Johnny Guitar - The Spotnicks - Cover by Dave Monk

- "Johnny Guitar" is a famous song written by Peggy Lee (lyrics) and Victor Young (music) and was the title track of the 1954 film Johnny Guitar directed by Nicholas Ray and starring Joan Crawford.
The instrumental for the song is used over the opening credits and throughout the film. The song is played on the piano by Joan Crawford (dubbed) and sung partially at the end by Peggy Lee.
The song became an instant classic and has been covered many times as a song and as an instrumental. Instrumental covers were made by The Leemen, The Spotnicks, Group Seven in the 1960s.
The fabulous backing track (Rumba Style) is by Rudy G Dela Vega (Roodie707) available on TH-cam. Thanks Rudy.
Rudy has also produced a cover verion which is just superb and a slow motion tutorial.

every guitarplayer must play this famous Spotnicks tune. In fact it is my most viewed tune. I would prefer your backing for a new recording for me.
I like the changes you made compared to the Spotnicks original. And the choice of guitar is perfect as well.

Brilliant tune and playing....!!...These Hofner Verithins were mid 1960s....I got the 3pickup one same colour for Christmas 1966 in Singapore..the double pole pickups give a better sound on rhythm chords than any of my Fender strats..!!!...Will never part with my Verithin...!!!!!
