, after WWII. I remember growing up looking at the chrome grills. Gramps showed me a 1964 Rivieria he had in the garage. It had 2 four barrel carbs. I have a Lucerne 3.8 series III that my Dad left me. It's got under 50K on it. It will last 500K if I maintain it. And I do.

Gorgeous car! My favorite year. Saw one in an outside parking lot on at a hotel on Hollywood Blvd, Hollywood, CA. Yellow with white combination. It was at night and the lot lights really made it shine. Pristine condition. Lingered admiring that beauty for a long time. Wonder security didn't come out. The styling was magnificent in 1955 - more than the proceeding and successive years in my estimation.

Jay took a 66 Olds Toronado and bumped it up to 1076hp with a GM crate motor, a twin turbo V8...and he’s done a Chrysler Turbine car, an eco jet biodiesel engine capable of over 240mph, theoretically...he blew a window out at 120mph. I had the 55 Buick but it was the Super. I could never part with the Nailhead engine. Had a 29 buick coupe. The difference in engineering in a mere 20 years iui s remarkable.

Why are all of this videos just getting published now? It's obvious they were done 10+ years ago.

I found it to be 2004. mpeg2 digital reached a peak in 2007. that is when I started recording my tin can. It gets to be fun, not even all that old.. it is the technology changing. Jay does look much younger.
