Emma, just a suggestion: If you plan on continuing doing these 'scam-ish' purchases for us viewers, DON'T use your personal credit card. Get a re-loadable prepaid card or something along those lines. Just so if your bank is concerned, you don't have to worry about them flagging your card, leaving you without money. I've worked at a banking call center for a few years, and that's the advice I normally give people who are concerned about if something is legitimate and that kind of stuff.

I work in the customs department for a shipping company, and internet orders from china are the bane of my existence. "no, we can't just take your word for it when you say that this 4g smart phone with 16gb of memory cost five bleedin' dollars, we're really going to need to see your proof of payment and order confirmation". this shit is why people often wait weeks for their shipments rather than a few days.
and if the goods do fall through the net: good job, chinese shippers, for saving your customers something like a tenner in VAT. only now they're technically guilty of tax evasion unless they actively report back to the customs office and insist on getting it re-cleared with a corrected invoice.
