Pac looked up to spice 1 alot he used alot of this slang and story telling style in his music

True story
They borrowed from each other a lot like good friends should he said it in his art of dialogue interview
Spice told me in 2007 that the biggest album Pac ever had was when he and Spice made an album together.

Aaron9 He was influenced by both, unless Pac comes back we’ll never know what made more of a impact.
Absolutely man! Oakland, Marin City "jungle"! Wasn't till he got to Marin City and Oakland that he hit the streets and started gettin schooled! And I ain't talking textbooks lol
💯👈✌
And Spice1 was where 2pac got that idea "I wonder if Heaven got a ghetto" which he made a song with that title and idea. And "Thuglife" he got that idea from his Big Homey Mike "Cooley" and it was actually Cooleys Grandma who first said it no bullshit. She said as they were leaving the house "oh they just living the Thugs life"! Lol And Pac says in How long will they Mourn Me song "Thug life the...Thugs Life" and Pac made an acronym out of it T.H.U.G.L.I.F.E which stands for The. HATE. U. GAVE. LITTLE. INFANTS. FUCKS. EVERYBODY! and OUTLAWZ was Operating Under Thug Lawz As Warriorz. N.I. G. G. A. is Never Ignorant. Getting. Goals. Accomplished. Watch Thug Immortal and also his interview with Tabitha Soren from MTV b4 he went to jail tho when he's rocking that purple hat and he says all his street shit was learned out West when he got kicked out at 17 by his Mom(RIP). Dear Mama song line "17 years old kicked out on the street". And in the beginning of his song Hellrazor(sick track) opening line is(This 1 goes out to my nigga Mike Cooley). Indeed yo so sad how far rap has fallen just glad we the old school to reminisce on
90's was the best era for rap for me. I remember sitting on the couch watching this on rap city. MAN, time goes by too fast
Real shit
Word! Everything was still fresh to the ears. Now there's nothing any new rapper can say that we never heard before.
I sure do miss me some Rap City! I remember rushing home from school to record that shit on VHS! 🤣🤣🤣

"Sendin troops to the ghetto like the Middle East"... Spice ahead of his time...
Not really, for they rioted major cities back in the 60s, and you had the LA riot in the 90s. In which at some point the military was called in. So Spice 1 was just speaking on history, but perhaps he did know history would repeat itself.

He was talking about colour as in red and blue probably.
Hydro2oo9 no he wasn’t. The next line is “but yet I see more young dead brothers”. Besides blue and red is more of a so cal thing, not so much Bay Area
Classic song , back in the day when rappers were real and used to expose the problems of his community.
You get that right
Word
michel araujo And nowadays rappers want to be ghetto and do bad things back then rappers in the 90's used to expose the wrong in their community like 2Pac and Spice 1, I hope some black out there know how Ghetto areas ruin their culture but by their own actions.

The most underrated....He should be mentioned with PAC...Cbo also
He did a song with PAC cbo from my other hometown Sacramento but he wasn't rapping about things like this
Man there was something so genuine and real about rappers in the 90s..It's crazy even when they would make a club banger type song they always had a balance between real issues in the black community and other real world issues we go through. Nowadays all it seems is non-stop hype songs, very rarely do you see rappers keeping the balance that the 90s had.
Wodchly, I've been saying that shit for years. And I've been waiting for somebody to say what you said on TH-cam, so these young bubble head MF's of today can understand how deep rap music was in the 90s.
not listened to anything after 2002 tbh
because they was all from the streets. not no pretendo bullshit now adays
Exactly what I was going to say. Rappers back in the day were actual gangsters or at very least came from the streets. These rappers today came up through TH-cam in their parents basement.

Hero number one
if you were given a free ticket to paradise, would you go? Ask yourself, "Where is Paradise and what would you find there?" Beaches, palms, and surf? Mountains and snow-capped peaks? Is Paradise the unity of mankind and peace on earth?
Paradise is actually the place where God dwells. Most people think they will go to Paradise when they die, but let's see if that's true. Have you ever lied or stolen? Liars and thieves will not be in Paradise. Have you lusted after others, or dishonored your parents? Have you cursed the God who created Paradise? If any of these are true, you've offended Him and broken His Law. Instead of entering Paradise, the penalty for your crimes will be eternal death in Hell. However, God offers Paradise to those who bring Him a sinless payment for their sins. Your goodness and good deeds are not that sinless payment. God will only accept the sacrifice of His sinless Son, Jesus Christ. Anyone who repents and believes in Him will be cleansed of their sins and given that free ticket to Paradise! Jesus promised the thief on the cross who trusted in Him: "... Today shalt thou be with me in paradise." (Luke 23:43)
Do not live in a "fool's" Paradise thinking this life is all there is. God is inviting you to the "real" Paradise through faith in Jesus Christ. When you breathe your last breath and life on earth is over, will it be Paradise "lost" or Paradise "found" for you?

And if mommy wasn't based she would still be alive
But now the street is a place you could be swallowed by death
Brothas taking each other's lives
And going to rest in peace
I wonder if heaven got a ghetto
My cousin died last year
And I still can't let go
I walk the streets of my city of my neighborhood
Seeing dope fiends living off canned goods
15 niggas on the corner
And niggas die young in California
Five O will get a dope case and flaunt it
Have your ass on "America's Most Wanted"
But I don't slang or either gangbang
And though my old school homies do the same thang
I still got love cause you gotta live
So you can give
And raise a family G
But you gotta do your best slanging D-O-P-E
So keep a grip on yourself and stay mellow
And welcome to the ghetto
Make me wanna holler, they way they do my life
Welcome to the ghetto
Make me wanna holler, they way they do my life
Welcome to the ghetto
Make me wanna holler, they way they do my life
Welcome to the ghetto
From across the seas comes cocaine
But you never seen a black man fly the plane
Look at the news a young black death
Was it drug related, take a guess
I flash when I look in the mirror black
Cause my reflection is a nine millimeter gat
I think about genocide
And have thoughts of my homies who died
Everybody backstabbing
But I ain't the one to talk I'm into gaffling
Death gives a shit about your color
But yet I see mo dead young brothas
I'm goin crazy out here
Seein 24 brothas die by the end of the year
And I still gotta deal with the Five O
And I stopped sellin dope in Nine O
But if I came to it
I probably still do it
Put a Nine in my draws get straight to it
I hope that I never see the day
That I get 20 years for a cake
B-K-A as a key
So open up the door for the mo money
But I ain't gotta do that G
Cause I'm down with the F-A to the C to the U to the L-T-Y
G-nut X-tra Large and S-P-I-C-E make niggas feel like jello
And welcome to the ghetto
Make me wanna holler, they way they do my life
Welcome to the ghetto
Make me wanna holler, they way they do my life
Welcome to the ghetto
Make me wanna holler, they way they do my life
Welcome to the ghetto
Make me wanna holler, they way they do my life
Welcome to the ghetto
Welcome to the ghetto
Welcome to the ghetto
Welcome to the ghetto
Welcome to the ghetto
Welcome to the ghetto
Welcome to the ghetto
Welcome to the ghetto
Spice 1 rocking the dope sample, one of the greatest songs ever
That 3rd verse is one of the best in hip hop history!
Nuff Said!!
💯‼️
Damn I forgot about this. Still bumping in 2019 💯💯
old school hip hop music it's better than rapper's today they don't even respect the culture of hip hop music I respect the OG,s of hip hop music
Spice 1 is in my top 5. He has to be the most underrated rapper ever. He never sold out and went commercial thats why he isnt mentioned much these days.
Facts
He was too hardcore for the mainstream… Jive records tried to get him to tone down his lyrics.
Not only was his lyrics one of the best but his rhyme flow was on a hold different level…
