Watched your content for over a decade. Met you once when you where searching for a home in Los Angeles. We went to the same uni at some point. I'd consider myself an observant viewer. Question: do you ever get outside of your own head? Everything you do appears so calculated and measured. Not the guy ripping on the 90 freeway? That's a genuine question.
Thank you for your comment, and I’m glad we had the chance to meet in the past. As for your question-do I ever get outside of my head? That took some reflection, and I think the answer is probably no. If by your question you mean extending beyond the scope of reason, I’d say I’ve walled myself in at this point in my life within an enclosure defined by my limited capacity for reason. What lies outside that walled garden, so to speak, holds little interest for me anymore. So no, probably not.
You can also stretch yourself long and reach for the sky- act as though you are a bear too. This was once told to a friend (Inuit native) that lived in Alaska if a person runs into a bear. They can't see very well.
Be aware of, In japan, carrying knives, firearms, etc. is controlled by the “Swords and Firearms Control Law”. It is illegal to carry a blade of any kind exceeding 6 cm, without justifiable grounds. Persons violating this law face imprisonment with work for up to 2 years or a fine of up to 300,000 yen. Carrying such a blade for self-protection is not recognized as “justifiable grounds”.
Thank you for sharing this information. I typically don’t keep this blade in my backpack-it’s usually stored in the trunk of my car and only moved to my backpack when I start a hike. I’m always careful to avoid running afoul of the law-or bears-here in Japan. Thanks again for the helpful details! 🐻✨
Driving a car with storing the blade in the trunk will be considered as "Carrying". Driving a car for hiking with storing the blade and other hiking gears in the trunk can be legal. Driving a car for town shopping with the blade in the trunk can be illegal. This is just my idea, please inquire the police office nearby to the actual judgement.
Your are better off running then trying to fight off a bear with that. Though I understand the bears in Japan are tiny compared to the bears we have in the US.

Did you hear the story of that bear spray going off inside the bulletin board train? They had to make an emergency stop at Hamamatsu!
Yes, I did hear about that. That was amazing.

Thanks for the tip! It's always good to be prepared in the wilderness. 😊👍🌸
If I see a bear I'm going straight to level three.
That’s quite understandable. Thank you for sharing. 👍😊🌸

That trowel looks so nasty. Hopefully it never has to be used. (Unless you are gardening!)
It definitely is! I'm hoping it won't be used for anything but gardening. 🤞
