Thank you very much 😀 coming from dji v1 and vistas there is no difference, same everything 😀 I think the older firmware had lag but it’s gone in recent versions, I also got best antennas I could just in case!
it was the same time as the low light, i went up 3 floors and about 100m, as comparison my friend on analog cannot fly past floor 1 and about 75m. 5:20 & 5:55 is where the signal drops. The way walksnail and dji record the footage is there is no breakup but you get latency and then it catches up on its self, in the goggles we see it as a stutter/lag. on the dvr it records all the frames in order so there is no lag/anything to see. the only way to actually see what i see is it i recorded it with a capture card. the bad spot happened on both dji and ws so neither did better or worse. and it was flyable because i was expecting it, thats the area i go to to stress test stuff, it fail safes on tracer in the same spot. Crossfire handles it no problems and yet to try ELRS there. I have a capture card so i will try and record it soon as now you mentioned it, thats good to see/compare, thanks
@@genericfpv I've seen recordings from DJI & Walksnail. They don't just "stutter and lag". They also get digital break up - like the bitrate has suddenly dropped to less than TH-cam's 240p mode. Then some streaking too. Your video has none of that, which was really strange.
@@Vousienot too sure what to say, i don't get that. I was at dronefest and people were plugging in and i got blasted out, in the 2-3 seconds it did go to YT 240 pixelation before going totally black and crashing but when im flying normally on own or with mates i never see that. It was the same for DJI pilots. I got a capture card recently and im going to use that on the goggle in the next few weeks to do a video on race mode. I'll go to the same spot and recreate so you can see what it looks like in the goggles and i wont edit that part so you can see the range etc :)
@@genericfpv Have a look at some of Joshua Bardwell's range tests with Walksnail and DJI - they both do it in his videos, so it's really strange if you're not seeing it.

yeah still no regrets switching, cant see me going back, had some issues but they have all been me and soldering, i do think the vistas are bombproof but i love the goggles and 1s and it simply not being dji, getting a v3 1s vtx in next few days and sounds like will be more sturdy, cheers!

@@neilfpv very happy, and that’s a good question…. Maybe miss being able to watch my mates in my goggles, but as time going by I can watch other WS pilots once audience mode is better (it’s not stable currently). for me the only one reason i didint buy walksnail is that is not inclued with rx protocol like dji 03 did!!so you need to add extra tx...i priest they are going to integrate elrs protocole directly
its personal preference and what you fly, DJI is great, i have no intentions of going back and i love all the new stuff walksnail bring out, i have WS whoops, up to 2w long range VTXs and they are half the price of o3. That said vistas are bomb proof and o3 is super pretty so its just different🤷♀
I want to make the switch. I have walksnail and dji. But moonlight is out of stock. The goggles x out of stock. The VRx needs to be moddified for good patches. Stock walksnail antennas arent that good
@genericfpv I'll try with cheaper things. Then cancel after like 6days if it doesn't auto refund. But afraid to risk with expressive. And banggood has given me problems with refunds in past. So I usually try to not order from there. I go with aliexpress
had that happen on VTXs and its always becuase i've used the wrong sky/ground file or the SD card has been bit funny and i formatted it and then its worked. If it works i think it deletes the bin file so if its still on the card after a reboot it means its the wrong file. not sure if that helps?
@@genericfpv Yeah I misread the manual I just clicked on the pairing button whilst I needed to hold it for 8 seconds, but there is like an update everyday it feels like lol
so my dilemma is i got an Avata with the DJI Goggles 2, (not the V2) it looks crisp etc. but the main reason im wanting to get into full manual fpv is the range etc. do you have an opinion/experience with the Goggles 2, the advantage of getting something with the 03 is that i wouldnt have to buy goggles for a hobby im just getting into. keep up the awesome vids in the mean time
As zuldan says long range DJI has hard limits…. That said it is a long way, you’ll need some serious gear first. Lot of wing pilots use o3 fine. Do you have a range you are aiming for? And how many units as o3 gets expensive quickly
500m should be no problems, most standard 5” kwads will do 1-2km easily in open spaces easily. Trees kill range so maybe try flying but higher? Search on YT for “dji o3 long Range” some guy does 7km up a mountain! So I think your issue may be more environment/quad than goggles

I've seen more videos in the last two months about people switching to WS from DJI, but haven't seen an increase in actual WS videos. Is that because everyone is just saying that because they are getting free stuff to review? Or are they just forgetting to record when they go out flying with all this WS gear? I find it strange that so many people have "switched" yet we have very few videos backing up these "actions". I find it more plausible that you are all eating crow after touting such an inferior product as good. WS should still be under testing, it is alpha at best. But I do look forward to seeing some quality images come out of WS, I have yet to do so, and I have 5 WS quads. Just finished watching your video, and like all WS videos, mine included, it is barely better than almost all analog offerings. And analog has better penetration.
Don't believe these reviews! JI on Vichy's head, I bought myself a new G and an avatar - an avatar of shit with a bunch of problems. TrueRC patch (square) and omni (black) they come in a bundle and advertised for walksnail I got mine from hobbyrc in the UK (where I am)
Where did you do the range/penetration test? I only saw a low-light test. And on the goggle DVR I saw no breakup at all, which is a bit odd too.
it was the same time as the low light, i went up 3 floors and about 100m, as comparison my friend on analog cannot fly past floor 1 and about 75m.
I'm guessing the few people "switching" to WS have actually gotten good units? The rest of us chumps are suffering from smeary images and low range.
I wonder how they are QCing this stuff. If at all....
Really thinking about switching as well
Makes me happy to see someone converting FROM DJI instead of TO DJI 😎
Very good advertisement for the power of the Walksnail system.
yeah still no regrets switching, cant see me going back, had some issues but they have all been me and soldering, i do think the vistas are bombproof but i love the goggles and 1s and it simply not being dji, getting a v3 1s vtx in next few days and sounds like will be more sturdy, cheers!
I have put all of my WS stuff on the shelf and am converting everything to O3.
It's that much better.
This is amazing! I'm now interested in Avatar. Is it ok if you can upload a raww DVR recording from your walksnail goggles into Google Drive? Thanks a lot for doing this.
Defo good idea, with the new race mode I’m gonna do a new video and cap card. I’ll try and uploads a raw for you in the next few days 👌🏻
Thanks a lot@@genericfpv ! Are you happy with the Walksnail? Do you miss anything from your previous DJI goggles?
@@neilfpv very happy, and that’s a good question…. Maybe miss being able to watch my mates in my goggles, but as time going by I can watch other WS pilots once audience mode is better (it’s not stable currently). And it would be nicer when there is a bit more content on YT how to’s etc but that’s changing and fast. WS isn’t perfect, none of them are, but I am very happy and no regrets. Are you on Dji now?
th-cam.com/video/T50iWKPOHTY/w-d-xo.html raw from dronefest, raw link in description. only quick clip but you get the idea :) if you want a longer one it will be another week or so sorry
for me the only one reason i didint buy walksnail is that is not inclued with rx protocol like dji 03 did!!so you need to add extra tx...i priest they are going to integrate elrs protocole directly
I’ve recently switched to elrs, if they did integrate I would go mental, would be amazing!
Do you like DJI or Walksnail more? I am thinking about switching from Walksnail to DJI...
its personal preference and what you fly, DJI is great, i have no intentions of going back and i love all the new stuff walksnail bring out, i have WS whoops, up to 2w long range VTXs and they are half the price of o3. That said vistas are bomb proof and o3 is super pretty so its just different🤷♀
I want to make the switch. I have walksnail and dji. But moonlight is out of stock. The goggles x out of stock. The VRx needs to be moddified for good patches. Stock walksnail antennas arent that good
just checked on banggood and they are in stock on there it that helps? but stock does seem low on them :(
@genericfpv yea but liek aliexpress they will say in stock. Say you'll get it in 6 days. But u order and it never ships.
@@divingfalconfpv4602 ah didnt know that! hope you find some :)
@genericfpv I'll try with cheaper things. Then cancel after like 6days if it doesn't auto refund. But afraid to risk with expressive. And banggood has given me problems with refunds in past. So I usually try to not order from there. I go with aliexpress
Hey I have goggles X as you but I updated my device and it said the same device firmware
had that happen on VTXs and its always becuase i've used the wrong sky/ground file or the SD card has been bit funny and i formatted it and then its worked.
Great video broski.
Thanks bud! Looking forward to flying with you again soon 🤘🏻
Great video brother
Thanks man, means a lot I’m a fan of your vids! I’d Love to fly those pipes and pumps 🤘🏻
@@genericfpv sweet brother, glad to have ya brother, your welcome to rip with me anytime!
Dji v1's analog?
Yes I was running dji v1 but nothing analog in this video
so my dilemma is i got an Avata with the DJI Goggles 2, (not the V2) it looks crisp etc. but the main reason im wanting to get into full manual fpv is the range etc. do you have an opinion/experience with the Goggles 2, the advantage of getting something with the 03 is that i wouldnt have to buy goggles for a hobby im just getting into.
keep up the awesome vids in the mean time
If you want to do long range flying then you need Walksnail, HDZero or Analog. DJI limit the range you can fly.
@@zuldanfpv4634 ahh that sort of answers it for me the. Haha. Thank you for the reply
As zuldan says long range DJI has hard limits…. That said it is a long way, you’ll need some serious gear first. Lot of wing pilots use o3 fine. Do you have a range you are aiming for? And how many units as o3 gets expensive quickly
@@genericfpv ahhh just anything better than my avata really. About 500m goggles start to lose signal quickly. Really just after 2km if that.
500m should be no problems, most standard 5” kwads will do 1-2km easily in open spaces easily. Trees kill range so maybe try flying but higher? Search on YT for “dji o3 long Range” some guy does 7km up a mountain! So I think your issue may be more environment/quad than goggles
Im put off walksnail whoops because of the 3.1v video cut off,i hear especially on a 1s if you throttle hard and the power is getting low video cuts off ?
On my older packs after at the end of the pack it has happened twice, but when I’m HARD freestyle on old batteries. I’ve done 2 videos since this on WS whoops, one called igow4 and other about Racemode. I have a 1s 75mm which is amazing but if I want to go hard hard I still go for my 65mm analog it’s a different beast 😂 cheers
@genericfpv what 75mm whoop do you have?
@@jasonleesuffolk Betafpv 75 walksnail, but over 6 months I’ve changed the motors to rcinpower 27kv which was easy swap as on plugs, and an ultra light canopy which was pretty easy swap, it’s about 8g lighter than stock and power to weight is much better. Flys really nice 👌🏻 what are you flying now?
Hi,I'm flying a flywoo Explorer with dji 03 on,it's amazing i love it but want a small whoop for winter flying indoors and out a bit, thinking about getting a 75mm just not sure what yet
@@jasonleesuffolk if you want to do proper flippy flops indoors then analog, if you want to cruise about indoors in crispy HD and dont want the horrible static then you can do a LOT on WS, i fly 50/50 indoors bewteen them. WS are coming out with new goggles in the next few weeks and suggests has built in analog which would be amazing. Annoyingly all 4 systems have their place and want our money :D
Love walksnail system. The penetration maybe dji better than ws. But the ws latency more stable and solid IMO
Yeah, I'm switching to no name Amazon dashcam too :D :D
savage burn, i'll rethink my choices now thank you
What do you have against walksnail lol xD
Avatar is superior in low light situations, I love my Walksnail.
Coming from Dji vista….. I miss nothing! 🤘🏻
nice low light comparison!
Cheers dude!
This is the only reason im switcing from g2 o3s to avatar... The nite cam
I do loads of night flying so def one for me, lot of dark bandos as well 🤘🏻
Only thing i don't like is they feel too curved on my face. The sales for them seem low...i was all in when they released and got rid of DJI.
I think (no actual idea) maybe sales are better as I’m seeing more people with them, but I still see more analog and Djibouti for sure
Yeah, those WS goggles are way too uncomfortable. A different, or alternative, foam padding would have been nice. But that would have added another 100 bucks to the price.
I used my nbd dji foam on them and its much better. I just had to get used to it...
I am finally ready to move to digital system but i have no idea which one :s lots of people are saying DJI o3 is the killer of everything else :s maybe u can help me out with the decision?
Thanks for watching! Sadly I can’t 🫤 it’s such a personal thing, o3 is better video but walksnail is more flexible and damn good video still. What type of flying do you do?
@@genericfpv i mainly do freestyle but also cruising around with a cinewhoop cinebot 30 also love my tinywhoop at home plus i got a toothpick 3 inch :p all analog as for now how about penetration like going inside of building isn't DJI o3 a winner 🏆?
@@genericfpv i honestly think I will be fine with walksnail i am also happy with analog quality of the image but i am at the point of getting an upgrade i still can fly tinywhoops on analog no problems with that
Sounds like walksnail, I just got my ws whoop down to 30g and I have so much fun with it I’m playing IGOW and loving it. So far bando penetration is same as a vista so I’m happy, maybe o3 slightly better, but marginal. The cost and flexibility of WS is why I switched, stupid addictive hobby/life style 🤑
@@genericfpv hahaha totally addictive :p can u tell me how much of a bigger difference the o3 is regards bando? Also what made u say sounds like a walksnail?:p thanks for all ur answers btw really helpful!
The avatars aren't too bad they have their advantages. I think you should have tried the DJ. I integrals. They are in much better goggle and the DJ I Our 3 system is it's a lot better than the avatars. The intent is on the integrals are not removable but you don't need better antennas. They work on par with the axis. I know because I have all 3 sets of goggles but it's OK 2nd best isn't too bad.
I can’t do DJI as I fly whoops, and I have tried the goggles 2, they are awesome but I needed to fly different size stuff. O3 is great, great time to be in FPV so many good options! Thanks for the watch
i have WS and HDZ I like both
Lucky I’d love to try HDZ, the goggles look crazy good
Try the O3 bro!
i have, all my mates have it, doesn't fit on a whoop, great system but not the one for me :)
Great video. Subbed! Tip - If you want to get rid of grass smearing then run 720/100 at 50mb. Only problem with 50mb is if you fly with a lot of people the signal might interfere with other systems.
I think that was YT compression it was pin sharp while I was editing 😂 I’m flying 720 but haven’t tried 50 yet so will thanks
@@genericfpv All good. I didn’t notice any smearing in your video. Just a tip in case you ever get it in the future. I can’t see any video difference between 25mb and 50mb other than the improvement with grass smearing :)
Awesome thanks 🤘🏻
Do you have to look like you just came from a Homeless encampment to have one of these?
Encampment? Nah we are free range, classy comment judging people I’m sure you are the pinnacle of looks, brains, dress sense etc. consider me educated and I’ll go think about my life choices 😪
😊
Yay!! I’m in a de video!!!! 😊
HDZ is closer to beta than WS but still under development. The image and range are horrible, especially on WS.
But I do look forward to seeing some quality images come out of WS, I have yet to do so, and I have 5 WS quads.
Just finished watching your video, and like all WS videos, mine included, it is barely better than almost all analog offerings. And analog has better penetration.
the more videos you watch on a subject the more YT recommends them to you 😐glad you have setups you like, happy flying
Don't believe these reviews! JI on Vichy's head, I bought myself a new G and an avatar - an avatar of shit with a bunch of problems. The picture will be liked only by those who have just switched from analogue .. the quality of communication even with third-party antennas is nonsense. Barely sold them.
Not a review, load of friends asked me how I got on so made this video. Walksnail not for everyone but glad you found right system for you, cheers
You must of got a bad set , I own all three systems and only fly walksnail now , I've been out 7miles so far with walksnail no problem
My Walksnail system (using Goggles) works perfectly.
@@jimmytheriot8978 the fact is that this is not an isolated case, the units burn out, the connection is hoarse .. if you are satisfied that the freeze is where the ji has a clear picture - use it, I know that I hardly sold this shit. And many of my acquaintances, having played, also got rid of them. Perhaps you fly in the fields and forests, but where there is even the slightest radio interference, they hoot.
Yeah!
Awesome. Also on the Walksnail train and won't be buying DJI
Bro you should’ve upgraded to the V2 or integra. Never seen ANYONE move from DJI to Walksnail in my life, that’s insanity.
🤷♂️ can’t get o3 whoops, not ones I can freestyle. I’m happy with it and fly all same spots as mates on o3. Cheers for the watch ❤
I'm another. I dropped DJI for walksnail ...long ago! Initially walksnail was lackluster..has gotten waaay better.
I’ve seen a ton of people move from DJI to Walksnail. It’s more common than you think.
Two words: tiny whoops
