I saw a dog online, went right after work to adopt. A lady got there 5 mins before me and because I wanted the dog, she took him. I knew that dog was meant to be with me, so I called the shelter every day to see if the lady returned him. I knew she couldn’t handle him, and sure enough, 4 weeks later they called me and said she returned the dog 4 weeks later! I left work immediately, and picked him up. Named him Jake and 16 years later he is still with me ❤❤❤❤
Wonderful. Your story has cheered me up no end. Please give Jake a hug from me and tell him how lucky you were to find each other. Love you both and hope you will share many more years together.

I worked in an animal hospital. We had a boxer come in, with two broken paws. It had been kicked down stairs. It was an accident, they said. They tripped over him, when he was near the stairs.
I've never heard about that happening outside abuse cases. They're both just vile.
A dog would have to be thrown from a great height in order to sustain such an injury. The Handbag and Mugs are disgusting and vile.

Well, it takes force from things such as a fall, why and how a dog would sustain such an unusual injury is thought provoking and beyond concerning. As an avid animal lover and groom shop owner, I have no words for how disgusted I am. I had always suspected it was something like this. So glad you brought this back up. There is a clinic in California that went to such extremes of cover up to the point clinics were being bought in Canada, and workers/ previous owners felt intimidated. They also grifted and exploited research. Highest forms of abuse is what these entitled, deluded, entities are used to.

I really appreciate your honesty!! I adopt "senior" animals that no one wants and that is challenging for sure (history, trauma, trust). It is A-OK to say I'm not a dog person, or I'm not a cat person. Adopting a pet is a big commitment that is not suitable for everyone.

I volunteer for a resuce that feeds cats and kittens to our local Petsmart. Staff clearly tell people they cannot "hold" a cat for them, and that if they come back there is a chance someone could come in and adopt that animal.

A friend of mine decided to get a dog for her boyfriend for his birthday. We went to the shelter and I found a super sweet dog who was on the "list," her name was Roxy. Well, she gives him the dog but turns out he's not allowed animals in his apt. so she called me telling me she was bringing her back to the shelter, fully knowing I wasn't going to let that happen. I was beyond pissed but I drove over to her house to get the dog. I was going to school and living at home and my parents said "no way, absolutely not" to having a dog, much as I begged and cried because I was totally in love with this dog. I had her groomed and checked out, my parents even admitted she was a great dog, but I still had to give her up. It completely broke my heart. So I found a no kill shelter...but Roxy was not fixed *and* she was in heat; they wouldn't take her. So I found a vet who would spay her, paid him and when she'd recovered, I took her to the shelter. One of the hardest things I've ever done. My sister came with me, thank God, because I cried so hard I couldn't drive home. Less than a week later the shelter called to tell me she'd been adopted by a single, rich, lady writer who was so delighted with Roxy, she made (another big) donation and baked them a cake! I was so happy!! It was really kind of the shelter folks to let me know. I still get a pang when I think of Roxy.😢❤

No she just did NOT want to take care of a dog full time. She WILL NEVER admit she isnt right. We rescued Loki a BLUE HEELER/PITBULL MIX that ran the neighborhood having rocks and sticks thrown at him by a different group of neighbor kids. Loki NEVER barked at the Adults here But barked at my kids, once Loki realiyed he was safe here then he was fine and now he LOVES being in public.
My Guess is she got the dog that was SHY and didnt want that hence the letter of trying to get the pound to FORCE the other owner to give up HIS DOG - THANK GOD HE DIDNT BECAUSE THE FIRE-CRACKER/WILD CARD DOG WOULD HAVE BEEN PASSED ALONG SOONER. Meg "wouldnt" have had time to train the dog OR keep it out the trash. And sometimes i think she says thinks SOLELY FOR THE PITY PARTY OF 1 TO GET THROWN IN HER HONOR!! NOT TO MENTION AS A WAY TO BULLY SOMEONE ELSE.

Some people are heartless - HE had his tail TRAPPED in a van door for a few HOURS. I KNOW he had to be barking and it is LOUD; YET He was LEFT there hurting and had never been taken to the vet. We got him at about 11 months old when we picked him up running the neighborhood. Everyday I realize MORE people SUCK

Shelter dogs are some of the most sweetest, loving, grateful, affectionate, snuggly dogs on the planet. I have adopted shelter dogs and would NEVER, EVER buy a dog from a breeder or pet store!! But you’re right, not all people are dog people and hopefully, they would NEVER get a dog in any way possible!

Oh my gosh, I have 4 dogs and have not been able to leave them because the two old ACDs that have gotten somewhat aggressive around other dogs and people. My dogs got me through my daughter and sister’s deaths, my dogs and AG parrot are everything in my life!

I want to know how that dog broke both of his legs. It’s never been revealed, and I think it’s important to show that there was abuse without animal. Either was with Megan Harry or both of them.
