Wow, that lava lamp is mesmerizing! A grande lava lamp like this would make the ultimate centerpiece for any space. Fingers crossed-I’d love to have this masterpiece lighting up my room!! Your work is amazing!
Great video. Man i sure have been thinking about making one. I had no idea about the glass make up. Thanks for the heads up. Probably not going to make one. Dont want to have to clean up a glassy mess
Random questions: I have a friend who has a lava lamp he saved up allowance to buy as a kid. This lamp came from Target in the 90s. Years ago, he drained and dumped the fluid because it was so cloudy he couldn’t see anything anymore. I’ve been trying here today to get some answered as to how he could go about refilling the lamp and getting it flowing again. Would the vintage fluid mix on Ozone be a good place to start? Is it recommended he double boil or whatever the wax and empty/clean the bottle? If it’s recommended he clean the bottle, is there anything special you need to do to the bottle afterward before putting the wax back in and refilling with fluid? If the wax has been sitting dry in the otherwise empty bottle for years, is there maybe anything that might need done to the wax to restore it? Neither of us have ever customized or restored a lava lamp, so any other advice for us? Thanks in advance.
I've heard that glass containers that are made to "travel" are made of a glass that should be resistant enough to make a lamp out of. Even if it is not borosilicate. For example liquor bottles, growler jugs. However, I imagine these are not the most clear glass specimens so you probably dont want to use those anyway. I think there are skull shaped liquor bottles that people have made them out of?

Yeah. I mentioned liquor bottles, and that you’ll generally be ok with small scale lamps with less significant heating elements.
Whats the largest lava lamp you have?
The short answer is BETTER NOT😂
click options and watch at 1.25x and it's more watchable.
