    You are so cute! I really admire how naturally you took this adventure in lol. Meeting new people and doing new things, I love that. My plan is to study abroad in Limerick at one point during my college years.

    how did you find your accommodation/ house/room in cork? I'll be in cork for the 1st semester and I really cannot find a room or apartment to share.
    Thank you in advance ❤❤

      @@NEVEEEE it was definitely a struggle! I searched for short term accommodation, which is how I landed on ScholarLee. It was really nice but it was expensive. I also knew people who lived at Hatch and I think a place called Brookfield?? I might have that name wrong. Otherwise, maybe look at Facebook groups for subleases-I had tried that too. Good luck!!!

      Ohh, I see. I would recommend bringing comfortable shoes you can wear all the time (lots of walking… I had white reeboks), a rain jacket/rain boots, travel-sized toiletries in case you decide to go on trips during the semester, a lock for hostels, a journal, a waterbottle, etc. You can buy bedding from Penney’s when you get here, so I wouldn’t worry about anything like that! I was sure to pack lots of warm clothes too since it was generally pretty cold

    does college provide u with a student accommodation themselves ? i plan on coming to cork for my undergrad i have a lot of doubts about the fee structure and living expenses and all

    • @ErinOLaughlin_
      @ErinOLaughlin_  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      UCC doesn’t provide the accommodation, but there are a lot of student accommodation options around the city!

  • @EmilyWyskowski
    @EmilyWyskowski ปีที่แล้ว

    How did you select your living accommodation? Were you able to walk to campus from your apartment?

    • @ErinOLaughlin_
      @ErinOLaughlin_  ปีที่แล้ว

      I had a hard time finding short term accommodation, so this was one of the options I found. I saw Scholarlee and the Hatch and ended up picking Scholarlee because it was so close to campus.
      Campus was maybe a five minute walk which was so nice!! Walking to the city took like 30 minutes, but I liked being close to campus because it motivated me to go to class

    Thanks for the video, it's was very informative.. can you tell me how much is the rent for such a place? I'm excited to go to UCC, but I'm afraid of the cost of living, and I have to live on a budget.

    • @ErinOLaughlin_
      @ErinOLaughlin_  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Of course! I'm glad it was helpful. Here's the link to where I lived, which also shows costs: scholarlee.ie/Magazine-road.html
      I think there are cheaper places to live in Cork. I chose Scholarlee because I only wanted a 4 month lease. I'd also recommend looking into subleasing from people to find cheaper options!

    • @ErinOLaughlin_
      @ErinOLaughlin_  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha yeah I was! I was very happy with my experience with Scholarlee. They were very accommodating and also had a cleaning service every other week to clean our kitchen and living room which was super nice. I liked how close it was to UCC as well. And Sicilian Delights across the street is 👌🏻

      Ahh no way! I am LOVING it! I am so glad I picked Cork - the city is big enough but not too overwhelming, and UCC does a great job with international students by making us feel welcomed and included. I’m on an international society trip as we speak to county Kerry, where we get to see the Dingle peninsula, Killarney National Park, the ring of kerry, etc. Everyone stays in a hostel and it’s so fun to meet people from all over the world.

      Hi! It depends on where you decide to live. My apartment was a little expensive compared to others just because I was struggling to find anything at the time. I think it was around 250 euros a week or something. I just googled short term housing in cork!
