Dear, dear Sidonia, I want you to know what a wonderfully calming and delightful experience it is to bead "with" you. When I sit down with my beads and your tutorial, I can hear little street noises and I feel as though I was sitting with you and enjoying an afternoon of friendship and beads. Thank you for your kind and expert teaching!
Aww, Mimi, thank you so much for your beautiful words! They made so happy! It is so good to now that there are people like you out there. It gives my work a new meaning as I love making people around me feel happy.
Sidonia: You are a wonderful teacher and beading artist. I learn a lot from you and I am very happy and grateful. I miss your videos and I wish you share more tutorials! Thank you for sharing your knowledge on this wonderful art.
Thank you very much for answering so quickly! I absolutely adore your jewelry tutorials. They are classy and vintage looking. That is just the kind of jewelry I and my youngest daughter like. I have already made several of the projects using different beads. They all turned out beautifully. You are an excellent teacher plus I love your sense of humor.
Your designs are absolutely beautiful. I was afraid to try them because they are so intricate, but I just completed these earrings and they came out beautiful. I now have the courage to try another! Thank you for sharing your beautiful talent!
That's great, Rose Mary, I'm glad you like how they came out. And do go on and try another one, also because being a lazy person I try my best to create designs that don't take too much time or too much beads to be done, so they will always be less difficult to make than they seem. :-)
I just love your color combinations. You make it look so simple with your step by step tutorial. Keep up the excellent work and thank you so very much for sharing.
This is fantastic! You are a beading machine and I love all your amazing tutorials :) Thank you so much for submitting this at JewelryTutorialHQ - I will be happy to post it! I'll let you know when it is live on the site. ~ Jessica
Thank you for sharing your tutorials. It took me a couple tries to get this pattern to work for me but I love the final result. Looking forward to many more of your lovly patterns.
Another excellent tutorial from you! Your voice is so calming and your camera angle perfect! I'm definitely going to try this and follow along with you simultaneously. I really like your tutorials!
Thank you so much for posting this tutorial, Sidonia. I love these so much and plan to make them for my friends for Christmas. I can't believe how easy you made these look, and I can't wait to try them...I liked this video and I subscribed!!!
I'm really happy you liked it! I would really like to know if your friends liked their Christmas gift. :) Thank you, Michelle, for your kind words and for liking the video and subscribing, of course! :)) Sidonia
I will let you know, Sidonia, and if they turn out half as pretty as yours, I know they will love them!! Thanks again for your generosity in making these tuts. They are so greatly appreciated.
beautiful... with your wonderful tutorial, I am going to do these earrings, only will have to adjust to the rivoli I have... but think I can do it. You give me confidence, as I watch your tuts, and love your kind voice and patience!!! Please, please, can u do more rivoli beaded earrings, bracelets, and pendants???? Thanks soooooooo much!!!
I really like this pattern but when I first tried it- it was way too big. I tried a few different things and what finally worked for me was using size 15 toho beads. I also reinforced when beading around the 3 mm bicones. And I also used a smaller number of seed beads on the back- 9 instead of 11. I’m so glad I stuck with it! Thanks Sidonia for your wonderful creativity!!
Hello Claudia, sorry for answering so late, I had stopped posting, but now I'm back. You've probabli figured it out by now, but I'm going to tell you anyway. :) If you used Toho seed beads for this project, that is the reason it didn't work. Tohos are a bit bigger/fattier than the Miyukis, even though nominally of the same size. :)
Now I've finally made these ones, too. I use only miyuki, but still had the same problem, as some others: after adding the 15/0s at the back, closing the ring, the bezel was too loose. So I just left them out, and went 2 times through the 15s that were already there. And I added 11/0s between the bicones at the end. Changed the look more than I thought, but I like it too :)
Great tutorial very clear. If I do not have size 15 seed beads can I use size 11 and 10 seed beads instead? I do not get size 15 seed beads where I am from.
Hi There, I would like to tell You that Your Tutorials are Fantastic, I am still new to doing this type of Jewellery and can't wait to do this Pendant, but You haven't put down the size of the bigger beads, have all the other items but these. could You please let Me know so that I can purchase them. Thanking You so much. Lesley.
Hello. In the materials list, you have only Matte Mt. Bronze 15/0 seed beads. They look like a cream color in the video. Is it me or are they cream or beige 15/0? Thank you so much for the wonderful videos and beautiful designs. I can't wait to receive the materials I have purchased so I can begin the make them.
Hi Sidonia, Your designs are absolutely beautiful! Thank you for sharing. I tried the first part with nylon thread and t got tangled completely and now I'm planning to try with fireline...I wanted to ask you for the 14mm rivoli that you have shown here you started with 12 bicone sets. For a 12mm rivoli should I then take 10 sets?. Can you also tell me where I can find beads for cheap. I'm in the US. Thank you.
Thank you Sangeetha, you could try it with 10 bicones, it could work. Or, if you don't already watched it, you could use this other pattern for a 12mm rivoli: th-cam.com/video/27V4gAeHjw8/w-d-xo.html Also, when working with crystals, Fireline is recommended because more resistant at the sharp edges of the crystals.
Thanks for your tutorial....I've tried making these earrings, however, have a few questions. Should the beads in front be pulled tight? I didn't do that and my rivoli stone (14mm) slides around inside and is very loose? Secondly, could you do another video beading the back completely? The back is so intricate and I keep having difficulty. Would really appreciate it. Thanks so much and thanks for your great tutorials.
Hello and thank you! No, the beads should not be pulled tight, not more than you'd normaly do. If the bezel feels loos it's because of the seed beads: you probably used a type that is a little more "fatter" (like Toho seeds), so the bezel came out bigger. The principle for the back side is the same as for the front side, you just work with a different number of beads. If I find time I will make a video on how to do the back side. You can also find a witten tutorial, for sale, here: www.etsy.com/listing/222256432/beaded-earrings-tutorial-rivoli-earrings?ref=shop_home_active_8
I don't have many rivoli earring patterns I just love these. Would it be possible to make another tutorial similar to this one. I really really love these. If you do some like these for etsy will you let me know. message me
I LOVE this, it's so pretty. But a question to you..did you use a 14mm or a 16mm because when I use the 14mm it comes out very loose. When I used the 16 mm the bezel was nice and snug. Thanks
Hi! I made a video to show you how to bezel the 14mm rivoli using 11/0s. I hope you'll like it. The video is called Rivoli earrings. Have a good day! Sidonia :)
Sidonia, these earrings are beautiful , however I'm having trouble making them I am using the 14 mm rivoli and 15'0 miyuki delicas and the 11'0 delicas, but when I get the back done and add the rivoli in, it doesn't fit, it's way to big for the rivoli .... what am I doing wrong please help ... very frustrating ....... sincerely Patty W
Hi Patty, I'm pretty sure that the reason is that you are using delicas, which are way bigger than the seed beads (rocailles), even if they are of the same size. I'm using Miyuki seed beads, I prefer them to other brands, because they are very regular and smaller, even if they are of the same size. Please let me know if everything worked out well changing the seed beads. Sidonia :)
Sidonia's handmade jewelry Thankyou I thought I was doing something wrong .... I will try the rocailles ... I love the Miyuki seed beads also, very consistent ... I think I will try to see if I can reduce the amount of the delicas that I have on hand while waiting for the other ones to arrive... I will order them today, may I ask where you purchase yours, in case I can't find them ? thankyou again Patty
Sidonia's handmade jewelry Thankyou I will try these , could you possibly tell me how many 15/0 rocailles in an inch compared to 15/0 delicas if you know ? thanks again Patty :)
Thank you! On this pattern like it is, I don't think it would work, you can try by reducing the number of the seedbeads and beads. I will try and make it with 11/0s and I'll let you know. Sidonia :)
Sidonia I am having a problem doing the back!!! Is there an easy way to remember how to do it???? You showed a small portion on the video but I am still having problems even though I watch over and over!!! Help!!!!
Ok :-) You are going to build units made by 11 seed beads and a bicone. Your units are made by four sides: two lateral sides formed by 5 15/0s each, the top side formed by 1 15/0 and the bottom side formed by 1 bicone. Each unit shares lateral sides with adjacent units. You will start by picking up 11 15/0s and enter the bicone you are coming out of to build your first unit. To build the next unit you will only add 6 15/0s because you'll use 5 15/0s of the previous unit to build the second one. First unit: So, you are coming out of a bicone, pick up 11 15/0s, go back through the same bicone you are coming out of and again through the first 5 of the 11 15/0s you just added. Second unit: Then pick up 6 15/0s and go through the the next bicone from the opposite side, through the same 5 15/0 of the previous step and the 6 15/0s you just added. Continue through the next bicone. Third unit: Now pick up 6 15/0s and go through the first 5 of the 6 15/0s you added in the previous step, again through the bicone and through the first 5 15/0s of the 6 you just added. Repeat instructions for second and third unit, alternating them, to complete the bezel. To build the last unit, you will only have to add 1 15/0, the top side of the unit, as you already have the two lateral sides (5 15/0s each) and the bottom side (the bicone). I hope this will help you understand. Sidonia :-)
Hi Annie, I don't have a blog right now and no Instagram either, but I do have a Facebook page here facebook.com/byallbeads?ref=hl and a FB profile here: facebook.com/spetki
I have the idea but am still having trouble Is it possible for you to write out the instruction just a small little tidbit of information for me I have the idea to have five beads on each side but I'm having problems when and where you go to the bye: thank you
I can't get mine to look like yours. I must be doing something wrong. I get to 8:13 and mine doesn't look uniformed like yours. It looks loose and doesn't look at all like yours. I'm very sad.
Your work is very beautiful, but I cannot hear you or understand how many you are saying to pick up each time. I'm trying to count them, but haven't got a good count yet, help... I would love to make this, don't know if I'll be able to as it stands.
they are very lovely earrings but unfortunately explanations for the back side are quite bad. I tried twice without success...I still can't understand what to do at the back.
Thank you for the chance to see your creations. All wonderful. Thank you again.

ok. Ty for being a FB and u-tube friend
I LOVE this, it's so pretty. But a question to you..did you use a 14mm or a 16mm because when I use the 14mm it comes out very loose. When I used the 16 mm the bezel was nice and snug. Thanks
Thank you, Doria! :D
So so beautiful love it

Hermoso gracias por la oportunidad de hacerlos
😁
Dear Sidonia, I tried with the Miyuki, it's better yet loose. What do you think i should do now?
What thread are you using? Could you send me a photo of it?
Sidonia's handmade jewelry 0.12mm fireline
Could you send me a photo, Roula? It is the only way I could try and understand what you are doing wrong.
Hi Patty,
I'm pretty sure that the reason is that you are using delicas, which are way bigger than the seed beads (rocailles), even if they are of the same size. I'm using Miyuki seed beads, I prefer them to other brands, because they are very regular and smaller, even if they are of the same size. Please let me know if everything worked out well changing the seed beads.

I think I will try to see if I can reduce the amount of the delicas that I have on hand while waiting for the other ones to arrive... I will order them today, may I ask where you purchase yours, in case I can't find them ? thankyou again Patty
I buy them on bricolart.com and you can find them also on perlesandco.co.uk
Sidonia :)
Sidonia's handmade jewelry Thankyou I will try these , could you possibly tell me how many 15/0 rocailles in an inch compared to 15/0 delicas if you know ? thanks again Patty :)
patty walker
Well, I think 25 rocailles and 19/20 delicas per inch, but this is just my opinion :D
Thank you!
On this pattern like it is, I don't think it would work, you can try by reducing the number of the seedbeads and beads. I will try and make it with 11/0s and I'll let you know. Sidonia :)
What did you use for the navy earrings that you show, but don't do?
Sidonia I am having a problem doing the back!!! Is there an easy way to remember how to do it???? You showed a small portion on the video but I am still having problems even though I watch over and over!!! Help!!!!
Ok :-)
You are going to build units made by 11 seed beads and a bicone.
First unit:
So, you are coming out of a bicone, pick up 11 15/0s, go back through the same bicone you are coming out of and again through the first 5 of the 11 15/0s you just added.
Second unit:
Then pick up 6 15/0s and go through the the next bicone from the opposite side, through the same 5 15/0 of the previous step and the 6 15/0s you just added. Continue through the next bicone.
Third unit:
Now pick up 6 15/0s and go through the first 5 of the 6 15/0s you added in the previous step, again through the bicone and through the first 5 15/0s of the 6 you just added.
Repeat instructions for second and third unit, alternating them, to complete the bezel.
To build the last unit, you will only have to add 1 15/0, the top side of the unit, as you already have the two lateral sides (5 15/0s each) and the bottom side (the bicone).
I hope this will help you understand.
Sidonia :-)
OMG Thank you so much......you are so helpful and a beautiful jewelry artist!!!!! Thanks again!!!!
Cheryl Hill
