My 890 was doing the same funky shit, headlight not turning off plus the MCT warning.
All it was was the moisture in the usb charge port and the cigarette light plug.
I had got a bit carried away with the pressure washer, I only had the problem when I was trying to charge my phone or tablet. As soon as I disconnected the charge cords, the problem went away with a key off on.
