Also guys remember, the "characters with similar names" mistake is fine if you have an absolutely good reason why their names are similar. Ex: Maybe the characters have similar names because it's family tradition. Or maybe the characters are triplets or something and their parents thought it would be cool for their names, but the children grew up despising it, for it's difficulties. Whatever the reason is, have a reason that matters to the plot, a little bit. If the characters have similar names because you like it, and/or didn't know what names to pick for them, then cut it out. And try to search for new names.

For disposable characters I've been obsessed with using short pun names, the bible also does it the whole way through
