Those new Bark River sheaths are indeed a tight fit. It works out great with time. The knife itself is very light and versatile.
I should get mine tomorrow, went ahead and picked up the firedog canvas micarta….. real excited about this one

Very nice knife! Good score LTK. I absolutely LOVE Bark River Knives. I own 10 of them at the moment.Some of their knives are as much works of art as they are tools. I have full customs that aren't as nice or as well made as them. The leather straps are made tight like that on purpose because the leather will stretch over time, and lose the retention strength.. I always wet the strap then close it, and once it dries, it has the perfect retention.
If you decide to kydex it, you should check out Black Bear Custom Kydex. He makes outstanding kydex sheaths.

No. It is a Crucible steel. BR does not make steel.

It looked bigger on pictures.. It llooks cool as an edc or a small hunting knife. It would be good,on field dresing small game.

At that price I would expect top steel. Hard to knock BR , but 154CM? The 80's called, they want their steel back.

@User 2389 It's cpm-154, NOT 154cm. There's quite a difference between the two.
@@MotivatedMetalworks I agree. Both of those 2 steels would be better. I love cruwear. 3v as well,, but cpm154 is a very good steel as far as stainless steels go. It's big upgrade from the older 154cm.
Stainless v. hard carbon. Ease of sharpening in the field v. impossible to sharpen in the field. Depends what you are using it for.
@@timbo4374 Considering it is knock off of a knife designed by, and made famous by R.W. Loveless who was responsible for the use of 154cmto the knife world, it is fitting and pays homage to the Master and most celebrated Knife Maker in history.
the Cute knife is not a hunter. It was designed for Air Crew Members for exactly that. To cut free of the Chute and as a Survival Knife. He was also responsible for bringing Micarta to Knife Making. Even when high polished canvas or linen micarta gets grippy when wet. Has a soul that G-10= (Fiber Glass) simply does not have.
A Loveless Chute Knife today is many thousands of dollars.
