Why does motion detection stop working on a Swann CCTV camera?

A little video of me talking you through the autopsy of a Swann CCTV camera with failed motion detection. This may be the cause if your camera is located outside and does not record when movement occurs.

Not sure if this may be useful to someone else here or not too...
We use these cameras at my work in an indoor environment. We had one go dead, no video output. I opened it up to have a look and had a look at the PCB's under a thermal camera. The motion detector/PIR PCB was very very hot! I unplugged the detector from the main PCB and the video feed began to work again! We don't use the PIR side, so this was good enough in our case. One of the components (resistor or cap, unsure which) on the PIR PCB is showing a short. I may see if i can check the component values from a working PIR PCB and repair the PIR, just for science 😂 Like you say, it is probably not worth the fix with the corrosion. If i get anywhere, ill reply back here or make a video 😂 I really hate seeing stuff like this go in the bin, even at work so was glad to get it going again for a bit longer!

I had 1 camera that was flickering for about a year. today its dead. Then I noticed amazon canada the camera was 47$ now 97$. what a rip
