You are my inspiration to start learning modeling again. I dont know how to thank you for all this videos with nice and easy explaining to follow and understand things that always push me to dead end and I just give up. Wish you all the best and happines.
Oh man just in time. Started to learn sub D workflows and was really struggling to keep poly count low. Really awesome tips here. Starting to make sense to me.
Very very interesting video. I suscribed so that I can check the next videos related to this one because I am interested to check how you work on this. If I may, how did you write 3D letters inside Maya? is it a Maya tool or something you made yourself?
Thank you! You can create the 3D letters in Maya by going to Create>Type and the type in whatever you want. There are a bunch of parameters for fonts, geometry, animation, etc
It really depends, most of the time, Sub-D modeling is meant to be Mesh Smooth/Subdivided. However, you can use Mesh Display>Soften edge to smooth the normals of the geometry.

So good!
I got question, so if I want to create production modeling and texture it, should I use the sub d with smooth or sub d without smoot for texturing?
It really depends, most of the time, Sub-D modeling is meant to be Mesh Smooth/Subdivided. However, you can use Mesh Display>Soften edge to smooth the normals of the geometry.
