    While writing, That ball inside blocks the cartridge and doesnt let excess ink flow into the feed (black thing under the nib)...it lets out just enough ink without overflowing the feed...
    Just like a expensive whisky bottle with a plastic cork which has a small ball inside to limit the flow while pouring.
    Cheers.

      Oh... Thought it was to mix the ink when you're shaking the pen (like spray paint cans have). Thanks for letting me know!

    • @lmaoroflcopter
      @lmaoroflcopter 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sejinlee5240 it is. The feed works via capillary action. The ball is there to agitate the ink.

      @@lmaoroflcopter I see, well, there's more to it than meets the eye. Doesn't it?

    pilot has similar metal beads inside their converters, they are agitators and used to prevent the ink from drying up inside the pen, and to help with the flow of ink inside the pen. The filling system requires you to press down and pull up multiple times usually three times to fully fill.

    • @DailyBanter96
      @DailyBanter96 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Look up the Pilot Custom 823 a soon to be pen that I'll own, it has a vacuum filling system that is an improved design to that one you used, Pilot has the con 70 converter that is a button push filling system where you quickly press the button down and the converter fills.

    • @WhiteGloveReviews
      @WhiteGloveReviews  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is a cool looking pen. It looks like the vacuum is built in and unscrews. Do you know if the center chamber is sealed or can you totally take it apart for cleaning? I would assume you should be able to.

    • @DailyBanter96
      @DailyBanter96 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pilot is something you never want to take apart, the custom 823 can be taken apart with the TWSBI wrench you got for example, but it voids the warranty, the only reason youd want to, is to re grease the pen maybe but as its a vacuum filler, you have no reason to truthfully.

    • @WhiteGloveReviews

      I thought it looked like the kind of thing you wouldn't want to take apart. :)

    Happy 2020...I just bought this pen and had the same issues you did at first however, they persist. When I start to write the initial stroke does not let ink flow but the following strokes work fine. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or not, but it's annoying.

    That îs an agitator Ball, you supposed to fill up 2, 3 Times to get more ink in

    • @felixaviseyii8878
      @felixaviseyii8878 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry I'm late but yeah I experienced those times you need it but here is a tip you need to dip the grip not whole half make sure ink does not overflow and suck it it will suck more than it used to be

    That ball prevent the ink from drying and potential leaks whlie you're writing. Also pour the ink in a shallow container, detach the cartridge and then fill it. Never push ink when the cartridge is attached to the pen.

    Others have answered the converter questions. What size is the nib, a Fine or a Medium? More writing sample would have been helpful.

    *I have one of these pens and I love it. It still works splendidly to this day. I got mine way back when it was first released. The metal ball in the converter used to be a little metal disk and what I know, it is used to agitate the ink for it not to dry out.*

    Just while placing it upside down n writing the ink just comes out in a full speed n spoil the paper, what should I do??

      Is the nib of your pen bent any? Maybe causing the extra ink flow? Or are you pressing down too hard with it? Those are the only two things I can think of.

    This is a good review. I have two question for you,
    1. If this unit is an Indian made one?
    2. If it is then how did the nib feel like while writing in terms of scratchiness?

    • @WhiteGloveReviews
      @WhiteGloveReviews  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you. :) I think it is Indian. I'd say it was a little scratchy. If you want a super smooth nib, then avoid this one. If you don't mind a little scratchiness, then it should probably be ok. I'm still pretty enamored with my TWISBI Eco. That one is my current favorite.

    Having got a few Parker Vector's with various nibs, I think they are wonderful pens. May I suggest filling it with either the supplied cartridge or bottled ink by Parker or Waterman. I'm afraid your 'filling technique' left a lot to be desired and did nothing to illustrate the quality of the pen!
