This can also be read as: Faro didn’t want future humans to know he’s the one that fucked everything up and to hate him for eternity, so he said future humans will know nothing 😂

However, he knew that was a mega-pathetic thing to do, so he first convinced himself that the true villain was knowledge itself, so he convinced himself that that was the real reason he was going what he did. It's the kind of argument that only works if you don't want to face the truth, but people (rich & poor, smart & dumb) do that all the time. Killing all life on the planet, including himself, is the kind of truth pretty near everyone will do anything to dodge.
