I know about that. When we visited relatives we sat on the floor. Ate from tin plates.little meat, lots of pot liquor and big chunk of bread, some greens.lots of folks to feed but we think God filled the pots because the pots never were emptied and our bellies were full. I learned a lot of my survivor skills by watching how my relatives lived.I drew water from the well, etc.Good folks. Those cabbages and pork bones look good. You talk about Mama Williams all you want to.I love it.
I love my fried cabbage,,, I fry up a pound of chopped up bacon, then add in my cabbage. Fry it with a lid on my frying pan to hold the steam in,, add a little water about halfway thru the cooking,, and once the cabbage is good and tender, it's time to chow down,,, 😎😎😎 Your mom was and is proud of you Chef,,, you just keep her memory going forever in your videos and on your channel,, it seems your mom raised you with much love and taught you respect that most parents miss today!! Old School has been part of your life and your Soul Food has been a main staple on your table as well,, the name fits,, 👍👍👍

Now I have to go to the store to get some cabbage, neckbones, and cornmeal to make cornbread!!!! Pot-liquer is reserved for collard greens here in the north Florida/southern Georgia region, but I certainly love this way too! I grew up with food like this, because I had a grand aunt who cooked just like your mother did, and she passed her legacy to my brother and I. Thank you for sharing, and I plan to make this soon!
