- Join me as I discuss the inspiration behind, as well as my design process, for my Master Hand Knitter sweater!
This was knit in 2013/2014, and I earned my MHK pin in 2014.
Fair Isle design (with some stranded colorwork/non-traditional elements.)
10 colors used.
Started the knitting in November of 2013, and finished the sweater on 3/14/2014.
It won first place in the garment competition of SAFF in the fall of 2014.
Pattern was released today!! Available on Ravelry (www.ravelry.co...) and PayHip (payhip.com/b/n....

Thank you so much Heather for giving us a close up look at your Lvl3 sweater. It's absolutely beautifully designed and stitched.
Thank you so much!
Absolutely stunning work! I totally appreciate the talent and skill it took to create your masterpiece!
Thank you very much!
Amazing pattern and very interesting video. Thank you, Heather.
Thanks for watching Sergio!!
What a masterpiece! Thank you for sharing the details.
Thank you!!
beautiful work Heather!
Thank you so much!
Beautiful work. Thank you for sharing. I’m particularly interested in how you decided upon your colour choices. I also like the ribbing colours which brings it all together
Thank you so much!
Hi Heather, I just found this video as I was looking for steek information- what an amazing project. I am starting on my first steeked project, a much simpler vest. I have never tried a cardigan- too intimidated by the buttonholes- but yours look beautiful.
Thank you so much! :-) And good luck with your first steek! Just take a deep breath and know it'll be alright!
Hi Heather, thank you so much for sharing about the design process for your sweater. This was very interesting. I'd love to hear about other garments perhaps that were a real challenge or perhaps a favorite Garment of yours that you really enjoy to this day that you've had for a while. I hope you're having a great day and the weather is nice and cool where you AR. We are hitting triple digits this weekend. Please take care and be safe. Thank you. Stephanie from California
Ooh, I'll have to think about that and see if I have a garment that would be interesting to talk about! We're staying indoors and cool -- the heat wave is set to hit us early this next week here. Stay cool where you are!!
@@HeatherStorta Another idea: A garment you reverse engineered would be cool to hear about.. I liked how how your design was not a 100% figured out before you started knitting the garment. You let the design and fabric speak to you. Drink plenty of water! Take care, Stephanie
Heather, I’ve always thought your sweater was stunning and I appreciate this video showing how you decided on the pattern then knit it. Your finishing techniques are inspirational. I’ll be watching your Ravelry page for the pattern. Do you have a name for it picked out?
Thank you!! Yes -- it's out now - called "Bidding Spring Arise"!
