I love how this song feels like a real phone call between Nikku and her mother, it literally sounds like Matzu says "Hi" at the beginning of the first verse and then begins stuttering as if shocked she got this call. Then Nikku's verse is like a long pleading, almost crying? It even sounds like she kind of reverted back into a more child-like voice mentally when talking to her mother and doesn't even realize it till the end of the song. You can hear in real time as her voice reverts back to her own before just hanging up. Verse 2 sounds simultaneously like her mother trying to preach to her, repeating the same things over and over, losing steam, and ending by just raising her voice as if to say "the audacity that you don't believe in this"

@@styption3306 So far, all we know from the plot is that 'something' happened to Yokki, resulting in her no longer being able to be with her sister anymore. Every time her name tries to be mentioned the video cuts out. One of the cryptic videos on Saruky's channel is supposedly a jumbled message from Yokki telling Nikku to "Run" and "Do not let them find you", which suggests that she still cares for and watches over Nikku from wherever she is.
Not sure if this means anything, but though Matzu is holding a black phone, there's a red phone on the desk. The icon of Hotline 024 is a red phone. "Help me" is clearly being heard. A hotline is used for emergencies, and phones that are connected to a hotline are typically red. The red phone is never picked up. A cry for help is never answered.
I was wondering where this song was gonna appear, and for it to show up after perhaps the single coolest path to unlocking a song I’ve seen to date is nothing short of amazing. Not to mention, this song is an absolute banger, I adore the abstract sound design this has and just.. everything this offered is immaculate. Favourite mod of all time, period.
When I saw the gameplay of this song, I was confused as to why Nikku had to disguise her voice as Bf's when she's literally standing in front of her mom. But then I thought, maybe she isn't actually there, maybe she's just calling her mom *AS* Bf so her mom wouldn't immediately call security on her. As to *why* she's calling her, my guess would be to "save" her from the so called "god" she worships. (But hey, that's just a theory, A GAME THEORY)
Nikku doesn't have her own voice, and communicates through telepathy so i dont think she can call anyone, nor would she be able to recognized from her voice.

There's just so much going on in this song and it's awesome, also im not sure if its relevant but if anyone can decode the whispers heard throughout the song that would be pretty nice. the whispers start throughout 0:56 and sort of continue on throughout the song from there. Also a detail in the mod shows (when nikku's mom goes all biblically accurate angel) that the phone is sort of whispering to her? so maybe she's listening to what "god" is saying through the phone? idk this one is hard. EDIT: the whispers are actually at the start as well, like at the exact start and the end. EDIT 2: I think i found out a bit more, the whispers in the song for what it seems is possible to be the thoughts of nikkus mother combined with the "interpretable" thoughts of the god she worships (suggested by how at the start of the song the whisper says "Help me"), perhaps this is implying that nikku's mother is living in some kind of symbiosis with the god, being the gods most faithful follower she was probably given the "privilege" to live in the same body with her god. Hence why we see a drastic change in the way she looks from when she is talking to Nikku in the unlisted video and from the encounter they have at the end of the mod. The constant emphasis of them being unable to wake up is probably because of the god's consciousness overpowering that of her mom. (this is my take on this arg, feel free to point out anything that doesn't really line up).

I finally figured out why around (Matzu's third verse) 0:55 sounded so familiar and I believe it's deathmatch I don't know if it's exactly the same, but it just sounds so much like it, though if it really is true, it's also fair to note that the pattern takes place around when daddy dearest has been taken over by the corruption I might be looking too far into this but if the deathmatch pattern has any correlation, it could mean that in the lore, Asmodeux has spread corruption over people like Matzu to believe in their fake God which is Asmodeux EDIT: No wonder it feels similiar, Saruky was the one who made deathmatch
Pretty sure that motif is from Hotline 024 itself. Sticky made a strean yesterday playing the mod, and by the end of it he started to dig in deep in the secrets, and that motif is connected to other songs in the mod. Basically, Astral Projection is the most important song in the whole lore of this ARG
While I love this Song a ton, "Probably being my second favorite Song in the whole Mod" And could talk about each specific reason I love it, I just want to touch on the Lore aspect of the Song a bit. At around 2:55 Nikku breaks the "Facade" that she was Boyfriend singing, In one of THE most beautiful shifts in Tone I've ever heard man, It's hard to listen to that part and not tear up a bit... Nikku got too emotional during that part and ended up using her real Voice for the last Vocals in the Song, She is talking to her Mom that's been possessed/influenced by the "Old God" after-all... :c
I dont know if ive commented this already but; I absolutely love how when nikku's voice comes through at 3:06, matzushi immediately stops signing and its just you staring at her. I dont know if this was on purpose to convey a sense of her being so shocked at hearing her daughters voice that she just cant continue the song is actually really interesting. Its like you can see a flurry of different things going through matzushi's head with how her face keeps changing while sitting their silent.
Another realization here. In the opening BF/Nikku lines, Nikku’s melody is strong, with piercing long notes compared to her mother’s glitchy ones. But when her mom transforms, the lower reprise of the opening has Nikku “glitching” too. As if she’s too tired to do anything more than copy her lost parent, as if she’s been broken, or as if she’s giving in to the corruptive influence.
Going out on a whim here; Has anyone had the impression that Nikku's mother, Matzu, is actually the real god? In the video "prophecy", It seems that the entity want's to believe that she has no flaws and nor does her creation. Which is why in the video "Mother", Matzu kills the mood and is very opposed to her own daughter's statement saying that the god created "bad things" as if they were flaws. (They also refer to the entity as a "she", and the fake god as a "he".) In the video "Signals", there are faint images appearing at the time stamp 1;10. Matzu goes around touring someone and shows them an orb in the sky which is probably the moon. She then points at the person like "Oh?" and then gladly welcomes them. The moment she does that, an image of her head melting shows up which might mean that she was brainwashed the moment she welcomed the person into the position. The next image is of her tilting her head, drooling, and with one of her eyes missing just like in the song. She then rests her head onto the person's stomach, which I'm assuming is the fake god. Question is... Why is she being controlled? She wouldn't be brainwashed if she wasn't anyone important. She's supposed to be the head of MatzuTV, so why is she on a desk tasked with customer service? Maybe someone took her place? Why would that someone/fake god only settle to be a head of a company? Is it for the influence? The control? Or maybe it's because that position was the peak of power itself. I'm guessing that "he" is probably Matzu's husband. Which basically means that the task: "overthrow the queen", has already been done. The secret in the files of a framed photo of Matzu and a man together with the hidden words "the truth" kinda supports this.
In the video "Lacuna", it mentions that Matzu is just staring at the tv as it makes noise and that the father isn't home. The moment Nikku knocks on the door, Matzu's mind is instantly hooked back onto the tv which she herself asks her where she thinks she's going and continues to tell herself that there is no escape for her. From there, she's pretty much being controlled through the tv. I don't know what she does normally though. She didn't look like a TV host as she never held a mic in "Signals", and there's no way she was originally part of customer service in the first place, because if so then why would she be touring and (assumably) hiring someone? That wouldn't be part of her job. She's also known as "The Head of MatzuTV", so I guess it's safe to assume that she was a CEO and her company produces TV's, which seem to be a reoccurring theme within the mod. It's also possible that she was able to broadcast herself through those tv's, as well as see through them, using telepathy; connecting with multiple people's minds so that she could communicate with them (keep in mind that their species communicates telepathically). If that's the case, then we might have an idea as to why HE chose that position to begin with. Either he only took it for the convenience of control and monitoring, or that the position he took was the highest point of power and influence in their universe. I guess now we know why we are constantly warned about the fact that "they are watching". Either way, we know that this person/fake god has the power to brainwash through tv's and communication/telepathy, and that he also has others worshipping him, which at this point, we can basically tell that he may have not gained those followers through genuine influence alone. (The secret that directs to the verse: "Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves." may connect to this in many ways.) In this song, we see that Matzu is behind a desk, unnaturally staring forward and holding the phone ready to take a phone call at any second. The moment it rings, she answers immediately and says a lot of things. Assuming that Nikku was the one behind the call disguising her voice, she says a little bit of the truth through the call and Matzu replies aggressively, supposedly trying to change the subject, and Nikku replies with even more information as Matzu resets again. When I say "unnaturally staring forward", I'm saying that she's probably still being controlled. Not to mention that the song is literally called "Astral Projection"; Matzu's right eye being an X meaning that she's either dead or asleep with her mind and spirit roaming elsewhere. The entry into the second phase kinda show's that Matzu is attempting to change the subject again and Nikku desperately trying to flood her back with more information and calls for her mother's own consciousness to return. Matzu's second phase left pose has both eyes crossed out, meaning that she's no longer inside that body, nor is she the one controlling it anymore. From here, I think you can figure out that you aren't going against Matzu anymore, but the fake god himself. "Astral Projection" here could mean 2 things: 1. Matzu is unconscious and her body is moving to someone's control. 2. Matzu's form is actually just her "projection" as she is still a deity. (maybe even both) I also suspect that Nikku holds another half of Matzu's conscience. Nikku is told to run and hide, and the secret files that mention hiding and being hidden show images of Matzu. (additional note: his name is "Asmodeux"; very similar to "Asmodeus", the demon of lust, lechery, anger and revenge; Almost the same things Asmodeux is made from. This demon twists and turns people's desires, so if we think of "desires" as "goals" then it makes a lot of sense. Asmodeux is the embodiment of the void's resentment towards the entity who consumed it's emptiness. He was created solely for the purpose of revenge against the entity and to take back everything she did.) That's it for me. I just wanted to share these thoughts.

What do you make of the error codes in the background of the second phase? One says “Don’t wake up.” and the other says “Did you miss me?” It’s also a bit odd for a song with lore about “gods” to have glitchy features in the second phase what with the error codes, the glitchy stuttering of the verse, and Matzu’s sprite. You also can’t forget the VHS filter lol

Since Asmodeux is technically Nikku's father, and he knows who's on the other side of the line cuz he watches from everywhere, it explains the words: "Did you miss me?". "Don't wake up." are words for Matzu as she is not allowed to wake up from his control. Thanks for pointing these out.

Idk if I'm going insane but I think the whispers that appear throughout the song, but best audible at the very beginning and very end of the song, say "Help me" and "You're trying to help/You're supposed to help, but you're too slow". First one is obviously Matzu talking to Nikku but the second one I believe is Asmodeux talking through Matzu's body since Nikku is unknowingly helping him by revealing herself to her mother The interesting thing is, I believe this is supposed to be a nod to Sonic.exe, especially since there's that Sonic.exe cutscene in Sugarcrush (on top of the "you're too slow" line) and the several parallels between the two characters (False Gods who use disguises which are fake versions of something trying to relentlessly hunt down a target) Which makes me think that Sugarcrush cutscene could have something to do with how you activate that secret game over screen, since it would be the only direct connection to Asmodeux in the game aside from Astral Projection (which so far has given no indications of it being the way you unlock the secret game over screen)

Here's my POV on the whole "not being able to speak" thing. My personal theory is that Polygonians could actually speak before, and had their own voices. However, due to Asmodeux, most Polygonians had their ability to speak taken away, in exchange for the ability of telepathy and being able to mimick other people's voices.
i love this song so damn much. like someone else said, it's incredibly abstract and chaotic in the best way possible. i was not expecting nikku to show up at the end it actually makes me wonder why or how she showed up. from what i can gather, nikku is fleeing from her world/mother, shown in extraterrestrial where she's in a space ship, and in overdrive, where there's a bulletin of a ufo crash. why she decided to return to face her mother at the end there is beyond me my guess is that boyfriend, for some reason (injured/knocked out?), couldn't continue the fight, and nikku was waiting nearby/outside the office just in case. when bf couldn't keep going, she had to come in and intervene and save him or i'm looking far too deep into tis, and it's just a cool design choice

@@hidefiance if you do notice at the end at like 2:49, the voice starts becoming all distorted, and you can actually hear nikku's voice more, then cuts to bf for a little, till finally, nikku's voice plays. So i think it was a disguise in my opinion

Man... Everything... This mod... The ARG behind it.... The lore and story.... It's all crazy and all leads up to this moment... Mother and Daughter, finally facing each other once more.... The song sounds like a revelation, an apocalypse, and personal battle all rolled into one. Nikku seems to be finally fighting her past. 2:49 really hit me in the feels. Despite not having voices of their own, Nikku really sounded heartbroken and desperate there.

Oh. my. god. I finally FC'd it today after over a week of attempts. And to anyone planning to do the same: Don't. Or at least don't use my method. I played mostly through peripheral vision due to the spaced notes. After shrinking the window and such was ineffective to fix the main issue I was having on it. Middlescroll doesn't work here either. But if you want to suffer, go for it. I can confirm having experienced both though, an FC on Astral Projection is way harder, than a clear on Ghost's Remix in Camellia.
Closest I've been so far is 3 misses and I keep getting to that part more consistently. I'm not suffering at all though, this song is the best in any mod I've heard and it always "hits".

Oh my god, yes. My mother is, well, toxic and an abuse enabler (and an abuser herself). To me, the fact that Nikku at least had something good with her mother, something that gives her enough strength to try just one more time to save her mother, to cry out for the good mother that she had and I didn’t, is beautiful. I don’t know what it’s like to have a good parent, but at least Nikku had one worth saving.

Everybody about the lore so I'm just gonna point out something I heard. At 2:54 you can hear a leitmotif that's also heard at the end of the video "Signals" Not a lot of people saw this, so I wanna be the first to point it out :)

Everything it's so weird in this song, and to be honest, I thought this was the Nikki's voice when she was a child and the song was her growing up or something but now it seems to be the bf voice lol

Ok so I realise this is my third comment on this video but something I found interesting is that usually when nikku imitates boyfriend's voice it's not 100% accurate but in this song it is. This could just be because she's communicating telepathically and your own voice usually sounds different in your head but I think it's likely there's a deeper reason than that.

So I just thought about something that everyone might've already figured out but here it is anyways. The mom worships this God, and it's not that they aren't a false god. It's that they aren't the only god or maybe they are just falsely deified. Their world looks close to what ENA's is like. I would assume that the world was abandoned by the person who was working on it in some way. The mother is in her office talking to her daughter. The daughter might have said something during their conversation that made the conversation into a heated argument and maybe she ran away. Nikku's voice is present so yeah that kinda checks out. Glitches don't seem as common with their world or in the capacity that it was for ENA. Maybe it's only the daughter that understood/saw those imperfections in the world and found a way out of it? As for the person mentioned in the other video I am gonna assume her sister was removed from the game or just assigned a new role in the story and was left SOL when the developer/"God" left their world as it was. Unfinished and buggy. Either way. Nikku did something to get out or be booted out of her world. It's really interesting when you put the pieces into place to find the bigger mystery, and even more so when the guy making this awesome music, art, and the literal shit post songs to cover up the serious story, is good at making a game about a blue haired midget singing against a demon guy so he can date said demon guys daughter into an honestly interesting ARG too. You didn't have to stunt on us like this. I can barely draw stick figures and you just drop kicked me with this amazing art, music, and story...all in one demo! A demo!!!!!
Just…? If you listen to the second section where the first melody repeats again, Nikku’s voice (sounding like BF), is noticeably lower than in the first. It almost sounds intentionally pitchbent, too, to evoke a sort of DESPAIRED choking noise, like when you’re crying and you’re just fucking blubbering. It could be a trick of the audio, but Saruky is THE pitch bender and it sounds way more despaired than a lowered octave should sound like. And then there’s the final, final stretch. Nikku is WAILING for her mother here, something, anything. Even when she gives up, even when her voice returns to normal and she goes lower, it sounds so fucking sentimental. It shouldn’t be this emotional in an FNF mod, but it is.
Furthermore, has Nikku seen her mother’s corrupted form before? Nikku’s first vocals in this song are very high-pitched, like she’s screaming in horror at what Asmodeux has done to her mother.

I love how this song feels like a real phone call between Nikku and her mother, it literally sounds like Matzu says "Hi" at the beginning of the first verse and then begins stuttering as if shocked she got this call.
Then Nikku's verse is like a long pleading, almost crying? It even sounds like she kind of reverted back into a more child-like voice mentally when talking to her mother and doesn't even realize it till the end of the song. You can hear in real time as her voice reverts back to her own before just hanging up.
Verse 2 sounds simultaneously like her mother trying to preach to her, repeating the same things over and over, losing steam, and ending by just raising her voice as if to say "the audacity that you don't believe in this"

Every time her name tries to be mentioned the video cuts out. One of the cryptic videos on Saruky's channel is supposedly a jumbled message from Yokki telling Nikku to "Run" and "Do not let them find you", which suggests that she still cares for and watches over Nikku from wherever she is.

When I saw the gameplay of this song, I was confused as to why Nikku had to disguise her voice as Bf's when she's literally standing in front of her mom. But then I thought, maybe she isn't actually there, maybe she's just calling her mom *AS* Bf so her mom wouldn't immediately call security on her.
As to *why* she's calling her, my guess would be to "save" her from the so called "god" she worships. (But hey, that's just a theory, A GAME THEORY)
Nikku doesn't have her own voice, and communicates through telepathy so i dont think she can call anyone, nor would she be able to recognized from her voice.

There's just so much going on in this song and it's awesome, also im not sure if its relevant but if anyone can decode the whispers heard throughout the song that would be pretty nice. the whispers start throughout 0:56 and sort of continue on throughout the song from there. Also a detail in the mod shows (when nikku's mom goes all biblically accurate angel) that the phone is sort of whispering to her? so maybe she's listening to what "god" is saying through the phone? idk this one is hard.
EDIT: the whispers are actually at the start as well, like at the exact start and the end.
EDIT 2: I think i found out a bit more, the whispers in the song for what it seems is possible to be the thoughts of nikkus mother combined with the "interpretable" thoughts of the god she worships (suggested by how at the start of the song the whisper says "Help me"), perhaps this is implying that nikku's mother is living in some kind of symbiosis with the god, being the gods most faithful follower she was probably given the "privilege" to live in the same body with her god. Hence why we see a drastic change in the way she looks from when she is talking to Nikku in the unlisted video and from the encounter they have at the end of the mod. The constant emphasis of them being unable to wake up is probably because of the god's consciousness overpowering that of her mom. (this is my take on this arg, feel free to point out anything that doesn't really line up).

I don't know if it's exactly the same, but it just sounds so much like it, though if it really is true, it's also fair to note that the pattern takes place around when daddy dearest has been taken over by the corruption
I might be looking too far into this but if the deathmatch pattern has any correlation, it could mean that in the lore, Asmodeux has spread corruption over people like Matzu to believe in their fake God which is Asmodeux

While I love this Song a ton, "Probably being my second favorite Song in the whole Mod" And could talk about each specific reason I love it, I just want to touch on the Lore aspect of the Song a bit.
At around 2:55 Nikku breaks the "Facade" that she was Boyfriend singing, In one of THE most beautiful shifts in Tone I've ever heard man, It's hard to listen to that part and not tear up a bit...
Nikku got too emotional during that part and ended up using her real Voice for the last Vocals in the Song, She is talking to her Mom that's been possessed/influenced by the "Old God" after-all... :c

I dont know if ive commented this already but; I absolutely love how when nikku's voice comes through at 3:06, matzushi immediately stops signing and its just you staring at her. I dont know if this was on purpose to convey a sense of her being so shocked at hearing her daughters voice that she just cant continue the song is actually really interesting. Its like you can see a flurry of different things going through matzushi's head with how her face keeps changing while sitting their silent.

Another realization here. In the opening BF/Nikku lines, Nikku’s melody is strong, with piercing long notes compared to her mother’s glitchy ones. But when her mom transforms, the lower reprise of the opening has Nikku “glitching” too. As if she’s too tired to do anything more than copy her lost parent, as if she’s been broken, or as if she’s giving in to the corruptive influence.

Going out on a whim here; Has anyone had the impression that Nikku's mother, Matzu, is actually the real god?
In the video "prophecy", It seems that the entity want's to believe that she has no flaws and nor does her creation. Which is why in the video "Mother", Matzu kills the mood and is very opposed to her own daughter's statement saying that the god created "bad things" as if they were flaws. (They also refer to the entity as a "she", and the fake god as a "he".)
In the video "Signals", there are faint images appearing at the time stamp 1;10. Matzu goes around touring someone and shows them an orb in the sky which is probably the moon. She then points at the person like "Oh?" and then gladly welcomes them. The moment she does that, an image of her head melting shows up which might mean that she was brainwashed the moment she welcomed the person into the position. The next image is of her tilting her head, drooling, and with one of her eyes missing just like in the song. She then rests her head onto the person's stomach, which I'm assuming is the fake god.
Question is... Why is she being controlled? She wouldn't be brainwashed if she wasn't anyone important. She's supposed to be the head of MatzuTV, so why is she on a desk tasked with customer service? Maybe someone took her place? Why would that someone/fake god only settle to be a head of a company? Is it for the influence? The control? Or maybe it's because that position was the peak of power itself.
I'm guessing that "he" is probably Matzu's husband. Which basically means that the task: "overthrow the queen", has already been done. The secret in the files of a framed photo of Matzu and a man together with the hidden words "the truth" kinda supports this.
In the video "Lacuna", it mentions that Matzu is just staring at the tv as it makes noise and that the father isn't home. The moment Nikku knocks on the door, Matzu's mind is instantly hooked back onto the tv which she herself asks her where she thinks she's going and continues to tell herself that there is no escape for her. From there, she's pretty much being controlled through the tv.
I don't know what she does normally though. She didn't look like a TV host as she never held a mic in "Signals", and there's no way she was originally part of customer service in the first place, because if so then why would she be touring and (assumably) hiring someone? That wouldn't be part of her job. She's also known as "The Head of MatzuTV", so I guess it's safe to assume that she was a CEO and her company produces TV's, which seem to be a reoccurring theme within the mod. It's also possible that she was able to broadcast herself through those tv's, as well as see through them, using telepathy; connecting with multiple people's minds so that she could communicate with them (keep in mind that their species communicates telepathically). If that's the case, then we might have an idea as to why HE chose that position to begin with. Either he only took it for the convenience of control and monitoring, or that the position he took was the highest point of power and influence in their universe. I guess now we know why we are constantly warned about the fact that "they are watching". Either way, we know that this person/fake god has the power to brainwash through tv's and communication/telepathy, and that he also has others worshipping him, which at this point, we can basically tell that he may have not gained those followers through genuine influence alone. (The secret that directs to the verse: "Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves." may connect to this in many ways.)
In this song, we see that Matzu is behind a desk, unnaturally staring forward and holding the phone ready to take a phone call at any second. The moment it rings, she answers immediately and says a lot of things. Assuming that Nikku was the one behind the call disguising her voice, she says a little bit of the truth through the call and Matzu replies aggressively, supposedly trying to change the subject, and Nikku replies with even more information as Matzu resets again.
When I say "unnaturally staring forward", I'm saying that she's probably still being controlled. Not to mention that the song is literally called "Astral Projection"; Matzu's right eye being an X meaning that she's either dead or asleep with her mind and spirit roaming elsewhere. The entry into the second phase kinda show's that Matzu is attempting to change the subject again and Nikku desperately trying to flood her back with more information and calls for her mother's own consciousness to return.
Matzu's second phase left pose has both eyes crossed out, meaning that she's no longer inside that body, nor is she the one controlling it anymore. From here, I think you can figure out that you aren't going against Matzu anymore, but the fake god himself.
"Astral Projection" here could mean 2 things:
1. Matzu is unconscious and her body is moving to someone's control.
2. Matzu's form is actually just her "projection" as she is still a deity.
(maybe even both)
I also suspect that Nikku holds another half of Matzu's conscience. Nikku is told to run and hide, and the secret files that mention hiding and being hidden show images of Matzu.
(additional note: his name is "Asmodeux"; very similar to "Asmodeus", the demon of lust, lechery, anger and revenge; Almost the same things Asmodeux is made from. This demon twists and turns people's desires, so if we think of "desires" as "goals" then it makes a lot of sense. Asmodeux is the embodiment of the void's resentment towards the entity who consumed it's emptiness. He was created solely for the purpose of revenge against the entity and to take back everything she did.)

Nice theory, it looks like there was a lot of work behind it! There’s one thing you didn’t talk about though and I’d like to hear your thoughts on it. What do you make of the error codes in the background of the second phase? One says “Don’t wake up.” and the other says “Did you miss me?”
It’s also a bit odd for a song with lore about “gods” to have glitchy features in the second phase what with the error codes, the glitchy stuttering of the verse, and Matzu’s sprite. You also can’t forget the VHS filter lol
@@thegameglitcher2439 oh well now that you mention it. That actually supports the fact that you're not against Matzu anymore. Since Asmodeux is technically Nikku's father, and he knows who's on the other side of the line cuz he watches from everywhere, it explains the words: "Did you miss me?".
"Don't wake up." are words for Matzu as she is not allowed to wake up from his control.

Idk if I'm going insane but I think the whispers that appear throughout the song, but best audible at the very beginning and very end of the song, say "Help me" and "You're trying to help/You're supposed to help, but you're too slow". First one is obviously Matzu talking to Nikku but the second one I believe is Asmodeux talking through Matzu's body since Nikku is unknowingly helping him by revealing herself to her mother
The interesting thing is, I believe this is supposed to be a nod to Sonic.exe, especially since there's that Sonic.exe cutscene in Sugarcrush (on top of the "you're too slow" line) and the several parallels between the two characters (False Gods who use disguises which are fake versions of something trying to relentlessly hunt down a target)
Which makes me think that Sugarcrush cutscene could have something to do with how you activate that secret game over screen, since it would be the only direct connection to Asmodeux in the game aside from Astral Projection (which so far has given no indications of it being the way you unlock the secret game over screen)

Man, I hate that I'm always late to the party. But oh well, here's some things I've noticed:
- Apparently, Matzu's apple hair is a wig, probably used for religious stuff. I don't know why she has it on during Astral Projection though.
- Nikku was barely seen in this video.
- I think the Dreamfield is the place where THE ENTITY lives, and Matzu apparently got trapped in it (as we can see in Astral Projection's 2nd half, there are error screens that say "you're stuck" & "never wake up").

Here's my POV on the whole "not being able to speak" thing.
My personal theory is that Polygonians could actually speak before, and had their own voices. However, due to Asmodeux, most Polygonians had their ability to speak taken away, in exchange for the ability of telepathy and being able to mimick other people's voices.
i love this song so damn much. like someone else said, it's incredibly abstract and chaotic in the best way possible. i was not expecting nikku to show up at the end
it actually makes me wonder why or how she showed up. from what i can gather, nikku is fleeing from her world/mother, shown in extraterrestrial where she's in a space ship, and in overdrive, where there's a bulletin of a ufo crash. why she decided to return to face her mother at the end there is beyond me
my guess is that boyfriend, for some reason (injured/knocked out?), couldn't continue the fight, and nikku was waiting nearby/outside the office just in case. when bf couldn't keep going, she had to come in and intervene and save him
or i'm looking far too deep into tis, and it's just a cool design choice

@@hidefiance if you do notice at the end at like 2:49, the voice starts becoming all distorted, and you can actually hear nikku's voice more, then cuts to bf for a little, till finally, nikku's voice plays. So i think it was a disguise in my opinion

Oh. my. god. I finally FC'd it today after over a week of attempts. And to anyone planning to do the same: Don't. Or at least don't use my method. I played mostly through peripheral vision due to the spaced notes. After shrinking the window and such was ineffective to fix the main issue I was having on it. Middlescroll doesn't work here either. But if you want to suffer, go for it. I can confirm having experienced both though, an FC on Astral Projection is way harder, than a clear on Ghost's Remix in Camellia.
Closest I've been so far is 3 misses and I keep getting to that part more consistently. I'm not suffering at all though, this song is the best in any mod I've heard and it always "hits".
The second turn and the turn before the transition is probably the hardest sections to FC I'm guessing.

@@GLITCHYIMPOSTER I'm not so sure what the lore's about, but I'm pretty sure that her mom (and probably many others) worship a "fake god" and Nikku (plus friends probably) chose to instead run away, making them outlaws, which probably then lead to the events of "Date At The End Of The World" (Or Armegedeon). I'm most likely wrong, as I only got small snippets of the lore.😅

I don't know if this means anything, but it's interesting so I'll put it here.
The main theme of Hotline 024 is called "Customer Service" which is most likely referring to Nikku's Mom, or at least the place she works in.
Now this part is just my theory, but their "costumer service" could be a disguise for them to get rid of "non-believers" without causing suspicion. I Guess we'll have to wait for Story Mode to get a clearer speculation.

Oh my god, yes. My mother is, well, toxic and an abuse enabler (and an abuser herself). To me, the fact that Nikku at least had something good with her mother, something that gives her enough strength to try just one more time to save her mother, to cry out for the good mother that she had and I didn’t, is beautiful. I don’t know what it’s like to have a good parent, but at least Nikku had one worth saving.

Ok so I realise this is my third comment on this video but something I found interesting is that usually when nikku imitates boyfriend's voice it's not 100% accurate but in this song it is. This could just be because she's communicating telepathically and your own voice usually sounds different in your head but I think it's likely there's a deeper reason than that.

So I just thought about something that everyone might've already figured out but here it is anyways.
The mom worships this God, and it's not that they aren't a false god. It's that they aren't the only god or maybe they are just falsely deified. Their world looks close to what ENA's is like. I would assume that the world was abandoned by the person who was working on it in some way. The mother is in her office talking to her daughter. The daughter might have said something during their conversation that made the conversation into a heated argument and maybe she ran away. Nikku's voice is present so yeah that kinda checks out. Glitches don't seem as common with their world or in the capacity that it was for ENA. Maybe it's only the daughter that understood/saw those imperfections in the world and found a way out of it? As for the person mentioned in the other video I am gonna assume her sister was removed from the game or just assigned a new role in the story and was left SOL when the developer/"God" left their world as it was. Unfinished and buggy. Either way. Nikku did something to get out or be booted out of her world. It's really interesting when you put the pieces into place to find the bigger mystery, and even more so when the guy making this awesome music, art, and the literal shit post songs to cover up the serious story, is good at making a game about a blue haired midget singing against a demon guy so he can date said demon guys daughter into an honestly interesting ARG too. You didn't have to stunt on us like this. I can barely draw stick figures and you just drop kicked me with this amazing art, music, and story...all in one demo! A demo!!!!!

Just…? If you listen to the second section where the first melody repeats again, Nikku’s voice (sounding like BF), is noticeably lower than in the first. It almost sounds intentionally pitchbent, too, to evoke a sort of DESPAIRED choking noise, like when you’re crying and you’re just fucking blubbering. It could be a trick of the audio, but Saruky is THE pitch bender and it sounds way more despaired than a lowered octave should sound like. And then there’s the final, final stretch. Nikku is WAILING for her mother here, something, anything. Even when she gives up, even when her voice returns to normal and she goes lower, it sounds so fucking sentimental. It shouldn’t be this emotional in an FNF mod, but it is.
Furthermore, has Nikku seen her mother’s corrupted form before? Nikku’s first vocals in this song are very high-pitched, like she’s screaming in horror at what Asmodeux has done to her mother.
