Yeah this is what I call feel good music. It is a shame that nobody is doing this kind of music anymore. But one good thing at least we can listen to it and appreciate it and hasn't been lost in time. I'm extremely grateful for that.
Wow I love this song !! And as sad and heartbreaking as I felt on a few occasions with lady friends that I knew I was saying goodbye to forever :( it's songs like this that make it all worth it. I remember Carlsbad California 2000. I was moving back to Boston after 3 years and during that time we became very close and had a lot of great times together. But I was moving and on the side of the road we said goodbye for the last time. And during the time we were together my friend Sarah and I never said the L word to each other even though deep down I did. I loved her but I knew I couldn't have her as my own. But on that day when we said goodbye she told me she loved me :) This song always takes me right back to that day !
Thank you posting sweet lady. This song has an interesting story behind it. 4 versions of this song were recorded. Jeffrey Comanor, who wrote the song. It didn't even chart. Deardorf and Joseph also did a version, and their's didn't chart either. You think that after two failures of this song that nobody would have gone anywhere near it again, but.... Maureen McGovern and England Dan's managers gave it to them to record at the same time. Maureen's version also failed to make the top 100 chart. But, England Dan and John Ford Coley made it a little more Rockish, and they had a hit with it. Never the less, it's a great song by all the the artists.

Right after My girlfriend Debbie Became Part of our Family. My Mother Received a Court Order from my Father for my Sisters and Myself to travel to New Jersey and spend time with him as agreed in their Divorce Decree. My mother had us kids and Debbie Together and told us that we had to go to New Jersey or she would be held in Contempt of Court!! All of us were very upset and I was Traumatized because Debbie heard It Also!! Debbie FREAKED OUT!! and my Mother and I had a rough time explaining to Debbie that my Sisters and I had NO CHOICE but to comply with the Court Order!! The next week we went to New Jersey and was there for a week then my mother called us and wanted us home!! Debbie was so Traumatized she was admitted to the hospital for a Nervous Breakdown!! She called us again and my Sister Eva answered the phone. Then I heard what happened to My Girlfriend while my Sister Eva was talking to my Mother!! I Started to cry then walked out to the front of my Father's house and the Trauma had me on my knees crying my eyes out!!! My Sisters came outside crying and when my father came back from the store he found all of us crying and very upset!! He asked what happened and Eva Told him to call my mother!! He called my mother and told her he wanted us to stay for another week!!! My mother wanted NO PART!! of it and Told Him to send us back to Maine IMMEDIATELY!!!! We Booked a Flight back to Maine and paid for the Plane tickets ourselves because we didn't want any more problems between my Parents!! We then Called my mother from Newark Airport In New Jersey and told her we were on our way home!! When I spoke to my Mother I told her to tell my Girlfriend "Please make Sure My Girlfriend was with her when we land in Maine!!! My mother got her Discharged From the Hospital and the whole time while they waited for us. Debbie was Going Crazy because She just wanted us to Come home Quickly so she could be reunited with my Sisters And Myself. She was just holding my Mother tightly and Crying her eyes OUT!! My Mother was crying Because she could not Calm my Girlfriend DOWN!! I Was Extremely TRAUMATIZED because it was too much ESPECIALLY For ME!!! I NEVER Wanted To Let our Relationship Get So DAMAGED In Such A Manner as This!! I VOWED to Myself and my Sisters I Would Never Be Part of something like this AGAIN EVER!!! I Even CRY when I Think About This!!!
